First time at White Spot. I did not onow what to expect. It's kinda like a Dennys as far as the atmosphere. I ordered a summer deal that was burger, Ceasars salad and blueberry pie. It was $20, pint of craft beer for $7.50. I thought it was good value. The kids meals have choice of steamed veggies and cone in a pirate box. The wife had teriyaki chicken bowl and said it was good. Went here for breakfast. In the entryway was tons of feathers?! It was off putting wondering what happened to a pigeon this morning. Food was ok but no pancakes and crispy bacon was requested but not delivered. Overall 6/10. The area is overrun with addicts! Saw a guy out front in the bushes peeing. A large, newly renovated White Spot in the center of town. We stopped in here for lunch and were happy that they didn't mind that we were wet from tubing down the canal. Of course, we were wearing clothes over our swimsuits, but we were still wet. No problem, they said. Our waitress was fantastic. She was so busy yet constantly filling drinks, etc... She even had to do bar work since there was no bartender and she dealt with a high maintenance table that was next to us. The food was ok. My sister really enjoyed her friend zucchini. The pieces were really large and she preferred that to the skinny ones we get back home. My dad and sister loved their burgers with the Triple O sauce. My husband liked his fish and chips. My sandwich appeared to be the only one that was disappointing. The chicken ciabatta sandwich was no better than burger king. The chicken was a compressed piece of white meat. I would definitely not recommend it. My nephew loved that his food came in a paper boat kid's meal. The service is great but the food is hit or miss. I think I'll skip the chicken sandwich and try something different. read more

This is a great place for breakfast. The staff are great, the food was hot and absolutely amazing. We are from Alberta and the Whitespots are nowhere near being this good. I highly recommend coming in here for breakfast, lunch, and even dinner. The drink menus are new and look super refreshing. I am in penticton for 3 days and I will definitely be back. read more

It's been over 30 years since I've been to Penticton. I've never been to the White Spot. Pleasantly surprised. Great food - I had the beef dip. Awesome! She had the brie burger. Fun kids menu - they have a choice of 4 mains, 4 sides and 4 desserts; the kids build their own meal. They also get crayons and paper full of activities to keep them busy while you wait for your food. The service was very attentive - much appreciated. We would definitely come back. Thanks! read more

We have been to white spot penticton, main st , 2 times in last 2 weeks. Today we went in for lunch. Our turkey dinner was terrible, it tasted like packaged gravy, the broc and carrots tasted like freezer burn, terrible. I mentioned it to the waitress and she asked if I wanted another order of the vegs? Why? the first ones were terrible. Now for the prices, is Corporate nuts ? The pices are ridiculous! I ordered a cup of tea $4.29 ( a box of tea at grocery store was under $4 ... ) The prices have skyrocketed, the food is no where near as good as it was even a year ago, gone down hill for sure. When I went to pay I was expecting there to be a discount for the 2 plates of crappy veggies,there was not. The right and proper way to handle a situation like that is to discount 10% or to only charge for one meal. Denny's is by far the better food, better prices and they automatically discount is there are any issues with the meal. Whitespot needs to smarten up. read more

As a life-long resident of British Columbia and, for many years, a Greater Vancouver resident, I have a close and enduring relationship with the White Spot restaurant chain. In fact, when I was in high school, I was a car hop at the Whalley location back in the 70s. They've been faithfully working the burger/diner hybrid for decades (established in 1928) and I'm sure they're not going anywhere. Our local White Spot had a kitchen fire a year or so ago and so it was with great anticipation that I looked forward to the new facility that rose from the ashes on the same location. For what it's worth, the building and the interior design is step up from the usual modified coffee shop and rows of booths you see in other places. It definitely has some West Coast appeal with plenty of finished wood and towering windows. Looking out those windows at the Main street strip retail blight is no cause for joy but the light coming is a great addition to the ambiance. The occasion was the monthly meeting of the Okanagan Burger Tour (you can find us on Facebook). Our group goes to different places and eats a burger and exchanges notes. Mostly, it's just an opportunity to eat and chat in real life. Simple, but it works. My burger, the Monty Mushroom burger, met my expectations in the flavour, composition and temperature categories. But let's cut to the chase - you can go to one of their drive thru Triple O's or another location to get a taste fix. But avoid this location for at least, oh, let's say, three more months. Here's why: - they opened over a month ago from the date of this review. They invited our group, we reminded them we were excited to be coming and they still lost the reservation. - the service is so uneven it makes you wonder if anyone knows what they're supposed to be doing. At one point we were smothered with attention, 10 minutes later we couldn't find a server. The servers are learning to apologize in many different ways for mistakes of their own making and some that are beyond their control. I especially enjoyed one server who insisted one of our group was 'wrong' and, in fact, 'this' is what you ordered. Classy. -food presentation is erratic at best. I may be a little picky on this but it you're going to plate your famous coleslaw (?) why bury it under the French fries? - You're a month into full opening and you don't have a liquor license? Words fail this kind of clusterfudge. Big highlight was the pumpkin pie. Topped with whip cream and a side smear of caramel, it almost seemed like fresh made homestyle pie. I'm pretty sure the whip is being cracked as I write this and changes for the better are in store for this location. I won't be back until I hear some good reports from trusted sources. read more

The servers here were so hospitable and sweet, and the food was awesome! I had the BBQ chicken salad which came with grilled barbecue chicken, bacon, apples, grapes, candied pecans, radishes and two slices of buttered garlic bread on the side. The salad was just the right size for a meal-- not to big, not too small. I loved my meal and so did the rest of the group. Our service was lacking but not outrageously bad. It just seems like people work there but don't really know what they're doing/have direction! The hostess was not paying any attention and we waited by the door while she chatted with another employee, before I asked her if we could be seated. We had made eye contact a few times so I was hoping she wouldn't need me to ask. It's not uncommon to see the manager bustling around, but I have yet to see them lift a finger to help the serving staff. The food was typical for White Spot - although I had a really depressing Western plate added to my meal to share with my husband. We normally get 4-5 onion rings and this time we got 3 very small ones and a wilted Caesar salad with a scarce amount of dressing. I sent it back and was given a much better looking, fresh salad. After dropping off our food, our server came by twice more and did not fill up our drinks so we just asked for the bill and left. The server was friendly but the attention to detail wasn't there. I like White Spot so I'll keep going, just not to this one. read more

My family went to White Spot for breakfast Aug 10 -- at this time of year, in Penticton, you can't throw a rock without hitting a fresh fruit stand. Yet White Spot was serving mushy frozen blueberries on its signature waffle, which may have been "homemade" as the menu suggested but the waffle was then surely frozen. It was hard, crusty and stale. My wife's toast was hard and brittle, somehow the 'crispy' bacon was rendered tasteless, and my son's pancakes had two hard brown sides. He had to break through the crust and scoop out some soft bits. The final bill: $50. We provided a $10 tip because the service was fine. But the food was underwhelming at best. How can you mess up a fresh fruit waffle in the middle of summer in the Okanagan? The mind boggles. read more

What a shame to have all family together today and to just get the bare minimum for service. Yes busy in there so then get one or two more servers on shift, yes??? They have a nice bar in place too so why not utilize this aspect and play more than just the CFL game where BC got blown out! I asked NICELY to get one of the 3 tvs tuned into an NFL game as a Sunday and just IGNORED! That threw me off as no reason to just change as no sound was on anyways. I've been here often but on May 31, 2014 we went in with 8 people and the service was absolutely fantastic! We were served promptly and the food came quickly. The waitress had help to deal with the group. Food was good all around. I tried the spicy BBQ burger and loved it although it was dripping with sauce. Highly recommended! read more

Just ordered a teriyaki bowl for $16.99 and got a dried out chicken breast with crispy old rice, no sauce and like 6 vegetables total. Called and spoke to a manager (apparently) who offered me a two dollar off coupon and said I'd have to talk to skip the dishes about my order, though I didn't order through them even. Told her that and I said I didn't want two dollars off but a refund or credit, she said she can't do a credit without leaving a note for the next day (what?) Or that I'd have to drive back for a refund. No offer to remake it properly even, which I wouldn't have taken anyway. Terrible food and customer service. Won't be going there or ordering takeout again as this isn't the first time we've gotten subpar food and service from them. read more

This was very disappointing, and I usually only like to post review that are positive. But this was baaaaad. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the food was tasty and the host and her trainee were very polite. But our server was terrible. We almost got up and walked out but were so tired from travelling and we were so hungry. Service was slow, we were ignored, and it took forever to get our bill. Also, the sinks were not working in the ladies bathroom, which was awkward. I would check out other options. read more

I've been a faithful White Spot patron as far back as I can remember. Over the 30+ years I've been going, I've seen the "evolution" of their concept, visited more locations than I can count and seen a lot of different things in their locations. Speaking to the White Spot brand as a whole; I am beyond disappointed with the menu now. Gone are the days of the drive in style menu. Along with that, gone are the days of quality. Fries are no longer chipped on site; and instead come in chipped in a bag of water. Nothing appears to be fresh any longer. Some classics have been removed from the menu. I long for the days of the chicken pick'n and house made macaroni and cheese. The newer items are all well and good for the most part, but they are so far away from the original that it's a turn off. As for this specific location, there is nothing positive to say about it. The service is barely passable, the food is terrible and the speed of food and service is completely lacking. I am yet to enjoy a meal here. I'll save White Spot as a treat for while traveling. read more
