When we contacted Reverend Steven Salsbury we told him we wanted a completely non-religious ceremony. He told us, "I probably do twice as many non religious ceremonies so it's no issue for me." He sent his version of a non-religious ceremony, and it had religious references in it. He then told us we could write our own and he would follow it. Just days prior to our wedding he emailed saying he had lost the script we wrote, so I forwarded him the previous email I had sent him with the attachment. Maybe this was an honest mistake but with everything else, my opinion is; Seriously!?! Did he delete an important document, or does he not know how to use email? We spent weeks writing the script for our ceremony and he did not follow it in order, which caused problems with flow. We wrote it in a specific order for several reasons and he blew it! As he read it from his tablet it sounded like he was doing so for the first time. He also added to the ceremony, including some religious references. He tried to convince us we did not need to sign our marriage license. He even said "you've already signed it." When I asked to see it he agreed that we do need to sign it before he got it open. He was surprised we had an addressed, stamped envelop for the license and asked if the county had provided it. If this was the first time in 30 years he worked with a prepared couple I am shocked because the county clerk, who has had her job 16 years, advised us to have one ready. When anyone asks for a wedding officiant recommendation I will most certainly tell them to stay away from this guy. He was unprofessional, arrogant, and condescending. All in all I felt like I was dealing with a conman. Upon checking the original registered date of his website I found none of the reviews on any website are older then that date. My guess is he started doing weddings around the beginning of 2019. The only two things he did correctly was sign the license and drop it in the mail after I made sure it was properly signed and the envelop was sealed. NEGATIVE 5 STARS!

Throughout our time with Karolina, she was very unorganized, forgetting many details that had…read morealready been discussed. We spoke to her a few times about her lack of organization, but she didn't seem to correct it. Karolina may need and assistant as she seems too busy. I wrote out all of the details so she wouldn't forget and I also provided the venue with a copy as back up. Karolina did not seem comfortable with conversing via phone so it was difficult to reach her. She sent long emails, ignoring our preference of communicating via phone due to our busy work schedule. Karolina's true lack of organization was obvious during our wedding rehearsal, as she did not know what to do. Everyone was lost because she didn't bring copies of the ceremony schedule. It was very embarrassing for our wedding party and the venue staff to keep telling us how unorganized, overwhelmed, and how much of an amateur she looked, and how rude she was to them when they asked simple questions. I explained to Karolina that she was unorganized and everyone could see it. She stormed off screaming "I am organized. I am organized", which was one of the most unprofessional and bizarre moments I have ever experienced. Karolina disappeared many times during our almost THREE hour rehearsal, leaving us to figure things out. She left without apologizing or even saying bye to me. The rehearsal put us behind 2 hours, which forced us to cancel our welcome reception for out of town guests. We had to be the mediator for some issues Karolina and our vendors had. Our makeup schedule was thrown off because Karolina lied about sending the wedding day timeline to our makeup artist. BUYER BEWARE: She will make up lies about us firing "many wedding coordinators and florist" , which is SIMPLY NOT TRUE. Not apologizing for how much stress she gave us, as SPECIFICALLY cited above, not addressing her performance, and completely making up lies, truly shows her true colors.

I would like to give you a balanced review in which I tell you all the good things but also mention things to be wary of, but unfortunately I cannot-- I don't have a single negative thing to say! If there is one thing in our wedding planning that was absolutely worth every penny (and more!), it was hiring Karolina on as our day-of coordinator. She is by far the most reasonably and affordably priced day-of that we've seen, and her dedication to your wedding cannot be matched (and will be apparent immediately). As far as "value for the cost"-- look no further! She is priced WAY below the "big name" (and not so "big name") coordinators, and her attention to every one of YOUR details will make you feel like you've gotten away with a steal! She never asks you anything twice-- she will know every detail of your dream and vision as well as you do! While she is a "day-of" coordinator, her work starts the moment you hire her and she communicates with you and your vendors constantly up until the moment you say "I do." Her response time via email is almost immediate, and you never have to wait more than a few hours. In fact, she often emailed me reminders and such before I even had to contact her! I don't communicate very well over the phone, so I can't comment on her availability via phone, but if she is at all as attentive by phone as she is by email, you have will have no problem! The timeline that she creates is very thorough and very helpful. She helped keep everything organized and moving throughout the wedding process. She actively communicates with all of your vendors throughout your planning and the day of your wedding, and I didn't worry about anything on my wedding day-- I knew she had it covered! She is very friendly, and her demeanor is pleasant. This is a plus when she's dealing with wedding issues, as people feel comfortable around her and do not feel like they're being yelled at. She was punctual and professional, and was always there to help with "emergencies," even if it wasn't outlined in her job description (i.e. I forgot vase marbles and she was there with a full bag!!). Overall, I highly highly recommend her as your day-of coordinator!!

Don't choose Memory Makers Entertainment!…read more We booked Memory Makers fifteen months prior to our wedding and thought we would be able to check one task off the list, but booking Memory Makers led to more headaches than any other aspect of our wedding. We had a minor issue with the check when we paid for the DJ immediately after booking. We began trying to connect with Dave Woll, Memory Maker's owner, in April of 2018 to verify everything had been straightened out with the check. We tried calling, emailing, and sending messages to Memory Maker's Facebook page, but didn't get a response until November of 2018 when we finally sent a message to Dave's personal Facebook account. Dave's four word response to our months-long attempts to get in touch with him left us with little assurance that we'd have a DJ the night of our wedding. Approximately three weeks before our wedding, we provided our DJ (Andres) with our song list and once again got silence in return. After reaching out to Andres and Dave several times, we had to resort to our wedding venue's event coordinator to help us get a response from Memory Makers. Dave emailed us THREE DAYS prior to our wedding that DJ Andres was no longer available. As you can imagine, we were left in a panic not only because of this new but our calls to Dave that night went unanswered. When we finally got a call back, Dave tried to "fix" the situation by having a DJ at our Saturday wedding (our wedding was actually on a Friday). After so many headaches, lack of communication, lack of professionalism we decided to go with another DJ company. Save yourself the stress of having to worry about whether you'll have a DJ on your important occasion. Do NOT book Memory Makers Entertainment for your Chicagoland event.

We had an amazing time and so did everyone else. So many compliments from the guests and tons of people on the dance floor all night. The DJ honored my rule of no requests from the guests and had them visit me and my husband (then fiancé) before anything was approved to be played. He also did not play any Justin Bieber or country music (also noted). Juan was very sarcastic (which I love) and fun to be around. He made everything about us and was very attentive to any concerns I had through the whole process. I would definitely recommend memory makers for any future events or to others. So happy!!! Arin is so full of ideas, kindness, and energy- she took my vision of color and RAN WITH IT... leading all of our vendors to create the absolute night of my dreams. Arin is incredibly responsive (nights, weekends, ALWAYS), organized, and creative. She wished me luck and sent me coffee before my dress shopping, asked for updates during my bachelorette, and even texted mere DAYS after giving birth to wish me well on wedding day. Arin shines so bright - and is a safe space in what can be a crazy/confusing industry. I am so thankful to Arin for the happiest night of my life- looking back, there isn't ONE THING I would change. We had the privilege of working with Susan and Johnna. Susan is a visionary who can help you dream big and tap into your imagination, and Johnna makes all your dreams realities. Our event was held at 1970 N Lincoln (formerly Stanleys), which has been closed for almost a decade. Susan and Johnna were magicians and made the venue come to life, ensuring we had the epic dance party we envisioned. No detail was left unattended, from the creative catering to the security to the coat check to the lighting, the DJ, the party's flow, and then some. After the event, there was an issue with our bus company in which one bus never arrived. BCB was able to get a last-minute bus to come, all without letting me know, so that I could enjoy the party and not stress. I cannot recommend them enough. I only wish I had another party to throw so I could work with them again. If you're looking for an incredibly creative, thoughtful, detail-oriented, fun-loving, caring team to throw your next big event, look no further than Big City Bride. They are THE BEST!
