Drive through had traffic backed up on 422. To help mitigate this situation I put an online order in at 8:50. Now the drive through is completely empty and 6 people pick up their online orders before me. No word from the bagel rack. Completely disappointed. Apparently I should have blocked traffic. Update... I have been walked by 10 times now and its been 25 minutes. A sit down restaurant can serve food faster than this. The only good thing is the food is delicious. The service at The Bagel Rack has inspired me to write my first ever review for Yelp. Unfortunately it is not good. I've visited this joint on 4 occasions for breakfast or lunch as it is right down the street from my lovely girlfriend. 1st Visit: I ordered inside. They missed my Togo order. 2nd Visit: I ordered through drive through and did not get my hash browns 3rd Visit: I ordered fries inside and did not get them. This time the manager had actually taken my order. 3 strikes out of 4 visits is just too much for me to forgive. The sandwiches are great. Bagels are good. Not very generous with the cream cheese. Also asked them to put tap water in a reusable water bottle and the clerk told me the water wasn't filtered and pointed to the bottled Dasani they sell in the cooler. The soda fountain doesn't have water tap either. read more

I'd stick with the one on Chestnut Street. They are super polite and the food is always perfect. Here the lady in charge is rude and my order is never correct or I wait 15 minutes to be told they're out of something or a bagel that was plentiful when I ordered is no longer available because they gave them all to someone in the drive through. I have come by twice and both times were very positive. This morning visit they were out of my go to, a toasted onion bagel. I ordered an Asiago, with butter, toasted dark, and coffee (more on that later) the bagel was very good, toasted just right. The butter packet was very cold, perhaps having an hour or so supply of butter out so it is closer to room temp when spread on a bagel would be an improvement. For lunch, I ordered their chicken caprese bagel sandwich. That is not normally my thing but the server said it was one of the more popular orders. They asked if I wanted it "Panini style" which I didn't understand, but sure, why not. The chicken capresse bagel sandwich served "Panini style" was excellent. The filling and sauce was just right in the grilled bagel. It was great. There is no place in the area that serves a carefully created high quality drip coffee, and this places is no exception. A bagel shop is a natural for folks who seek great coffee...I am taking that star because great coffee is such an obvious part of a morning bagel and their's is not up to the very high quality food. PLEASE prove me wrong with your coffee, because I will be back for the great bagels. read more

Come here pretty often for breakfast and never have any issues. Today when I went in I asked for my usual with no cheese. The order was not repeated back to me so when I got to the window I made sure with the girl checking me out that there was no cheese on mine. She told me there was and I asked for it without. Someone else came out and told me I'd have to pay for another sandwich.... I said I asked for it without. She rudely shut the window and someone else handed me my sandwich clearly annoyed. The bagels are fine and the staff are typically friendly. The managers need a lot of help in the art of customer service. They have a problem actually putting cream cheese on each side of the bagel. So, I go up the street where the service, quality, and prices are better. I had placed a medium sized order that I would have continued weekly (because of the variety of bagels); but not being willing to keep my bagel from being too big to eat and more like a sandwich is ridiculous. I lived in NYC and perhaps a trip to any deli to watch how they spread cream cheese on EACH side of the bagel would help. OH and a few times, the cream cheeses got mixed and my scallion cream cheese was spread with a spreader that had previously been used for a sweet cream cheese. That's happened twice and I tossed most of the bagel. Work on customer service and having managers who know how to smile! read more

I have now been to both locations and I am not impressed. Bagels are chewy; supermarket bagels are better. Everything is a la carte--butter, cream cheese etc. When I asked could I get butter on the side, I was told, we cannot do that. My first trip, the butter was an inch thick. We threw the bagels out; this time I had to stand and watch them butter them. Bagels were warm, but not really toasted. Coffee was weak; no decaf. They would have brewed it in the back, but more of a wait. They also were not sure if they could give me a glass for the bottled juice. After seeing that the selection of bagels was very low, we were not able to get our first or second choice, we picked from what was there.
