A smaller group has been playing The Futures on Mondays for some time now. 500 Club has ALWAYS been a little more ($) than comparable courses, and not good customer service. Behind the counter, they act like they're doing you a favor. Now recently, they built a new facility/building for The Futures and events - the 9 hole course next door. And in so doing, did away with the chipping green. Permanently. That makes them the ONLY course in The Valley that doesn't have one. Seriously. And what, you ask, did they name the new building (and course?)? THE VIEW. Lmao. With that, my Monday group just changed locations. Permanently.

For snowbird season, the price for the money is hard to beat. I thought the course was in really…read moregood shape. The tees and fairways were divot free. The greens were interesting. I'm no grass expert but the grass seemed different. Very short and hard. Holding a shot was almost impossible. The sand traps were iffy as well. Very little sand in most of them. While it looks like a desert course, the desert was mostly free of bushes and cacti. The pace of play was OK for a Friday afternoon. We played the front in 2 hours and the back in 2 1/2 hours. We never saw a ranger. The practice area was pretty chewed up but usable.

The Links restaurant at the Vistas course has a beautiful patio for outdoor dinning. The greens on both courses are great! This is a membership club that offers open play during restricted times. New balls, ball trackers, replaced some of the older mats, etc. They're currently building a facility to serve food and drinks. Bathrooms are reasonably clean. There's a fantastic golf shop attached and service is amazing. Cons: Without fail there are a handful of dysfunctional or out of order bays. The Trackman golf sensors often misread or miss a shot and there's no way to fix it. Bays and screens look like they've never been cleaned (tons of dust). I'm not too crazy about the table and chairs. I find the stool chairs (over the lower metal ones) to be very uncomfortable and tables just collect dirt (more things that should be cleaned). Overall I highly recommend this place, they just have a few things to work on.

My fairway woods are going further and straighter, helping me big time on longer holes. We should have requested another area from start. Our fault on that. Service was attentive throughout the meal. Wine menu was out of date but we found a bottle to enjoy. All the golf carts have monitors in them to know where you are and par for that hole. They also have a nice little bar by the driving range as well and pickleball courts nearby.
