My son and I arrived first, and Connor was wonderful from the minute we sat down. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. He recommended a beer for me, and I told him I'm really not much of a beer drinker, but I gave it a try and he nailed it. It was actually really good! My husband joined us a little later, and Connor recommended another beer for him to try, which he absolutely loved. My husband and son both ordered pizza, I had the wings, and we had a great dinner. But honestly, the reason I felt compelled to write this review was Connor. We chatted with him quite a bit while we were there and really enjoyed getting to know him. He has one of those personalities that makes you feel like you've known him longer than you have. He was personable, funny, kind, and incredibly attentive, all while still doing his job and taking great care of us from the moment we arrived until we left. There is good service, and then there is the kind of service that makes you remember someone's name and want to come back because of them. That was Connor We live close enough that we could easily become regulars, and after this experience, we definitely plan on coming back, especially when Connor is working. There's plenty of parking in the front and in the back. The darkest beer is Guinness in a can; probably the only fault is that there's no local dark on tap. We sat down near a television screen that was broadcasting the soccer game, and the bartender came by to see what we wanted to drink. I asked him my usual question: "What's darkest beer you have?" He brought over the menu cards. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger (wife rates 5/10) and a crunchy chicken salad (9/10). I also ordered curly fries (thin! 7/10). It was a Sunday night, so the place was sparse. There were a few people at the counter and one man out on the patio. There was a digital jukebox playing music, but in the background. The bartender came by often to check on us. We ordered extra water and I asked him to warm up my curly fries. He was very friendly and accommodating. The fried cheese is very different from your other standard cheeses or mozzarella sticks. The cheese is much more firm with a light fry. The cup of bacon is fatty, salty, with a tiny bit of sweetness. The ricotta gnocchi bolognese has some amazing fresh gnocchi. The bolognese sauce was okay so it's a fine dish but I probably wouldn't get it again. The duck poutine has delicious fresh fries that end up crisp topped with tons of cheese and gravy. Not a lot of duck, but a great poutine overall. Every item is always a treat and unique and makes me want to try the whole menu.

You can't go wrong with a dessert that has butterscotch, Biscoff, marshmallow and miso. The only criticism I could make was that the tart was pretty loose, but that did not take away from the flavor. To drink this place has lots of beer taps, a good selection of wine and plenty of interesting cocktails. I chose to have a couple beers and they were both very tasty. I would like to come back with additional people so that we could try more of the menu items. Unfortunately, it is an hour away from where I live, but the next time I find myself down in the springs, I will return.
