I consider Coldwater Golf Course in Avondale, AZ, my home away from home, and I'm there 2-3 times a week. Yesterday's experience was something I'll never forget. After teeing off on hole 1 during an 8:08 AM solo round, I realized I had lost my cell phone somewhere in the rough. My music cut out, and that's when panic set in. I retraced my steps all the way back to the clubhouse and spoke with Del, who was behind the counter. Without hesitation, he called Joseph from the Cart Barn to help me search for the phone on hole 1. Joseph and I went back to the course, and he started calling my phone as we retraced my steps. It felt like we were searching for a needle in a haystack, but they didn't give up. Thanks to their determination, we found my phone, and they even let me redo hole 1 so I could start fresh. This level of customer service is truly above and beyond. It's not just about playing golf here; it's about how the staff genuinely cares for their customers. Coldwater Golf Course is a hidden gem for golf enthusiasts who want a great round without breaking the bank. The course has a laid-back vibe, with a desert-style layout that offers wide fairways and just the right amount of challenge with its bunkers and water hazards. The greens are well-kept and roll true, and the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and desert make it a visually pleasing place to play. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Coldwater is a welcoming spot to enjoy a round of golf. The course itself has always been great, but I've noticed even more improvements lately, which I credit to Del and his dedicated team. The conditions are better than ever, and I can't recommend this place enough. Coldwater isn't just a golf course; it's a community that values every golfer who walks through their doors. Yesterday was a perfect day of golf, thanks to the amazing team at Coldwater Golf Course. This place deserves all the praise it gets, and then some. If you're looking for a course where you'll be treated like family and enjoy a fantastic round of golf, Coldwater is the place to be. This use to be a really good course, not sure what happened. We golf every weekend at different courses all ranging from $30-$100 and as of now this was the worst one this summer. It was $55, trash all over the course, hardly any trash cans, fairways and tee boxes were completely dead and dry from lack of water. Yes we know it's summer but all the other courses we played still had green greens, fairways and tee boxes so can't blame the heat. This course is worth maybe $25 a round, definitely not $50+.

Yeah, I was that D-Bag that showed up for his 6:18 tee time at 6:15. Coldwater was very professional about the situation and I was still able to enjoy a round of golf before the sweltering heat hit us. When I strolled into the the pro shop I was apologetic and the pro told me not to worry and he was ok with me catching up with my group and then playing #1 after we finished. But he said to check with the starter first to see what he wanted to do. There was a threesome at the tee and he told me to just join them...problem solved. The layout of the course is pretty straight forward and would probably be pretty boring for the low handicappers with a rating of 71.3 from the tips. We played from the Blue tees which measured just over 6300 yards with slope of 115. None of the holes really stood out for me as the fairways were pretty open with little elevation change and a few doglegs. There is some water on the course and I found it on 8 and 18 because it was blind from where I was hitting and was not given any local knowledge from playing partners. The round was slow (around 4.5 hours) and not because of of the group in front of us, but because the group I played with (high handicappers) refused to play ready golf waiting for everyone to reach every green and teeing off with honors at every box. There's no GPS on the carts, the driving range was closed because of the recent rains, and I didn't use any of the facilities in the clubhouse. The course was in decent shape and very playable. I'm probably one and done for this course but I greatly appreciate the affordable greens fees, $39.17 including cart, and the accommodation of the staff. The course is good for what it is and you'll have a good round if you have the correct expectations.

Friend and I came here on Christmas Eve, We had an 7:45 Tee time, so it was pretty cold. But, we got ourselves out and had a great time. Supposedly this course has new owners, so time will tell to see how it goes. As of today, the course is in great shape. Greens are pretty hard, and fast. I love the layout here, sand bunkers are also in great shape. I shouldn't really complain about anything here. However, The Tee box needs some work, never like when the Tee box is uneven. They do still have fuel golf carts. But if that's the only issues I have? Big deal! I had a great time, hopefully we will come back again.

We were escorted to the driving range where they gave use plenty of plastic golf tees and we have plenty of range balls to hit that were already set up for us. The balls were pretty clean too. I was bummed they did not have any breakfast sandwiches before my round as the restaurant was closed. So I waited to order when I got the the 9th tee. I ordered the club sandwich and it was delicious. I really liked the options you had as a side. I got the Cole slaw which was pretty dog gone good. It was especially nice they gave us some chocolate chip cookies too. Mike the Marshall delivered the sandwiches to us when we were on like the 12th hole. Overall this place is a great place to hit the golf course. People there were super friendly. I cannot wait to go back!!!

Greens were in great shape, bunkers consistent, and overall I would say conditions were great for being the middle of Summer here in Arizona. Green fees were right @ $50/pp which included range balls. Peppy carts, nice center console in the cart, big and deep coolers, four bottles of water, towels, USB port, deep basket, but no course GPS. When we parked they brought a cart out to us so we didn't have to use the bag drop. When we were finished, we were able to bring the carts out to the parking lot. Great staff, friendly and accommodating.

We had an Oasis suite and it was spacious and it looked newly renovated. The bathroom had both a tub and a walkin shower and we had a first floor room so we could walk directly to the adult pool. We went swimming every afternoon we were there and other than one person for 10 minutes, we were the only ones swimming. One nice thing is that they provide pool noodles so we could float to our hearts content. From the time we checked in, every person on their staff was helpful and friendly. We found when we checked in that the valets offered a free shuttle throughout the resort. So one night we went to the golf course and took a shuttle there. Since it was 112° it was a great alternative to driving or walking. If we had one quibble, the exterior of the resort, could've used an update. For example, the adult soft water pool surround was cracked in many places. I guess trying to grow grass in Phoenix in the middle of summer is difficult, but it made the common areas look unkempt. But overall, we loved everything else about the resort and would highly recommend staying here.

The family pool was extremely crowded with children, which is expected for a family-friendly resort. We spent most of our time at the adult pool, which was much quieter and child-free. Unfortunately, the adult pool area felt like an afterthought compared to the family side. Several tiles in the pool were broken, giving the area a worn and somewhat neglected feel. The lounge chairs were not as nice as those at the family pool, and the cabanas also seemed less inviting and less maintained. The food and beverage experience was another disappointment. There was no traditional menu available at the adult pool. Instead, you had to scan a QR code on the drink menu to access food options and then call in your order yourself. It felt inconvenient and took away from the relaxing resort experience. One bright spot was the poolside service. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and checked on us regularly throughout the day. She did a great job and provided excellent customer service. While the adult pool provided a quieter atmosphere, it lacked the quality and amenities I expected.

I was more than happy at what I found at Tres Rios. First a new club house with pro shop and future restaurant, clean open with lots of windows. At check in the young man was friendly and welcoming. The carts were fairly new. I remember the last time I was there it was a very worn golf course that was in need of quite a bit of TLC. While the entire land area is relatively flat there are a lot of trees which add to the beauty of the course as well as adding danger to wayward shots. I was very please at the condition of the course. It was basically green with some limited areas of bare ground, but nothing like before. The fairways were in good shape, with a mostly complete cover of grass that was a nice surface to play off of. The greens were in very good shape with a good covering of grass and they ran fast and true. Because the topography is basically flat the course tends to go back and forth and down the bordering perimeters. It is not a challenging course in terms of up/down or unusual shaped green complexes, but the amount of trees on the property adds a dimension that lots of desert courses lack. I enjoyed my round at Tres Rios, I encourage others to give it a try and I surely will return and put it on my regular golf rotation for play.

Normally, a server greets you shortly after you arrive and goes over safety, but we waited about 10 minutes before he even came by. When he did, he skipped any introduction and just asked what we wanted to order. I've had the Play More Membership for about 5 months and ordered waters and an appetizer, the chicken buffalo dip. The food actually came out quickly, in under 15 minutes, which was great, but our server then confronted the food runner in front of us, questioning whether the order was even ours because it came out so quickly. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially since the runner confirmed it was correct. From there, the service continued to decline. I had to repeatedly remind him to bring waters, plates, and napkins. He eventually brought four plates but only two napkins for a group of four, and even after asking multiple times, the waters didn't arrive until we only had about 15 minutes left of gameplay, after asking four times. By that point, we were already 30 to 40 minutes into our session. With about 12 minutes left on the hour, he came to charge us using the handheld device. After we paid, we chose not to tip because the service was clearly not up to the usual standard we expect at Topgolf. He immediately turned the screen, saw the $0 tip, and loudly said, "I'll make sure you guys never fucking come back here again." He said this aggressively and loud enough that the surrounding bays turned to look at us, which was extremely embarrassing and completely unacceptable conduct, especially given his tone and inappropriate language. He then left the bay area. Shortly after that, a manager came over and told us to leave, even though we still had about 10 minutes of gameplay remaining and unfinished food. The manager also refused to provide the server's name, despite it being clearly visible on his name tag. The manager told us, "My server said that he was disrespected by you guys, so I'm going to have to ask you guys to leave." Even after explaining the situation, he still did not try to accommodate us. To be clear, the gameplay and the food were great as usual, but the service and how this situation was handled completely ruined the experience. As a loyal Play More member who has been coming to this location for years, I'm extremely disappointed. Being verbally disrespected and then asked to leave without any refund or compensation for unused time and unfinished food is unacceptable. Especially after we waited an hour and a half to get a bay. Which we happily waited due to previous amazing customer service from other servers. I hope management takes this seriously, because this is not the level of service I've come to expect from Topgolf. De' Laurence needs more than just a conversation with management--this was extremely unprofessional and very disappointing. His demeanor and behavior are not appropriate for a customer service role.
