Rarely do I leave a bad review- but I can't rate this above a 2... Our waitress was very nice and friendly but so slow. I asked for a water twice and after the 3rd time finally got it. It took her forever to take our drink and food order. Our drinks were good though and reasonably priced at $5.00 for beer. Our food was okay. My husband had a mushroom burger and I had the chicken quesadilla with yam fries. It was just alright. Kind of cold when it came out. I had to get up and get our cutlery because we had none and our waitress was MIA... It was very warm in the restaurant as well. No AC on and plus 35 outside. It wasn't super busy either so I'm not sure what was happening with the service. We ordered two beers and two meals and were there for over 2 hours. We would've ordered another couple drinks but we're pretty much ignored and could see we weren't the only patrons having issues. Next time we will try somewhere else... read more

Came here for a family reunion. We were staying at the hotel, and came for afternoon drinks & snacks. There was nearly 20 of us, and it wasn't busy. Somehow they couldn't figure out seating arraignments, so we had one big table and then another small one pushed awkwardly off to the side. I ordered a Bellini, it was disappointing. It was very runny, in a small glass and not the best I've ever had. It was also fairly pricy. My husband ordered a Bulldog, which was supposed to be a Corona upside down in frozen lime Margarita. Well, there was a Corona, but it came with a bright orange children's plastic pail ( see photo ) instead of a glass, and the "Margarita" was more like runny lime muck. It was not what he was expecting. However -the pail got many laughs and comments. #awkward We weren't given time to really look over the menu before the server asked what we wanted. We requested time to peruse, but she stood there impatiently, and asked again. I would of loved to been given some time, but as we were not - I quickly chose the Beef dip. My husband had the spicy chicken burger. Mine was ok - not memorable. It wasn't bad, it wasn't amazing. His chicken was coated with an inch thick batter making it too large to bite into. I don't know if it was due to the fact we were in a large group or what, but the quality and service left something to be desired. Also note, on the Friday and Saturday nights we stayed there, this place turned into a very packed, very loud night club with a huge line up. All of the food and drinks were delicious, the first night we had Pina Colodas, Blue Hawaiians, fish tacos and fried pickles. The tacos were so good we had to come back a second night for them! Not good....slow service even though there were waitresses seemingly everywhere. Chicken wings for sure frozen and even tasted it...you could almost taste the freezer in them?? This is one of our favourite stops. Good value. Good food. Service is mostly good. Love their chicken Shawarma with hot sauce. My husband loves their chicken fingers. Manager has decided to have their women Dressed in short skirts - small tank tops. Bar has scenic views great music... why have your star waitresses treated so? Additionally service was okay... if your party is not larger than 2 and tips are not large. Do not expect to be served with enthusiasm. Either than that.... wonderful view, great band. read more

This is the place to be late night in Penticton. Definitely need to get drunk and be gone before the lights turn on but it's definitely a fun spot to shamelessly dance the night away. Roll your way here and roll your way home. Kind of annoying to pay cover and cash only after 10 though. read more

Located right on the water in the casino. Small menu but the food was surprisingly good. And very reasonable prices! Our server was also wonderful and very attentive. My only negative surprise was how the manager dealt with a belligerent customer sitting beside us. The customer was upset over the way a dish was prepared and maybe had already had several drinks. The waitress explained and apologized. She went to take the plate as she offered to remake it. Except this customer wanted to berate her for personally ruining his evening. After several apologies and rushing to remake his meal, the manager came to check the situation out. And this is where my surprise came from; he didn't defend his waitress. Instead, when the customer blamed the way the situation was handled (and in my opinion, she handled it perfectly, so much that we explained the situation to the manager from our point of view), he suggested it was based on her age. And the manager sort of agreed. Perhaps he was trying to make the situation better, but he was undermining his waitress at the same time. I would still return! read more

Worst management by far! Not only could the waitress not suggesting one of their drinks to me or ask me if I wanted a drink !!! but their new menu they put out had none of the new food ! This place is fine, but they're more issues like watering down drinks (a lot). They seem to be less and less friendly if you are in a bigger group. They are a way to busy in the summer months to have a good time mostly at night tho read more

Will be back on a hot summer Friday night !! UPDATE ; back a year later. This place needs some Serous elbow grease. Run down, patio is dirty and unorganized. Had the deep fried pickles they were served cold in the middle, waitress asked how there where so we told her they were cold.said "sorry about that" didn't seem to care. This place was recommended to my friend visiting from California. when we checked the reviews we were scared. We went anyways thinking we would always wonder if we didn't give it a try. We had a great lunch!! The setting on the lake is lovely with outdoor seating. The lunch menu a bargain! The fried pickles were fabulous!! We were really happy we went. We were in town for an exhibition and after a few hours of walking were looking for a good place to have a bite and relax. Not living in Penticton we asked a local for some ideas. A few places were suggested, the Barking Parrot was one. It took us a while to find it, even using 2 different gps. It took us to the Lakeside Resort alright but there was no signage (that we saw) that indicated the pub was inside. Poor planning! We then parked in the parkade as there was only metered street parking otherwise. Prices marked for the parkade were exorbitant I thought, and as it turned out the ticket dispenser didn't work anyway. To confirm I wouldn't get ticketed I did talk to the front desk in the hotel and he graciously gave us a pass to put on the dash. We sat quickly once at the pub. The lake view is beautiful if you are seated near the floor to ceiling windows. The visuals pretty much ended there. The pub itself is showing it's age, appeared to need a cleaning, and was definitely due for some renovations. Not at all what I expected for such a location. Our server came promptly and was very courteous and accommodating. The menu was quite limited and I was surprised to not see something as staple as fish'n chips. I thought that was a mandatory pub dish. We ordered a couple drinks and our meals. Drinks came quickly and in a reasonable time I got my hamburger and my wife the chicken strips she ordered. The balance of the visit was unremarkable. The food we ordered, while plain, was plentiful, tasty, and in that regard I likely could have chosen 4 stars. In absence of that 3 stars is fair. Group of six of us came in for a quick dinner, unfortunately it was terrible food with marginal service at best. We didn't expect an exceptional meal being a pub style restaurant, but hoped for something reasonable. The food under-delivered so poorly that I had to do a review on it. Worst bar/pub in Penticton. My bf cut his leg and finger on broken glass that was on the seats. We had already placed our order and received drinks. My bf got a few band aids from the waitress. When we told them of what happened we were told the mgr would come speak to us. Finished our meal and received our bill............no discount at all. I asked to speak to the mgr and I was directed to him. Went over to him, told him what happened and all he did was give me the club's card. They had my bf's credit card so we couldn't just leave. He allowed unprofessional behaviour by some staff and customers and when approached with a complaint by patrons he was aggressive and arrogant. Horrible experience. Rude staff and 'manager'. Wouldn't honor a simple coupon for b1g1 appetizers and the manager made it look like we where crooks and liars. It's a tradition every year to go here to eat for family member who passed away years ago... now thanks to the rude customer service and for making the mother of the son cry by the way they treated her we won't be coming stepping foot here anymore. My wife and I went there early Sept for a light dinner. Well, what a mistake that turned out to be. The servers were friendly, the weather was fine. When we received our bill, there was a charge for 2 drinks that i did not order. When I asked for the manager(I think his name was Brandon), And explained the error, He looked at me and said, "Quit lying, I know you drank them." Well, needless to say, I was shocked.
