Bought it to celebrate my boyfriend's bday. He wanted a massage. I did my research and after reading the most updated reviews among competitors(âme spa at the Turnberry island, the spa at the Confidante and Spa 66) where many people repeatedly mentioned the annoying construction going on at the Turnberry and at the Confidante making your spa experience not so enjoyable; the hairs in the shower and slimy sauna at the Spa 66. So I decided to go with Spa Atlantic and I called them to set up my appointment. I connected with them on my first try and made my appointment. Then continue reading the reviews filled with excitement and realized someone had mentioned the possibility of doing a bath ritual (in room tub with oils and candles) following up the massage so I called them back to book the bath ritual. I called one time, two times and finally connected on the third try. A very nice lady answered the phone this time, nicer than the first time I had called. She explained I could choose to do the bath ritual right after the massage for a $50 charge per person for 25 mins where you have the room all to yourself. I wanted to splurge and just have the full experience so I went ahead and booked it. I was so excited. So the day comes and we decided to drive to the hotel early to have breakfast at the restaurant and enjoy the facilities before our massage. We got to the hotel and valet the car. Valet is complimentary with this Groupon. Then headed to the lobby and we were directed to the restaurant named Coastal. We were immediately greeted and asked if we wanted to seat out or in. First we said out. The restaurant is facing the ocean so the view is beautiful but even at 9am was extremely hot outside so we changed our minds and went right back inside . The waiter was grateful we chose to stay inside. He was very friendly I think his name is Richard, ~65 year good old Richard. He took our order and right away we were eating our delicious breakfast. I went with the avocado toast with side of fruits and my boyfriend got the banana French toast. The portions are very generous!!! We finished our breakfast and headed to the Spa which opens at 9am. We checked in and went our separate ways. My boyfriend followed the male attendant to the men's side of the spa and I followed the female attendant to my locker. She showed me where the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, bathrooms and showers were located and where I needed to wait later on for my massage appointment. The spa is very nice. I've been to better ones, my friend works at the Mandarin Oriental so I know what a 5 star spa is all about and this one can use some love, but nothing to discourage you from buying this Groupon; I'm just writing a fair/honest review. The bathroom was a bit dusty in places like the toilet paper dispenser and the handicap handle. The spa front desk was a bit dusty too, like their desk and computers. So we changed and met at the pool area to hang out and enjoy the view. The pool is right on the 5th floor and facing the ocean. It was early so there were like 5 pigeons bathing on the pool but they were gone after an hour or so. There is a bar poolside that opens at 11am. So we waited to get our drinks on, lol. As soon as the clock hit the hour 11 we sat by the bar and I think the bar attendant got a little annoyed because she was setting up but we weren't in a rush. She made our drinks right away anyway and she was very nice all day long. There is also a gym you can use. We planned on using it but ended up eating too much for breakfast and were stuffed. We set up our massage for 1pm so at 12 we headed back to the spa to use the jacuzzi/sauna/steam room and shower before the massage. The massage was beyond amazing and so was the bath ritual. Overall we had an amazing experience and most importantly my boyfriend loved his birthday gift. I would definitely go back. We got 2 free passes to back and use the spa amenities and free parking for a day and that was very exciting. I hope this review helps. read more

I did not expect to review this place, but I saw on Yelp that it didn't have great reviews which was not my experience. I had a wonderful and relaxing spa day here. It was pretty quiet during the summer which was nice, I practically had the place to myself. The spa area is small, but is clean and has all the good amenities: jacuzzi, steam room, showers, pool area and bar. My massage was great and the customer service was accommodating. Ah yes, a "luxury" spa experience, where the most relaxing part is leaving. We booked four massages. We confirmed four massages. We arrived, all excited, ready for four massages. But surprise! The spa only scheduled three therapists. Maybe they thought we'd just start a buddy system and massage each other? Who knows! But what we do know is that the spa manager--let's call her The Queen of Apathy--sat in her office like an unbothered deity, listening to the chaos but refusing to stand up, apologize, or do anything remotely useful. Fine. We regroup, do some mental gymnastics, and one of us agrees to wait an hour for their massage. But hey, no big deal, she can just grab a drink by the pool, right? WRONG. The pool bar was closed. Did the spa think to mention that? Nope. They let us skip on down there like hopeful little fools, only to find a ghost town. At this point, we try our luck with the hotel manager, hoping for some actual customer service. Instead, we get a masterclass in "not my problem" energy. If indifference was a sport, this guy would be an Olympic gold medalist. We weren't looking for a discount, a refund, or a free anything--we just wanted someone to say, "Hey, we messed up. Bought a Groupon after reading good reviews. They turned out to be untrue. There was no option to review this spa on Groupon site after the visit. The hotel amenities and spa are RUN DOWN. Pool area is small, not enough lounge chairs, and the furniture is tattered and stained. Sauna is missing a floor board. Stone tiles around Jacuzzi are chipped. Steam room is ridiculously hot and unpleasant (and I am by no means a novice). You are forbidden to walk through a small hallway from spa to pool with a spa towel or robe. You need to go back, stuff things into a "locker" size of a shoe box and walk in your bathing suit. The massages themselves were ok, our masseuses were polite and nice. The valet parking was included. However I DO NOT RECOMMEND spending this kind of money on motel quality amenities. Yes, it's across the public beach but you don't get hotel towel/chair service there. Having been there before we expected a similar and great experience. We were wrong. Let's get the positives out of the way, won't take long. The spa is very nice and has a ton of potential. Great location and you can use the pool after which is nice. When we arrived we were supposed to have champagne since it was for Valentine's Day, never came. We went into the respective spa areas for males and females. The way that both of the employees came, introduced themselves and welcomed us was below adequate. Meanwhile there was construction/ workers in the female locker room. The quality of the massage was below average but not terrible. We asked for two female therapists, which they called to confirm. They messed up on that as well. Went to check out and explained to the front desk that the experience was disappointing, keeping in mind that it was not her fault at all. She went to the manager and explained a little bit. Manager didn't even come out to discuss it, which is why I'm writing the review. Other pros: front desk downstairs main lobby and valet people were excellent. I got a LivingSocial deal for the spa at Atlantic Hotel for a 50 minute facial and express manicure. When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist said the manicurist would not be available for the rest of the month and normally her Sunday times are not very flexible.... She offered a 75 minute facial instead... I can't justify spending that long on my fave so she offered to switch the voucher to 75 minute massage instead. I guess I can do that... Upon walking into the spa today, I was pleasantly greeted then taken into the women's spa area. I was left with a robe and a locker key. The robe was a bit rough and one of the belt loops were broken. I waited a bit in the lounge area, that had lemon water and tea bags with a hot water machine. I met my masseuse and was led to the Mediterranean massage room. The massage was alright, she was good on the hardness and tried to get some knots out of my shoulders. My legs and feet areas she didn't seem to know what she was doing. She did some unique face and scalp massages towards the end that was very odd and left my face and hair very oily from the lotion. The jacuzzi area had a sauna room and steam room. I tried both after my massage and they were both clean and well kept. The showers and restrooms in the back were clean as well. The showers are stocked with shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. The sink area had mouthwash, q tips and a blow dryer. Not too bad. 20% is added automatically when you check out so make sure to check how much they charged!!! read more

Trip three: Got a wrinkle tini facial. $150. It was the same lady who did my mani/pedi on my first visit. Everything was nice, lots of good smelling lotions. Only thing is she spent less then 15 seconds getting rid of my blackheads. Legit only I squeeze on my forehead one squeeze top of nose, and two squeezes on each side of my nose. Ok everything is normal no big deal. The day of everyone is super nice and friendly we get checked in, taken to the locker area and then we go into our room. The room is set up very nice ! This spa is just done right. Now the massage it self was done again by a really sweet therapist but there was no focus on my pressure points and felt very minimal. My muscles did not feel relaxed or any different then from when I walked in. Only difference is I smelt better thanks to the wonderful products they used on me. And now did check out time. The absolute worst !!!!! They tried charging me $457 !!!! Uhm it was already paid for via Groupon????? So after 25 mins, no seriously !!!! What I gathered was whomever set my apt, set me up for Thursday and Sunday apt. I tried explaining over and over that was an error .... I work weekends so that's not even an option for me. The lady refused to cancel the weekend apt then told me I must have upgraded services ... explained no one offered us any type of upgrade . It was just a complete disaster. My credit card was never taken when I set up the apt and the girl at check out explained this is their policy and my responsibility to have it taken. Uhm I advised her I don't work there and if no one asks for it I'm not going to offer it. After 25 mins of back and forth and her not being able to get anyone else to assist her. I left and asked for the Sup to call me back and I would be more then happy to pay tip over the phone. So when the Sup calls me she is aware of the issues and first thing out of her mouth is I need to take payment .... first of I'm still not sure if they have straighten up their issue or what. Gina the Sup advised me I owe $48 for tip and after I question the other stuff she says it's taken care of I guess I would have much rather hear. I'm sorry about the confusion today at checkout, we have it all taken care of and I'm just calling to get the tip for the techs. Really upset I still have $400 is gift card to this place. What a disappointing experience. I purchased 2 vouchers on TravelZoo for myself and my mother. After purchasing, I called the spa for 3 days straight and left voicemails and even emailed them to call me back...nothing. I then had to call the front desk of the hotel and have them physically walk over to the spa to find someone to connect me with. So, I finally was able to set up my appointment. I arrived for my appointment, which I scheduled for 1pm, and they said they had me down for 4pm. They could not accommodate the 1pm slot, so we were out of luck. We did stay for a bit to use the steam room and hot tub, but our spa day was certainly ruined. The good news is, TravelZoo refunded my purchase, so I can take my business elsewhere! Bought a voucher on living social for a 50 min facial and "express pedicure." Total cost was $99 for the voucher plus 20% gratuity. The facial was just ok. She only put Approximately 3 treatments on my face and each one had to set for 10 min allowing her time to come in and out of the room, rinse off several Items in the sink, etc. Not quite the quality I was anticipating at a 4 star spa/hotel. The express 20 min pedicure didn't include a heel buff....really? They charge $10 more for that. I guess u get what you pay for with these "special deals." Nice premise though. The facilities were clean and beach front which you can't beat. The ocean Itself creates that zen environment you crave when visiting a spa. read more

Went there on a LivingSocial deal. Had a massage with Ernesto, which was very good. I usually get sports massages, but this was Swedish, yet he did work some on my tight calves. Pedicure was an Express, and I had to pay $10 to upgrade for Hyacinth to file bottom of feet. This entailed her putting some lotion that takes calluses off, letting it set a few minutes, filing my feet another 30 seconds and Voila! Very steep for what it was. Hyacinth mentioned she had another client and I felt like she was a little rushed. When I mentioned this she attempted to assure me that was not the case. I wasn't convinced, but it was a nice manicure after all considering it was Express. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for the day, but next time I would use the pool & facilities first and then get a massage and pedicure. Once I had the pedicure I didn't want to go in the steam room, or any other areas that might ruin it. Valet guys were friendly as was a young man who was putting all the cushions out for the day. He was very attentive and asked if I needed anything. All the spa attendants were very friendly too, always asking how I was and if I needed anything. I'm on a budget but like to treat myself and so I'd definitely return via another LivingSocial or Groupon deal. read more

Went for a spa day by myself for my birthday and spent over 400 dollars that i absolutely regret. Let me first start of by saying the staff was awesome! Everyone i encountered was so kind and friendly. I booked a 50 min massage, a 50 min body scrub and a 50 min facial. First, I could've gotten any of these services for well under a 100 at a small spa locally but i chose to spend more money for what i thought would be better service (but i was wrong, the higher price doesn't mean better it just means we can charge this so we will) The facial was okay but I didn't feel like it was worth 120, she slapped things on my face, a little steam and she did a 1 second "extraction" I know my face and i have a million black heads and when i left they were still on my face. The "body scrub" maybe it was my fault because i just pictured it to be different. It literally felt like she rolled sand on my body and then washed it off. I was expecting to be scrubbed down with some exotic scrub that takes away layers of dead skin lol but no i felt like i was at the beach and there was sand being rubbed on me. The massage i can't speak on because i literally fell asleep during it lol so i guess that means it was good or was i just tired ? lol OVERALL just to get away by myself peacefully was a plus but the services i received were mediocre, i would never go there again. I won't take away the skills of each person that provided the services but it could've been better NOT worth that $400 plus bill . Sorry but not sorry. No hair products, or even rubber bands to put your hair up. Blow dryer didn't work, no deodorant. For over $400 not worth it. Massage therapist who does my signature 80 minutes massage has done wonderful job. I definitely give her 5 starts for her work. I only give 2 starts due to my experience at facility. When I arrive, 3 valets guys aren't attend to greet until I get out my car. I arrive early, so I can use amenities before my appointment. The steamed room temperature is literally too hot than normal spa will set. My friend and I cannot even sit in while steam is on. It feel burning on our skin. There are only two shower rooms, and one of them water doesn't even drains. Water is backed up to my ankles... After validated our valet ticket, we need to pay $8 instead of $15. All the spas we went, we don't need to pay the valet parking but give tips to valet. We are really disappointed in the service we received. read more

My 2 daughters and I went for Mother's day. We spent the day at the pool which was nice but the area certainly needs updating and maintenance Also there were not enough chairs or umbrellas set up and no one offered to help so we had to set them up ourselves! There are areas on the steps where there are broken pieces of tile and this could cause a fall. The spa area was ok. A big issue was that they ran out of towels and did not know when they would have more. How do you let this happen on Mother's day?? We walked around sopping wet and cold on a slippery floor! So dangerous! Even though we each scheduled spa treatments they asked if we could all 3 share a locker. The facial was really nothing but a few face washes. Had a Groupon for a couples massage so my husband and I had a one day get away at the Atlantic spa and hotel. The spa was super clean, the massages were amazing - thank you Blanca and Cornelia! After the massages we had lunch on the pool deck overlooking the ocean - great food and drinks. We went for a walk on the beach, a dip in the pool, and finally a steam and sauna before showering and heading home - a scenic ride up A1A. It was an amazing day. read more

i scheduled a signature massage, but what i got was a sub par basic massage. therapist told me the signature was just a swedish massage with aroma therapy. i explained the description of the Signature massage (supposedly their most requested and best massage service) and said i didn't just want a basic swedish massage. she just kept saying ok it is signature don't worry. i've had better massages at training schools. I am local and would not go back here. The manager was apologetic and did discount my massage. But even with that, i wouldn't recommend this place for a massage. read more

I went to the spa using the Living Social deal of an express pedicure PLUS a 50 min massage. The massage was great, however the room was too cold. So there is my 2 stars... Only for the massage! Now this express pedicure is everything it's name implies. Based on the spa catalog, the express pedicure is supposed to be 40 minutes. Mine was FIFTEEN minutes! It started at 5pm and by the time I got back to my locker to check the time on my watch it was 5:20. Yes I subtracted 5 min for me to pick a color and soak for 3 minutes. The pedicure was so rushed. No foot or leg massage, no foot scrub/buff. Nothing! When I checked out at the end I asked the lady in the front how long the express pedicure is supposed to be and she replied 30 minutes. Well I told her mine was 15 minutes and I asked her for comment cards which she said they did not have. She also said the catalog is wrong and she has to let management know that the info in the catalog is incorrect. She apologized and provided me with a voucher to use the amenities again which I won't be doing. I just don't understand why I am paying a FULL tip on half ass service. Living social deal or not, you would expect the owner or manager to provide top notch service so people can come back after the deal. Well I will not be back. Whoever decided to treat customers like this and give you a half service even though you paid for it and paid tip on the full service needs to be fired. read more

So I'm on town from MN on a well deserved mom get away for my belated birthday. So upon arrival I call the Atlantic Spa located in my hotel. No answer so I left a VM requesting an appointment for a deluxe pedicure. In the menu it's a 80 minute pedicure. Well I didn't receive a call back so the next day I called the Service Desk at the resort and they were able to connect me to the spa. I got ahold of someone who got me scheduled for Sunday right at 10am for an 80min deluxe pedicure. They stayed they needed a 4 hour notice if in was going to cancel. I arrived at 948am for my appt. the lady who was doing my nails didn't show up until 1005 and didn't start on me until 1011... Ok it was a Sunday I'm still willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. I'm in the spa industry so I can understand. Well the water was only luke warm and all she did was from my nails and use a leg scrub on them and I was done in the foot basin?!? I was then moved to rolling stool to get my polish done (I requested gel/shellac ) it was very strange to sit on a wheeled stool and have to lift my leg up on hers so she could paint it. Again... Weird but ok. I started talking to her to make my time more pleasurable. Turns out she doesn't like doing nails but they need people there who do. She would rather be doing hair. Well hmmm different . Well my pedicure ended at 1054. I walked to the desk and she handed me my bill which was for the 80min deluxe pedicure and upcharge for gel. I mean what?!? So I told the service desk lady I wouldn't pay for a service in which I didn't get. She then said she could comp the gel up charge. No, I wanted that and I will pay for it but I shouldn't have to pay for a service that I only got half the amount of time that you're charging me for. She was only willing to drop it down $15 and then proceeded to saying well maybe she shorted you time. I'm appalled this is not what envisioned as good customer service. I will stay at the hotel again but I will NOT be visiting the spa again. read more

I was worried going in due to the previously listed reviews, but my mom and I had a fine time today. We each had a 50 min Swedish massage & 25 min facial. Both massages were excellent. During the facials, the aestheticians performed extractions despite the limited timeframe, which was greatly appreciated. Afterwards, we enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi tub. The facilities were clean and stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, razors, shower caps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. there weren't any snacks or sparkling wine, but plenty of water and tea. I wasn't able to use the jacuzzi or sauna due to personal time issues but the other ladies using them seemed satisfied. Went for a spa day with 3 friends and left feeling disappointed. We had groupons for facials and manicures. The $20 gel manicures I usually get were WAY better quality than this--3 days later and the gel is already lifting. Also my right had is a different color than my left because she did the coats unevenly. Facial was fantastic! We also purchased wash and styles from their salon. The power went out in the salon because they had 2 blow dryers going at once.... Their brochure says a wash and style is $55 and they tried to charge me $88 because my hair was long. The lowest the lady could get the system to drop it to was $68...it was NOT a $68 hair do that's for sure. My other friend actually cancelled her hair service half way through because the stylist was not able to handle her coarse, curly hair even though we mentioned this at the time of booking. Even with a groupon, I wouldn't rush back. WAY over priced for the quality. read more
