Nate Vincent taught my kids how to play and they loved the summer camps/tournaments. Nate is a good man and I have so much respect for him. This review is NOT about Nate. So my wife and daughter said, plan your Father's Day, whatever you want. Of course golf was going to be involved. My daughter doesn't golf much anymore. 4 years of high school golf and now she's a professional and golf is a once a year thing. So, based on that, I made a Father's Day reservation for only 9 holes. I booked it online and prepaid. The amount of emails I received from KD prior to our round was ridiculous! All the emails were reminders about my tee time and all there rules. Not welcoming, just a rundown of their 9mil rules. Troon Tavern has served my family hundreds of meals over the years. I would say "above average" for golf course food. That was a direct reflection on Shawna running the food. FYI, she is now longer there. NO CARTS IN THE PARKING LOT, was a rule shoved down my throat in the 10 million emails I received from KD prior to my round. We pulled in 90 minutes before our tee time to get a great lunch at Troon before our round. I pulled up front like the email said, to drop our bag. I unloaded and told the guy standing behind the podium our tee time. He says,"you're really early". I told him we were going to grab a bite in Troon. Didn't offer to help unload, just watched my daughter and wife grab the bags as I unloaded them from the bed of my truck. WOW customer service at its finest. I asked him where I was supposed to put the bags and he rolled his eyes and pointed and said "with all the rest of them over here, I thought that's obvious". Not only did he not help now he's gonna be a smart ass. We make our way in to the tavern and place our order, I thought it was a simple order. When our food came out, the fries were still cold and soggy. The barbecue chicken wrap and more lettuce than chicken. It appears that the food has gone downhill since the last time I was there. I walked back out to the guy at the podium and told him our teatime was in 20 minutes, he told me I couldn't get a cart until my 10 minute call. I walked down with all of our golf bags to the driving range to hit. Since when does a golf course hold a golf cart hostage until 10 minutes prior to your tee time. We hit balls off of dirt. The driving range is rundown and there was hardly any grass in the roped off area that they had us hitting from. This driving range was probably the worst driving range. I've been on in the 40 years that I've been playing golf. They give us our 10 minute call, and call our last name three times to get our golf cart. Three times from the time we walked from the putting Green to where the carts were, which is less than 25 yards. The guy at the podium says we called you three times where have you been. This guy is nothing but a smart ass and I wasn't gonna "pick a fight" with this douche on Father's Day with my wife and daughter there. Now we get to the golf course. The tee boxes are littered with broken teas several divots, unfilled, on every tee box, the fairways had weeds everywhere and the greens were suffering from winter burn. The cart paths were in horrible shape. I'm sad that the golf course that my kids learned how to play the game on has now been run down so poorly. I would not recommend this golf course to anybody. The price you pay for what you get is the worst deal for any golf course I've ever played. I feel bad writing this review because Kings Deer has a special place in my heart. It is not worth the money to play here, and I really hate to say that.

Unfortunately we had a very negative experience this morning at Dick's. I was administering a…read morepublic access test for two US Veterans and their service dogs in training as their final step to become fully certified teams, which is a HUGE accomplishment for them. We barely got in the door and were immediately asked to leave. The employee who stopped us from entering was "Coach K" (he refused to give me his actual name). I politely explained to him that per Colorado State Law, service dogs in training were granted the same public access rights as working service dogs and I was happy to show the law on my phone. He indicated that he was aware of the law but that last week a group was in there training their dogs and one of the dogs was barking aggressively, so they decided to not allow dogs to train in the store. I informed him that that is in violation of the law and we were not training, we were testing. He said he didn't care and to take it up with corporate. After I clarified that he was really going to not allow us and our very well mannered dogs access to their store, he said we needed to leave and this was the last time he was going to say this, which implied to me that if I didn't leave he would call security or the police. Usually when we have these access issues it is due to ignorance of the law. Not just someone completely choosing to ignore the law because they feel like it. These were disabled veterans who worked hard with their dogs under the supervision of our non-profit service dog training organization for over a year and they deserve to be treated with respect and like any other customer when they are in public. I called the corporate office and filed a complaint about the store, so hopefully this issue gets resolved quickly as I plan to follow up.

I'm huge on etiquette and I follow golf rules strictly. That women's needs a new job she has no place on a golf course. I feel sorry for her husband and has to listen to that bs all the time. I hope he gets a raise. :) I would give the entire facility five stars because I enjoy this place very much, but one disappointment I continue to have is how long it takes for repairs to be made when things break. There is landscaping and trees separating the adult pool from the kiddos' (which is remarkable with slides and fun things), so we don't really hear the kids or even see them. We enjoy the separate space with many options for shade or sun. Feels like a resort. * Friendly class instructors. The ones I have experienced are encouraging without being demeaning. I enjoy the camaraderie between the members too. Don't love * Light burned out by mirror in locker room that has been so for months * Broken towel hooks in showers--also been broken for months * The smell of mold in some of the showers * The rust on the plumbing by the toilets * Certain places on the tile in toilet areas that haven't been cleaned for a long time * Blow dryers breaking and not being replaced * The ladies' hot tub being shut down for several days * How long it took to replace conditioner when it ran out. If it is a supply problem, worst case send an employee to Costco to buy several containers to hold things over until the situation is resolved. * How expensive the cafe is. * The number of cardio machines that have broken pieces that have gone unrepaired. * The decision to not carry the top shelf tequila anymore--the cheaper stuff gives me a migraine. Why not provide members the best? Be winning in the "second mile" like Chick-Fil-A! * How long it takes for broken lockers to be repaired. * Power outlet in the locker room with a sign that reads "out of service" that has been like that for months. * The various places of dead landscaping (by the entrance, by the pool bathrooms). * So many laminated signs telling us something is out of service! That's nice as opposed to hand-written signs taped everywhere. How about more energy to fix things promptly, though? * Employees power-washing the steam room during the middle of the day. Rather do that after hours? Signs are posted to discourage phone use in the locker room that hurts the atmosphere, yet power washing in the middle of the day was acceptable. This hasn't happened for a while--perhaps they've made a change on this. I am grateful they're cleaning the steam room! * Consideration for employees and how leadership decisions affect them. I've heard from a few employees (and one parent) that this is can be an unfortunate issue. All these "don't love" things, I believe, could be easily fixed with leadership being attentive. Having been in leadership in some way or another most of my life, I know just a few intentional decisions and implementation of systems of quality control could make a big difference. Maybe have certain team members walk through daily checking for details and empowering them to make work orders for repairs. Have arrangements for prompt fixes after hours! Reward your staff! Listen to them. Pay well. You'll keep the good ones longer if you treat them well. Be generous! The whole place will feel the difference, and you'll have more members joining and staying as a result. All things considered, I am super grateful to have found this gym and for my membership here. It's a very happy place for me, and I look forward to every time I'm here!

Many people have complained about this issue, and the club refuses to replace chlorine with bromine. When people exercise, they breathe large amounts of that gas, and they DAMAGE THEIR LUNGS PERMANENTLY!!!!

For the $115 that we were stupid enough to pay it was not even close to being worth it. The greens and tee boxes were in good condition but the fairways and sand traps were absolutely pathetic. The burnt patches on the fairway were ubiquitous and the sand traps had far more mud/dirt (and Rocks! See photos!) than sand! To pay that kind of fee for those very marginal conditions is just crazy!! Don't do it!!! For us = Never, ever again!!
