Jesse is truly a craftsman when it comes to cutting hair and notices the details for a proper cut while ensuring you have an enjoyable experience. The shop is clean with a big waiting area but the pros know to book directly with Jesse on the website. They use quality products that smell great and even suggested a natural beard balm for my beard which I appreciated. I have thick wavy hair and a long beard which is easy to screw up for a novice. I'm super disappointed I came in as a walk in and I was told I would be next. Then an appointment walked in and she then said sorry you have to wait for the next cut. This place is very cool. They are super friendly and do a pretty good job cutting hair. The place is wide open so if you don't like 15 other people staring at you while your getting a hair cut don't go. It's not very private. Also they don't seem to clean very often as I had to step over someone else's hair to get in the chair. I think she brushed the hair off the chair first but not very well. I don't think the clippers were cleaned either. Now some people may not mind that, but I usually like things a little cleaner. But all in all not bad. read more

Jesse straight-razor shaved my face and head. He is good at what he does and takes pride in his work. I'm from San Diego, but visit Yuma frequently and would have zero hesitations about making another appt to get my regular shaving done. However, I'm giving one star because most of the barbers do not wear masks, social distance, or sanitize their chairs in between clients. They should respect their other coworkers (like Chris, who is a senior) at the very least and follow the county mask mandate. I am going to take a break from coming here because the no mask entitlement is gross and upsetting. read more

I heard good things about this place. Turns out they were all true. They give a fantastic barbershop haircut. They pay attention to detail like how you like your sideburns and neck and even trim some of the miscellaneous weird harassing my ear send out my eyebrows. One of my favorite things (my barber Jesse says he's the only barbershop in Yuma to do it) is they use compressed air to to blow away all the stray hairs. They have tv's and are chatty enough. Lots of Harley memorabilia on the walls. Parking was easy on a weekday. If you go on a weekend park on the street if the lot is full. read more

Was excited to find and visit The BarberShop. Lots of good reviews and centrally located, I went in and the luck of the draw gave me Brittney to give me the best haircut I have had in decades... The test of a great haircut is when you wash your hair a day or two later and it sill looks great and is easy to comb and care for! Have been in twice since, and although I called ahead each time to make sure Brittany would be there, I was disappointed to arrive only to find that "she has the day off". The gal cutting my hair used the electric clippers for the most part and used the scissors sparingly. She did not even out my hair on the sides so my hair was short on the sides and longer hair just kind of flopped down over it. Should have been shaped! Nice and clean establishment but poor excuse for Barbershop of the year. First of all, it was mighty convenient that when my name was next the first available barber left for the day. When I finally got in the chair the barber cutting my hair act like she was scared of my hair. Finally, at the completion of my so called hair cut she asked if I wanted a line up. Uh...of course I want a line up, that comes along with a haircut right? Additionally she DID NOT use any alcohol or some sort of bacteria cleaner after cutting my hair which she used the very same clippers on customers before me! I would not recommend this barbershop unless you are used to getting a 10 minute "Bowl" cut. I think the barbershop award of the year should take into account the talent of their barbers and their abilities to be diverse in cutting different grades of hair! read more

Okay we all need a hair cut from time to time and while I was in Yuma I used yelp to find a barber shop. I found The Barber Shop on 24th street. Wow! What a nice shop with a very clean look and TVs everywhere. They have a motorcycle theme to the shop with 5 chairs, great magazine and wonderful barbers. Catherine was my barber and she took her time and did a great job. Every time I'm in yuma I will stop by for a hair cut or a clean up. They are kid friendly and can do hot shaves as well. It is easy to see why they have been number one in Yuma for years running. The shop is a little hard to see but once inside you are welcomed with some form of introduction and feel at home. This is a guy barbershop with the register sitting on a toolbox and everything. The prices are great and each individual gets a great haircut that they take their time on. Fantastic Barber shop! They have 10 chairs and they are generally all filled. During the weekend they are a tad busy but the wait isn't long due to all the employees. Establishment is clean and and creatively themed. They offer affordable prices and discounts for Military. They give some of the best fades in town and offer electric and straight razor fades. Highly recommend coming here if you're stationed at MCAS, a permanent resident, or if you're just stopping through town and need a great haircut. read more

The hubby and son went to get their lucious locks chopped off and we discovered a shop with fantastic customer service. The owner kept us engaged in a lively conversation about Harley motorcycles while maticulously sculpting a head of hair. No 5 minute rush jobs here. Each of my guys had their hair worked on for a while...each hairdresser giving her full attention and time to the job at hand. And the price? Wow. $11 for my husband and $8 for my son. Really great atmosphere, cool Harley Davidson stuff hanging on the walls. The barbers are top notch, shout out to Billy, Brit and Jesse. I've never left with a haircut I didn't like or love. Plenty of barbers so the wait isn't too long even on the busy days. Watch out for Sundays or Holiday Monday's because the Marines will take it over before they go back to work.
