The Atlantic is the place to go for the best themed nights in Gainesville- whether it is Hair Metal night, Yaght Rock Night, or All Request 80's. This place really supports the Gainesville scene. I am an old lady, so I actually wear earplugs here because it can get really loud. The bartenders are sweet, and the doormen are sweet-er. There is a cover charge, even though they must make a killing on drinks. The Session beer is actually decent and cheap, too. However, I mostly drink the Crack and Coke (rum and coke) and it tears me up just fine. You can come here for the retro ambiance or the casual hipster watching. The AC could be a little cooler at times, or maybe just add some more fans. Plenty of seating and even some hidden dark nooks to make out in. There are velvet paintings and the most awesome movies playing on the flat screen over the bar. Last night was Breakin', with a short cameo by JCVD. Sometimes when I come to The Atlantic, I wonder, "What would JCVD do?" The bathroom has paper towels and running water. What else can you ask for?

Most dissatisfactory experience since a time a lady literally dropped trow, and defacated on the dance floor at a bar that at least follows its advertisements. Came with a group of people for a themed dance night. I have screen shotted their website and it says music events and themed dance nights at 18+ our youngest person a 19 year old who is trying to celebrate being in college. We arrange for people to come in from out of town to have an alleged manager lie to our face about what the website says (declaring 21 up) and then say he has no control over what the website says. False advertising to the extreme. Happy to spend my money somewhere else. Happy to report them to the chamber of commerce for their false advertising. Don't take a shit in my mouth and tell me the undigested corn on the cob is sprinkles that you have no control over.

How could I not give this place a top review. FIRST because it is a non-smoking venue. I really appreciate that. The only two times I've been able to get here were some of the most "dancing" fun I've had since I moved back to FL. Last year we went for the Stranger Things Dance Party. (PLEASE have this again!) which was more fun than can be put into words. Then this last time I went was for my B-day and they were having PRINCE NIGHT! (Though yes extremely sad that he died the day before my B-day last year. RIP, Prince.) Anyways, I have to say I love the new layout! So much more room for dancing, not to mention the super fun addition of the Pinball machines. This is nice because I get to dance and my hubby can still have fun instead of just sitting somewhere waiting for me to take breaks from the dance floor. LOL! Also, I really like how there is that additional back bar (through the patio type area) where it is more quiet and no dancing. Last thing I'm going to say is I LOVED the Prince and Bowie with halos mural above the dance floor. I honestly hope that is a permanent installment and wasn't just for Prince night.

Bad venue. Not inclusive. Bad drinks. Super bad ambiance. Service is awful. I would rather drink puddle water then ever go again.

Prices are pretty reasonable at $6 an hour during the week or $8 an hour weekends (per person). I've been with a large group and just one friend and the rooms have all been well sized for the different party sizes. We just use the iPad/YouTube to bring up songs rather than the machine. It works well and gets to a good volume. The rooms always feel clean and have lots of seating and movable furniture if you get a little more carried away during your performances. The reason I knock off a star is I find the drinks to be sooo weak, which honestly might be by design...The 6 shot sampler of soju seems like a great value at $10. But my friend and I had 6 shots EACH within less than 2 hours and it barely did anything at all. My friend VERY much a lightweight (like a 4-5/10 off of one shot) so that's how I know they're weak. They seem like soju diluted with lots of juice, which is refreshing but it's not like buying soju at the store and taking shots of it. I will say the bottles/cans are a great value at $4, but if you're looking to be tipsy/drunk while performing I would definitely recommend doing a little pre-gaming before you come. I understand they don't have a liquor license but it would be nice to have some stronger drink options available. The staff here is always super friendly and gives you a lot of privacy. This is a really chill experience and I've always had a really fun time. I just wish the drinks were stronger!

I was blessed with this amazing restaurant to have right downstairs so I'm going to tell you why I think so highly of it. Atmosphere/Appearance: The restaurant is so modern, chic, bright and fun. The décor is lovely and very thought-through. The restaurant spans half of the hotel's lobby with the bar area being right near the front desk, but the dining area directly on the opposite end. There's access to outdoor seating as well if you're feeling it. Service: So throughout my stay at the hotel, Kayla, Thomas and Desiree took care of me for breakfast. They were all amazing at making me feel truly special, almost like royalty. I remember Thomas's bubbly personality, Desiree's talkative spirit and Kayla's ability to cater to everything I needed. I appreciated every one of them. Frederick took care of me at the bar for the one dinner I had and he was awesome. He made me feel like he was a friend of mine whom just happened to be working there. Lol. Food: Breakfasts first. The first thing I ever ordered were the breakfast tacos. They're warm, soft tortillas served with scrambled eggs or egg whites, (I chose traditional scrambled eggs), with a choice of bacon, sausage or chorizo, (I went with all 3), topped with shredded cheese and pico de gallo. You can get breakfast potatoes or a side of fruit to go with the 2 tacos. They were fabulous. The only thing they were missing was some sort of salsa to throw on top. The pico just wasn't enough. This dish was certainly filling. Next breakfast entrée was the Street Corn Hash, which is a bed of chorizo corn hash and black beans topped with 2 eggs of any kind (I had scrambled), cotija cheese, cream and several slices of avocado. This was DELICIOUS. The chorizo was decently spicy, the eggs were fluffy and the whole mixture went together very well. It's much less messy to eat compared to the tacos and of course... I added some hot sauce to it. Lol. Like the tacos. They just need some sauces man. My next and favorite breakfast entrée (I got it 3 times during my visit) is the Superfood Bowl. This is such a beautiful looking, sweet tasting, healthy feeling, spirit lifting dish complied of acai puree paired with coconut milk & chia seed pudding, sliced banana, shredded coconut and crunchy granola. Like I said, this was SO GOOD and literally made me feel so good throughout the entire day. So I did stop by the bar one of the evenings to check out some of the dishes and here's how that went. I tried both their Mahi Tacos and Pork Tacos since the bar was slow. Usually you get an order of 2 with one or the other, but the kitchen hooked me up with one of each. I genuinely appreciated that. Each of the tacos are are compiled of grilled corn tortillas, a red onion-lime slaw, cilantro and the meat of your choice served with a barbecue creama or ranch. They were both decent, but the mahi came out just a little dry. The pork was much better. The wings I had really aren't even worth mentioning. They were okay, but I feel like they were on the menu simply because they're a popular table appetizer. They're just fried and tossed in some sauce, not my favorite. All-in-all, the breakfast here was superior to dinner. Value: Pretty good to be honest. Nothing too crazy here and everything is worth what it's priced at. Breakfast Tacos = $11.00 Street Corn Hash = $13.00 Superfood Bowl = $14.00 Wings = $9.00 Tacos = $14.00 In conclusion, I LOVED this place for its breakfast. Even if I weren't staying here, I'd come here to have their breakfast. JUST GET SOME SALSA IN THERE! Lol.

The shop is super cozy with plenty of comfy ouches and tables plus bar seating, so no worries about finding space (yet). They have a great setup with tons of TVs and music while you smoke; this is a great spot for groups or a solo adventure. And their selection of hookah flavors is really strong all with a reasonable price. We tried Love66, which was just delightful. The best thing? Their staff is awesome.
