I would give this a solid 3.5. We stopped at The Bagel Rack for a quick breakfast, and overall it was a solid stop with a couple quirks. First thing to note: there's currently no indoor seating. There are a few tables outside, but since it was cold, we ended up eating in the car which wasn't ideal. Ordering is done on tablets at the counter, and they have racks showing all the bagel flavors for the day, which I love because you can actually see your options. I got the steak & egg rack on a pretzel bagel with guac, and peppers/onions... really good. Flavorful, filling, and definitely the standout. Ryan got a ham breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño bagel. It was good, but the jalapeño flavor didn't really come through, so it felt a little underwhelming. That bagel would be better on its own or paired with something else. We also grabbed a vanilla iced coffee and a Cinnamon Toast Crunch bagel, and everything came out to a little over $20, which is pretty average for breakfast around here. They're a local spot with limited hours (think breakfast/early lunch only), so timing matters and so does getting there before they run low on certain bagels. Service was ok and my order came out in a timely manner. The bagels are always amazing, this is my go-to breakfast on weekend mornings before tackling some errands. Their smoothies are off the roof, very yummy without lots of sugar added. Hits the spot every time. They have some tables outside if you choose to hangout and eat your bagel while chatting w a friend or two. I'm from Lebanon, but live in the Hanover area now. I've been visiting my parents in Lebanon and now have to visit The Bagel Rack when I'm in town. The best bagels!!!!. I love their sun dried tomato bagels, my husband loves the 3 cheese and everything bagels and my parents love the sesame and poppyseed and jalapeno bagels! They love their breakfast sandwiches. My husband also loves their vegetable cream cheese! So many flavors to choose from! The employees are always very nice and accommodating! You can either go inside or go through the drive thru. Have been here almost weekly for the past month. My boyfriend raves about this place every time we go, he gets the same thing, a breakfast sausage sandwich with a hashbrown on top and a French toast bagel. I have gotten the turkey bacon honey wheat bagel sandwich, but they never include any of the condiments, as listed on their menu. We both get a drink, an iced coffee with cream, and a drink from their 'lotus drinks ' menu. I've gotten two different drinks from there, the "call me a nerd" (came with nerds, the candy) and the 'so peachy one' (had peach rings in it). The drinks are always a hit or miss, but never bad. What a crappy meal. The sausage and egg sesame bagel seemed microwaved, not toasted. The "5-year-old" at the counter seemed annoyed when I asked for cream and sugar in the nastiest, lukewarm coffee I think I ever had. There are no tables for eating at the restaurant except for outside. Evidently I had no idea it was take out only but regardless I will never be eating there again much less be taking in anything home. I should have gone to the the hearth diner. The Pork Roll sandwich I had and the French Toast bagel my husband had were both fantastic, easily in the top 10% of all the bagels we've ever had. I thought the bagels had just the right amount of chew and a nice shiny exterior, just the way I like them. Two notes.. First, Apple Maps thinks the shop is on Chestnut which is not accurate, it is on Cumberland. The food here is just okay, the coffee is not good, and the vibe always seems off. I've been here numerous times and always want it to be better than it is. Perhaps the biggest letdown for me is that the bagels are a 4 out of 10. For years the bagels always stick to the back of my teeth, and anyone I eat with notes that as well. The food isn't bad they do have good bagels. They do get busy so sometimes it takes a minute for your order to be completed. In that time if you need to sit down because you're disabled and in pain I hope you enjoy sitting on the floor. If you sit on the chairs in the lobby you will be told by an employee that you're not allowed to that you're only allowed to if you're an employee. For this reason I will never spend another dime there because I am disabled and sometimes just need to sit for a minute. read more

My coworkers and I went to celebrate at the Bagel Rack today. My boss got the egg bagel with pork roll in it-she loved it. My coworker got a croissant toasted with Jelly; usually she eats slow but today she gulped it down before I could finish a quarter of my bagel. I got an everything bagel and had veggie cream cheese- perfection! I don't like Salt on my Everything bagel and today I was in luck. They said sometimes they put kosher salt on it. The hot coffee tasted like WaWa coffee- felt at home since that's my ole school Philly brand. It was very hot!! They have many different flavored cream cheeses such as honey walnut, blueberry, pumpkin, etc. They have different sandwiches and many fresh bagel options. I went through the drive-through and only got one of the three things that I ordered. When I open the bag on my way back home I realized it only one of the three things in there so I made a U-turn. I came back in and explained what happened and not an apology was given, and I got back in my car with what I thought was all three. I started my way back home when I opened the bag again just to double check and they're only two of the three things I ordered. I came back for a third time and was finally got my third bagel without an apology. The customer service here is awful. They don't know how to apologize and they have little remorse for their mistakes. I was very kind to them the entire time and it was met with nothing but sass. Bagels are good but the hours are horrible. How many customers couldn't get bagels in the afternoon?

I have been coming here for years. The food is awesome. However, recently, very poor customer service on multiple occasions First time, tried to place an order online. Their online wasn't working so we try and call in an order, which they refused to take. They offered no alternative solution and basically told us we were SOL. Obviously, could have went and ordered in person, but if you know this place, it becomes super busy and you could sit in the drive through for 20-30 minutes if you dont place an order ahead of time. The second occasion was today. Placed an order online. I immediately recognized a mistake in my online order. Immediately (within one minute) i call to have them correct the mistake. Despite the 30 minute wait time it told me when I placed the order, I was told the sandwiches were already made and they cannot do anything about it. No solutions were given. I spoke to the manager who told me the same thing. When I picked up the order, i advised of my dissatisfaction and was told the manager i spoke with was actually the owner. I sit here and wonder if The order was correct and the order was ready within a minute, but I waited the advised 30 minutes as the website stated, would I be eating a cold egg sandwich at this point. As I said, been going here for years. Food is still good but customer service had been horrid as of late. Wonder if this is the start of this business going down hill. Its a shame because I want to support small business, but when this happens I can say I wont be back here for a while. Shame since I order there almost weekly. read more
