I have been a member for over a decade and I attend group yoga classes multiple times a week. I have also used their pool. It's not just a tennis club, although that's their main focus. But, they have a complete fitness gym, pilates and yoga studios, aerobics classes, spin classes, aquatic classes, personal trainers, and more. Our yoga community is very supportive, so I am always encouraged to go to class even when it's cold out or raining, etc. I am a "senior" & so there is something there for people of all ages. We have a 85-year old who regularly comes to yoga with the rest of us. But, the kids can play basketball or tennis, work-out in the gym, or swim in the pool. read more

I love this place. I can't say enough things about it. I have been bringing my daughter here, since she was two years old. She is now 13, and we still make time to go workout together. It is a great place for families, children, teens and adults. It has a wonderful energy and I am so glad it exists. Many of our friends have also joined, and the staff is so friendly and wonderful. As a loyal consumer of AHC, I would like to applaud everyone employed at our great club for the vigorous methods they are implementing to keep our club safe. Since the day AHC reopened, I have been attending several times per week, and not once have I seen a lapse in safety practices to keep us all healthy. I am somewhat of a germaphobe and have felt completely protected at all times. I encourage my fellow members to get back out and enjoy our great center. At this time, I would also like to applaud personal trainer Beth Konzmann who I have worked with happily for 3 years and counting. Beth is an exceptional "coach", and because of her skills, I have become a devoted fitness fan. Here is another example of Aspen Hill's "commitment" to its members. The pool's non-turbulent lane lines are not in great shape but there is one that's particularly problematic. It is not tight and drifts wildly. Consequently, it should be and is usually placed at the end of the pool near the handicapped entrance. Last night it wasn't; and consequently, it drifted between two lanes during the Masters practice. But here's the kicker: when we asked the lifeguard about moving the lane line, he told us he was told HE COULD NOT MOVE IT PER THE AQUATICS DIRECTOR. In more than 60 years of swimming and managing pools, I've never heard of a lifeguard with no authority to move a lane line!! But it gets better. We asked the lifeguard to call James Morrison, the Aquatics Director, to move the lane line. The Director said he "was off the clock -- talk to him tomorrow". Then, he hung up the phone and would not answer again. So, here we have a lifeguard without authority to fix a lane line problem and a boss who won't address the problem after hours. I recently moved a few minutes from this club and as a former competitive player, I decided to check out this club. They have clinics listed on their website for just a tiny bit cheaper than where I normally play in the area, but didn't have prices split out by non-members and members (like places typically do, with non-members paying more). So I emailed to ask and instead of getting a direct answer, I was instantly forwarded to their membership office, who seemed excited about my interest and kept pushing me to come in to do a tour and overall, they were quite responsive (responding by phone and email). I have been quite busy, so I asked for a membership estimate before coming in, and I was quoted over $100/month for the membership alone (on top of the cost of each clinic). And according to other reviews on here, there are yearly fees as well. That is pretty insane for a tennis club, regardless of how nice it is. Once I wrote back expressing that as a graduate student, that was more than I could afford, and asked if they had other membership options like a student membership, or if I could take clinics as a non-member (assuming I'd pay more per clinic session), and... radio silence, after the representative had been quite friendly and responsive before. It felt a bit insulting that once I stated money was tight, I wasn't worth the additional reply, even if it was just a "No, so sorry!" I'll stick to my regular tennis place, which is almost the same clinic cost without the extra $1200+/year, even though it's a bit farther since I moved. But I suppose if you have money to burn, it's worth checking this place out. read more

This club is great! I love the fact it is a family club and I can have my kiddos join me when I work out. Everyone is friendly and the staff are so welcoming! They offer many events and classes. My kids love that there are also kids classes and they enjoy family swim at the pool! On site childcare is included as well! It is a bit pricier than most gyms. I was quoted much higher for a similar type gym that has a location in Rockville and Gaithersburg so the cost is nothing compared to them. read more

I've been a member for about 5 months. I pay $84/month for one person with the "gov't discount." They have a ton of classes and the main exercise machine room is very clean. However, it is not worth the cost and they unfortunately lock you in for one year. Can't believe I'm wasting $1,000 this year on this place. It is extremely outdated structurally. Tennis will cost you extra (I don't play so not an issue). Don't be fooled by their "sales" btw. There's always a $20 or $30 "admin fee" when you start even if they waive the enrollment fee. Also, no matter what prices they give you, it will always average out to the same. Trust me. Write down their options and take a calculator to it! I like the fact that it is a family place without a bunch of meatheads. However, it's still not worth the price. I'll do more research to find a cheaper place in 7 months - I will not be renewing! read more

Me and my family have been going to Aspen Hill club ever since my friend recommended me to visit them (was going to Fitness First). It's been almost 6 years now and I can't seem to ever find a reason to leave this gym, it's just that good. The thing that matters to me the most in a gym is having a lot of space, good amount of machines, a basketball court, and being clean. Aspen Hill Club has all that plus more. It might be a little bit pricier but I always tell people you get what you pay for so when you end up paying for a your $10-$20 memberships at those other gyms expect long lines for machines, dudes who stare down any chick that walks by, and dirty machines. I'm more than happy being at this gym because everything is damn near perfect. read more

This club has tennis, racquetball, fitness center, and swimming. I only use the fitness center and swimming pool. I like that I can always get a machine. I like that they have an indoor track, although I only use it for warm ups or sprints. I've never done the exercise classes, but they look like fun. In the morning during the week days the fitness center is about 80% senior citizens and in the evenings and weekends, you have a good mix of ages. It seems like they may need to open at 5am instead of 5:30am as their are a lot of people waiting in the lobby for the fitness center to open. Maybe during the winter months when it is harder to workout outside. The sauna and hot tubs are nice features. The bathrooms are outdated but are kept clean. They have great amenities, towels, plastic bags, lotion, soap, hair spray, mouthwash, etc. Also, I signed my 7 year old for tennis camp and she enjoyed it. It is a pricey membership so if you don't plan on going at least twice a week, you may not find this club worth your money. read more

This is a wonderful, not too stuffy family club with pretty much something for everyone. Tennis is big and I am a big fan of the tennis programs and facilities. The management team works hard to make sure the club is in good shape and presentable. The grounds are also well maintained. I love to swim and so I use the poop and on occasion, I use the gym. Not easy for me to squeeze all of my fitness needs into my works schedule. Have to give a hat's off because of how great the club is. read more

If you want to play tennis, this club is definitely for you. The number of outdoor and indoor courts make it very easy to play whenever you want. They have practice sessions throughout the day including early mornings. I have enjoyed playing in the evening leagues as that works well with my busy schedule. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You can always find somebody to play with. On top of all of the tennis, they are extremely family friendly with a full size swimming pool, basketball courts, racket ball courts, and a huge area with workout equipment, all of which is located indoors. Not to mention the child care and camp programs for the kids! This place is a must see for any family. read more

Family-friendly! This club is great. Monthly costs offer an abundance of classes; offered at all times of the day. People are friendly and go above and beyond to make sure to invite all to join activities. Cleanliness is a requirement for me and the staff at Aspen Hill keep the pool, exercise equipment and surrounding areas in excellent condition. The indoor track, 10 laps equal a mile. Instructors are top-notch offering yoga, Pilates, body pump, cycling and more. There's plenty of parking. It's a great place to learn to play tennis, exercise, and swim. No better club anywhere for overall fitness. They have a fine indoor track (10 laps/mile, walk or run), a rarity in other clubs. I am a member of the aspen hill club. They have great facilities compared to all of the rest of the gyms in the area. They are also family friendly for both young kids and the tween set. Friendly staff. Changing rooms are slightly dated but always clean. Wide variety of classes, plenty of cardio equipment, indoor track, indoor pool, full sized basketball court, tennis, racket ball, squash, spin classes. Variety of memberships available. The Club is awesome. I've struggled to get to the "gym" for years. But I enjoy the array of sports, gym, classes etc that you find here. And I can't wait to get there as often as possible. After a long two week search and looking at YMCA, LA Fitness at Wheaton and Bel Pre, Olney and Rockville Swim, Fairland Aquatics, and Aspen Hill Club, we decided to leave Lifetime and join Aspen Hill Club. We tried a several day free pass and tried the pool and the gym. The monthly cost includes over 30 free classes a month both aquatic and land based. The classes are offered at all times of day. You could look on line and see if any interest you and what time they are available. The people are super friendly not just staff the members. They greet you, they learned my name and said hi to me in passing, they invited me to join different activities like Ming jong. I really like how clean they keep the pool. there is no line for exercise equipment and people clean when done. They also are a family club and I can bring the kids to swim or be looked after. Highly recommend it. My husband say it is a peaceful oasis. Parking is plentiful and folks treat each other kindly. Great place to make new friends and exercise. Great place for tennis with multiple indoor and outdoor courts. If you don't have someone to play with there are always clinics to play in. The gym and pool are nice and they also offer child minding which makes it really convenient for my wife and I to drop off our 3 year old and work out. Would definitely recommend. read more

We have been members at the Aspen Hill Club for a little over a year now and we could not be happier with our experience. From the moment we walked in, we never felt pressured to join or commit to anything we were uncomfortable with, and the tactic worked because now we're hooked! We do not have a tennis membership, so we mostly use the gym for the workout facilities and I particularly love the incredible amount of classes that are offered. I have belonged to a lot of health, fitness, and racquet clubs in the past fifty years. AHC is without competition, the finest facility I have ever been associated with in any manner. The high caliber of maintenance is the most outstanding feature of the facilities. Besides constant improvement and upgrades, existing equipment and courts are meticulously maintained. This gym is huge and has everything you want! Group classes for yoga, Pilates, spin and my favorite - body pump. Free towels. Warm pool. Nice locker rooms and employees. I've been a member for 5 years and love it! I haven't tried racquetball or pickle ball but it's available. There is also a tennis membership if you're into that. read more

While it is on the higher end of the price spectrum ($72/mos), the club offers racquetball and basketball. If you have a family, the prices come down considerably. In turn, this a great place if you have kids. The floors are a bit soft on the courts but its good for the joints. Classes for every level and interest are available. There are tennis players of every ability, and it is easy to get a game. There are tennis clinics and socials which is a great way for new members to meet other players. Incredibly expensive and badly managed for adult tennis. Which is obvious by the fact that there are virtually no adults playing tennis after work on weekdays. In addition to membership fees there are court costs and costs for clinics and to play with the pro. So what does the membership cover? Plus it is hard to even reserve a court. You have to call almost a week ahead of time. Why? Because there was frequent useless maintenance on what seem to be perfectly fine courts. Why are the nets down outdoors in the spring? Why are they watering the courts during prime playing hours? There were supposedly some clinics, but not during convenient times for adults. The facilities are actually pretty good with several indoor and outdoor courts including clay. There is a pool, although it is pretty small (only one lane available for laps) and weirdly far from the main changing rooms. There is a pro shop, but their service was not particularly great. There are a lot of kid stuff going on, but just not much great for adults. read more

I have been a member at the Aspen Hill Club for 25 years and think it is fantastic. The tennis program is superb, including several great pros. The Club has numerous indoor hard courts and outdoor soft courts, and 4 soft courts are covered by a bubble during the indoor season. Also, tennis outdoors is free all summer! The Fitness Center is incredibly well-equipped and has excellent personal trainers. My children were practically "raised" in the Child Minding service and we had several memorable birthday parties over the years at the pool. They also participated in junior tennis clinics. I can't say enough good things about this Club, and memberships are very reasonably priced, so you should definitely check it out. read more
