I started visiting this center after dealing with a back injury that had been ongoing for 3 months. Traditional therapy was making it worse and my doctor had stopped sending me. I knew I responded well to acupuncture so, I asked my doctor if he would agree to acupuncture as an alternative therapy. It was my last hope to feel better. After 3 visits I began to feel much better. Lisajeanne is amazing and really very knowledgeable!! She listens to you and works to balance out the pain. Her staff is friendly and I love her therapy dog Doodle who will come in to visit you if you are comfortable with that. I have been going to the Balance Center (Lisa's Magic Needles) for over 6 months and am astounded by the results. Originally I was skeptical, but it was recommended by Kaiser Permenente so I thought I'd try. Glad I did. I'd been through all the pain meds and while they worked to some extent, the side effects were daunting. I am older and have had several surgeries a total knee replacement and now am facing a total hip on both sides. So pain is a daily scourge, used to be severe. Now it is tolerable and I look forward to living. It is Lisa's clinic and she is GREAT! She is also very honest!! Acupuncture is not instantaniance, it takes time. It also is not addictive (like opiates), nor debilitating like gabapentin, the worst that can happen to one is simply that it just doesn't work. For me it is working and is for every other patient of Lisa's (I have not met any of those that it didn't work on). If you are looking for an Acupuncturist who is not only passionate and fully attentive but truly cares to help you, Lisa is the perfect match. She takes so much time and effort to listen to you and to get you feeling better. After the first 3 sessions with Lisa, I instantly started to see an improvement in my lower back (arthritis). I have been going for about 2 months now and each session gets better and better. She even lent me a book called The 4 Agreements and it went hand in hand with how I was feeling in my last session (GAD anxiety). Lisajeanne knows exactly what she is doing! I have had extremely bad headaches and woman issues for a while. I've had 4 treatments and no symptoms of headaches and woman issues by far. You are able to chose between a comfty lounge chair or table to relax in. What a fantastic idea! Parking is easy and convenient and you can also park in the back lot. The rooms are dark with no windows, easier for you to relax and take a nap! Highly recommended!!! read more

So glad I was referred to Lisajeanne. She's personable, caring and passionate. I have had an ongoing foot issue and even the Dr's. couldn't figure out what was going. Only to do what they do best....prescribe drugs for relief. Thank goodness I have an office job, however, when I go on long beach walks or futz around the house for many hours, my foot becomes pained making it difficult to walk or wear certain shoes. Well, I had one session here and already felt a difference. My pain has not been as intense. I highly recommend her office for any ailments. She can help with just about any ailment. read more

I am ashamed I haven't written this review sooner as I feel strongly that Lisajeanne and The Balance Center are one of the best resources that I have for my overall health. I've been going to The Balance Center every week for 4 years now and I can honestly say that I have found relief from all of the ailments that I have requested treatment for. In all honesty, I seek treatment with Lisajeanne first for most of my non-major health concerns (general pain, insomnia, digestive issues, headaches, ect) over heading to the doctor's office. My weekly treatments have kept my sciatica in check and because of this relief, I'm able to live with minimal pain and discomfort. After just setting foot in the door, the relaxing music, clean and comfortable, spa-like atmosphere, and friendly staff make me feel more relaxed, making my treatment a great way to unwind from a busy day. Each of the treatment rooms are clean and comfortable and most times I end up feeling so relaxed and at ease, that I end up falling asleep. Lisajeanne is great and you can tell that she tries to create a personal connection with all of her patients. In addition to your treatment, Lisajeanne also has a vast amount of knowledge about holistic/homeopathic healing and she will also help you consider other dietary/lifestyle adjustments that may contribute to the healing of your ailments that you are being treated for. I have been coming to this Acupuncture clinic foe 4 years, after I had two back surgeries and was in constant pain even after the surgeries I found Acupuncture was the best alternative to the conventional pain killers doctors prescribed. Lisajeanne is absolutely amazing! I've been going to the Balance Center for two years now, and she has helped me SOOOO much! She really listens to your description of what's hurting or needs treatment, and is always very caring and gentle with the placement of the needles. On a recent visit, I actually felt relief (from head to toe) within 20 minutes of starting treatment. The day before, I had a shot which resulted in several side effects, incl muscle aches, elevated temperature, and overall pain/achiness. After she placed the needles and left, I was sitting in the darkened room for awhile and suddenly felt cooler. I thought - she must have turned on the a/c. Then I noticed I felt better all over and thought - this couldn't be just from the a/c. When she came back, I asked if they turned on the a/c and she said - no, why? Then I realized it was all because of her perfect placement of the needles for this treatment. You should give her a try if you're having any pain, or ongoing health issues. It is a very lovely location that focuses on a calm and relaxing atmosphere - which is almost enough to pay for alone. Lisa was very kind and a font of information. I went here with high hopes for help with my back pain. I left with more problems! Pain in my right hand (from the needles) that went all the way to the elbow. I still have hand and wrist problems that have been confirmed by two doctors and two physical therapists as probable nerve damage. I wasn't able to play piano for days, and am still limited. I hope this is not a forever thing, I have enough problems. Odds of improving from this place are not good for all. read more

I love this clinic. I have had many sessions here. It's relaxing and peaceful.

At the end of November, I hurt my lower back really bad and was bed ridden for 2+ weeks with the most intense pain I have ever experienced (worse than labor). After 6 sessions, I'm doing incredible! My pain level went from a 7 on a good day to now a 3 on a bad day (fortunately most days are good and my pain is almost non-existent). I was referred to Lisajeanne several months ago and have been going to her since. She is so knowledgeable, kind and caring. I went to her for something pretty rare called burning mouth. The medical community said there was no cure and wanted to fill me with prescription meds that have side effects. Lisajeanne is very good at her craft and a knowledgeable, compassionate person as well. It is impossible for me to leave her clinic without feeling better physically and spiritually. I started with my visits in 2010. I had never in my 50+ years had good results from non traditional medical practices but I was at my wits end to get off of the pain medications (vicodin, oxycodone, dilaudid) that were necessary to control my pain. Lisajeanne sat down with me and discussed what she hoped to accomplish with her course of treatment. She patiently (necessary for a skeptic like me) explained that if I came in two times a week for three weeks that by then we would know if acupuncture was going to work for me. The day after the third visit, I started feeling measurably better. I continued to improve and after the third week decided to continue on a weekly basis. During that time I was also able to stop taking the heavy duty pain medications. I continued on a weekly basis for six weeks and then went to every other week. After several months I stopped going in on a regular basis. A year later, I re-injured my spine. The traditional doctors wanted to give me more drugs to help with the pain but instead, I insisted on going back to Lisajeanne. She again worked her magic and three months later I am again pain free. No one, including Lisajeanne, can be sure if acupuncture will help your situation. By putting yourself in her hands you will have the best chance of it changing your life as it has for me. read more
