I absolutely love this place! They have made cookies for multiple wedding showers I've thrown (and my own) They've made cookies for my sisters baby shower and now mine! They also did my wedding cake and it was fantastic and STUNNING! They are so timely and respond quick. They're very accommodating. I drive 45 minutes to pickup our custom orders and it's so worth it. The Baker's Rhapsody is a gem in the small town of Dowagiac. The owner preserved the historic beauty of the building with his excellent renovations. This is a great meeting place to enjoy exceptional freshly banked pastries. There were so many I wanted to try and I chose the cinnamon roll. I enjoyed a cup of tea with mine. They also have coffee, including speciality coffees. The seating is very comfortable and has a coffee house feel. The entire establishment was exceptionally clean including the restroom. When I am in Dowagiac again, I will be enjoying another pastry from Baker's Rhapsody. read more

This cozy bakery is worth your time and money. It's gorgeous on the inside with brick walls and homey decor. They have a wide selection of pastries to choose from and the coffee was very good. So in love with this cozy corner in this beautiful space. Dowagiac has needed something like this for a long time and it has arrived. I order a fruit smoothie and a pastry and sat for a few hours to work. It was so cozy and so comfortable. Overall quiet so I could get some work done, but also so "well with the soul". My drink was excellent. I love peach and so this peach mango smoothie did not disappoint. I'm so glad this place is open. I hope between the students at SMU and locals, it stays open for a long time. I could go on and on, but I'll try and keep my reasons for loving it brief: * I have yet to have an item from The Baker's Rhapsody that's less than absolutely delicious. This includes my favorites -- cherry and raspberry cream danishes -- as well as cupcakes, bear claws, you name it. And even though I make my own iced coffee and iced green tea at home, I will occasionally treat myself to theirs since it's so good. * The team there is so friendly and welcoming, and I say this as a person who is usually not adequately caffeinated when I visit their establishment. * They take COVID protocols very seriously. They clearly put a lot of thought into a plan to keep their patrons safe, and they stick to it. I've never visited when either staff or patrons were maskless, or doing the "I'm wearing a mask, but it's not covering my nose [so why bother?'" thing. I deeply appreciate this. * That said, the space itself is really cute and well-designed, and I can't wait to visit and linger with my coffee once we're on the other side of COVID and it's safe again! Honestly, the only thing about The Baker's Rhapsody that I'm *not* crazy about is the fact that they're closed on Mondays, when I frequently find myself wanting to treat myself to kick off the week. The Bakers Rhapsody is a quaint, steampunk, modern, classy bakery with a splash of Marvel in the bathroom. I have been coming since they opened two years ago. The staff and owner, Jordan, are beyond friendly and professional. The bakery items are all freshly baked and authentic, no Panera Bread bakery here. The danishes are to die for, my favorite being the raspberry cream. The Mocha drinks are made with home made chocolate ganache. My favorite drink is the white chocolate raspberry Rhapsody. It is a mocha that is just the perfect blend of espresso, white chocolate ganache, raspberry and steamed milk. It is a great spot to relax, read, meet people and have a great conversation. One of the highlights though is the sign board, changed every Tuesday afternoon. read more

This is a really nice coffee shop for a small town. I dig the décor. I love the cream cheese danishes and pumpkin pie pockets. I sadly do not like the cupcakes. I tried a few flavors and had to toss them. The pumpkin bread is good, though a bit crumbly. I will stop in again to try some other things. read more

The danish was outstanding: burst of flavor(mine was raspberry) as soon as you bite it, very creamy and most, almost dripping. Apparently there a mini danishes that sell out first thing in the morning, would be interesting to try. Espresso drinks are dark-toast based, Giovanni beans.
