It used to be so easy to pick up an online order at this place. The pickup shelf was close to the entrance, so that you didn't have to mix with anyone placing an order at the counter. Now, the pickup shelf is tucked in behind the counter, with no clear indication whether it's ok for customers to venture there (it doesn't quite look like a place that non-employees should go)...and they don't even really use the shelf regardless. Pickup order customers now just have to wait in line with everyone else, behind the guy ordering 3 dozen bagels and the family of 6 ordering for them and their kid's baseball team. Just to say: "I'm here to pick up an order I've already paid for that was ready 12 minutes ago." What invariably ends up happening during busy days is that bold/rude people walk right up to the register and interrupt whoever is ordering to say they're there for their online pickup, while those of us with some social manners wait in line wondering why this store makes it more difficult to order online than in person, when it should be easier. Oh, and they almost always forget to give you a cup when you've ordered coffee in an online order, making the interaction that much more annoying when you have to bug them and show them your online receipt to give you an empty cup. Bagel sandwiches as always are fine, 4/5 stars on food alone. The online order pickup experience is just laughably bad. read more

The bagels are made pretty quick even when it's busy. Every time I go I try and get something different, and I've loved each and everything I've ever gotten. The Bagel Place is a yummy place indeed. When visiting Burlington, we made plans to do a day of driving and exploration. This calls for carbs to start the day and I am so happy we found The Bagel Place. This is a casual spot, that was lined with folks around 10 am when we arrived. They've got an array of house made bagels, tons of diff cream cheeses, and yummy sandwich options. I always opt for smoked salmon, and absolutely loved my sandwich on an everything bagel. The bacon egg and cheese bagel was also super good. What stole the show tho, was the blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. We got it for a "snack" in the car, but ended up eating it right there in the shop. It was that good. I love a good bagel, and The Bagel Place did not disappoint.
