Throughout our time with Karolina, she was very unorganized, forgetting many details that had already been discussed. We spoke to her a few times about her lack of organization, but she didn't seem to correct it. Karolina may need and assistant as she seems too busy. I wrote out all of the details so she wouldn't forget and I also provided the venue with a copy as back up. Karolina did not seem comfortable with conversing via phone so it was difficult to reach her. She sent long emails, ignoring our preference of communicating via phone due to our busy work schedule. Karolina's true lack of organization was obvious during our wedding rehearsal, as she did not know what to do. Everyone was lost because she didn't bring copies of the ceremony schedule. It was very embarrassing for our wedding party and the venue staff to keep telling us how unorganized, overwhelmed, and how much of an amateur she looked, and how rude she was to them when they asked simple questions. I explained to Karolina that she was unorganized and everyone could see it. She stormed off screaming "I am organized. I am organized", which was one of the most unprofessional and bizarre moments I have ever experienced. Karolina disappeared many times during our almost THREE hour rehearsal, leaving us to figure things out. She left without apologizing or even saying bye to me. The rehearsal put us behind 2 hours, which forced us to cancel our welcome reception for out of town guests. We had to be the mediator for some issues Karolina and our vendors had. Our makeup schedule was thrown off because Karolina lied about sending the wedding day timeline to our makeup artist. BUYER BEWARE: She will make up lies about us firing "many wedding coordinators and florist" , which is SIMPLY NOT TRUE. Dear Future Bride, I am happy to give you nothing but my utmost recommendation that you book Karolina and book her now! I would like to give you a balanced review in which I tell you all the good things but also mention things to be wary of, but unfortunately I cannot-- I don't have a single negative thing to say! If there is one thing in our wedding planning that was absolutely worth every penny (and more!), it was hiring Karolina on as our day-of coordinator. She is by far the most reasonably and affordably priced day-of that we've seen, and her dedication to your wedding cannot be matched (and will be apparent immediately). As far as "value for the cost"-- look no further! She is priced WAY below the "big name" (and not so "big name") coordinators, and her attention to every one of YOUR details will make you feel like you've gotten away with a steal! She never asks you anything twice-- she will know every detail of your dream and vision as well as you do! While she is a "day-of" coordinator, her work starts the moment you hire her and she communicates with you and your vendors constantly up until the moment you say "I do." Her response time via email is almost immediate, and you never have to wait more than a few hours. In fact, she often emailed me reminders and such before I even had to contact her! I don't communicate very well over the phone, so I can't comment on her availability via phone, but if she is at all as attentive by phone as she is by email, you have will have no problem! The timeline that she creates is very thorough and very helpful. She helped keep everything organized and moving throughout the wedding process. She actively communicates with all of your vendors throughout your planning and the day of your wedding, and I didn't worry about anything on my wedding day-- I knew she had it covered! She is very friendly, and her demeanor is pleasant. This is a plus when she's dealing with wedding issues, as people feel comfortable around her and do not feel like they're being yelled at. She was punctual and professional, and was always there to help with "emergencies," even if it wasn't outlined in her job description (i.e. I forgot vase marbles and she was there with a full bag!!). Karolina made my wedding effortless. When I met her, I had only selected a venue and was desperate for guidance. She narrowed down the vendor search to 2-3 recommendations for everything, which was a HUGE time-saver. The vendors she recommended were so unbelievably talented and professional. I was happy with every recommendation I received. She assisted in setting up meetings and jumped to my rescue when problems occurred. (For example--I had a bad first hair trial, and I couldn't get a response from the vendor to set up another trial. Karolina contacted the vendor immediately, and I got a response an hour later.) She checked in with me every month and responded to emails and texts within hours. I didn't even need my own timeline--she kept my wedding planning on track with every step. You can tell she is very experienced, and she thinks of all the details that a bride might forget. My reception was at the Adler Planetarium. I believe Karolina had never coordinated a wedding there, but she is so competent that she made me feel like I floated through the day--I had no stress, and I didn't have to think, coordinate, or plan anything the whole time. She is tasteful and made the venue look glamorous. She kept the timeline for the night on track. She only contacted me once or twice the whole night about easy things--the rest of the time she worked in the background to make the night flawless. Without her, the mess with our Event Manager at the DT, could really have ruined our reception. She was ALWAYS quick to respond to my emails throughout our whole planning process. When we first started planning our wedding, I felt like having a day-of coordinator was more of a "nice-to-have" than a "necessity" - after going through the whole process, I have no clue how brides ever go without them!! Karolina was there and available throughout the whole time, but she was the most involved in the 4-6 weeks leading up to the wedding. She attended a final meeting and venue walkthrough a month prior and was a huge help both for myself and my venue coordinator. My venue's coordinator was very "by the book" - if I asked for anything out of the norm, it was kind of a fight to get it done. Karolina was a great advocate for what I wanted and making sure I was comfortable and happy with how things were turning out. She also proposed lots of ideas and questions for our coordinator, which I think was a big help to her. My uncle officiated the wedding, so I was especially nervous about the rehearsal. I really didn't want to be in the position of telling people when to go where! Karolina ran it seamlessly and again provided lots of ideas and covered things I never would have thought of (like the order of the recessional and making sure that all of the groomsmen had the same hand on top the other to make for cohesive pictures.) I was in the bridal party of a recent wedding "organized" by Karolina Warren. I use the word organize very loosely as she had to have been the most unorganized, unprepared and unprofessional person to ever call herself a wedding planner. From causing unnecessary stress for the bride, to missing meetings and generally being completely unreliable and unhelpful on site, I would suggest that any potential bride seriously consider using an actual professional. I knew I wanted a 'day-of' coordinator for our April wedding and Karolina's the only one I considered. She's friendly, organized, and on top of it all! We actually communicated several times before the wedding, and she reviewed our vendor contracts, gave us tips for the big day, and helped construct our day of timeline. She was there for our rehearsal, on our final walk through with the venue, and was invaluable on the day of our wedding! First of all, her 'emergency kit' is AMAZING! Literally has anything you could, might possibly, every need - and we used it! Second, she became invaluable as our venue wasn't ready at the time they had told us - she got all the vendors organized and called in additional help to make sure all of my DIY was set up on time and properly in less than 45min! Based on a recommendation from a friend we decided to hire Weddings by Karolina for our wedding planning. Our initial meeting is what really impressed us as Karolina knows what she is doing. She had all the answers to all the questions and had questions for us to consider. She provides checklists on a regular basis in a countdown method. Karolina was such a huge help on the day of our wedding. I don't know how we could have gotten through the day without her. She came in early and set up my (many) DIY projects, decorations, and favors exactly how I wanted them. She communicated with me and my vendors throughout the entire event to make sure everything ran smoothly. And then she cleaned up at the end of the night and made sure I left with everything I started with. Let me start off by saying that I am detail-oriented and expect the same from anyone I give my hard-earned money to. Karolina coordinated my wedding this summer. I do not live in Chicago, so I was in town infrequently. After hiring her a year before my wedding, I arranged a venue visit with her 5 weeks in advance of when I would be in town, and the day before she cancelled on me via text because she booked a wedding last-minute. That was completely unprofessional and really upset me. She did take 20% off of the final balance, but that was after she promised to be there, then cancelled again. Overall, that experience left me feeling trapped and worried about my actual wedding. All I can say is good thing I'm organized myself (though leading up to my wedding a family member was very ill, my grandmother passed away, and I had to work a ton), and that I had a great coordinator from the actual venue, because otherwise I think things would not have been salvageable. I was running my wedding rehearsal even after Karolina and I had a 2 hour meeting to go over all of these details and she had written them down. After the rehearsal, I forgot to grab a paper in a bag I had given Karolina, which I needed for the next day (makeup schedule for the wedding day). I texted her and asked her if she could bring it in and she said no, she was already at the valet. What day-of coordinator is willing to leave the bride without a makeup schedule for 12 people!? Also, she was not in the room during the wedding ceremony which is puzzling. After the ceremony, some family members (who were helping Karolina before the ceremony, so she knew them) were missing for pictures, but hey, so was Karolina, so I had no one to help me locate them. I separated the head table escort cards and my family (parents) escort cards so that Karolina could put them in the right place, and she put my mom at the wrong table. Once my mom figured out her right seat, she of course had the worst seat at her table--with her back to us. Finally, my mom was the one reminding me of the flow of the reception--we did not get a single reminder from Karolina about things we should be doing at what time, etc. during the reception. Overall, I think that Karolina was overwhelmed with the details of a 200+ person wedding. All throughout the weekend she had me stressing and worried about different details that she was missing, and that's the point of a day-of wedding coordinator. If you are not super organized and/or if you're having a large wedding, I would not recommend her. Positives: I did get all of the items I used during the ceremony back. She made good recommendations for other vendors. She brought an assistant (though she made this decision at the LAST minute...every other vendor I used knew immediately to bring an assistant for such a large wedding). PS: I think she also blocked me from Facebook so this was the only place I could leave a review. :( And I can't see on Facebook if she took any pictures of the wedding like she does for her other couples...oh well... read more

She was about 1/2 the cost of some of the planners we looked into who are based out of the city and I feel like we got everything we wanted from her services! We met once for our initial consultation and decided to hire her on the spot! All of our correspondence was via e-mail which is what I preferred. She was always organized both in-person and online. She responded to e-mails so quickly, it was great! About two months prior to the wedding we touched base again and she began working on our timeline for the day. Having worked in the wedding industry myself, I knew that without a coordinator it can be very hard for the bride and groom (and their families!) to truly enjoy their wedding day. About six months before our wedding, I had landed the job of my dreams while finishing up graduate school. We were living in Chicago but planning a wedding in Madison, WI. I found myself with no extra time for wedding planning and immediately began interviewing coordinators. Seeing Karolina's amazing reviews led me to book a consultation. In our meeting, Karolina really listened. She understood the kind of help I was looking for and my desire to plan a "Chicago-style wedding" even though it was in Madison. Karolina has a quiet confidence and kind demeanor that I found comforting. I left our meeting and decided to book her partial-planning package to have help booking our remaining vendors in addition to help on the day. Throughout the entire planning process, Karolina was proactive, punctual, and supportive. We communicated mostly over email because of my busy schedule. She kept AMAZING notes and literally remembered every detail I ever mentioned. Each month, she would send a "to do" list and thought of all the little things I didn't have time for. In the weeks before the wedding, Karolina relayed information among all of our vendors and attended a final reception walk through in Madison. On the day of the wedding, Karolina and her assistant made sure everything was setup according to plan and ran the time line. Karolina is completely worth her weight in gold! I was super busy with school in the several months coming up to the wedding so I knew that I would need major help in planning the wedding. Karolna was amazing as a partial-planner and day of coordinator. First and most importantly, she completely kept me on track with the planning process. Even though there were sometimes weeks when I was so busy I didn't even touch anything related to the wedding, she always sent me reminder emails for the next step. This kept me on track and kept me from getting overwhelmed. She recommended fantastic vendors who were reliable and with whom she had worked with before. And even when we wanted to pick someone new, she was so helpful and came to most vendor meetings. In the end, I ended up with an awesome team of vendors. In the weeks coming up to the wedding, she took care of all the final vendor confirmations and confirmations and alerted me of potential problems. She made a very detailed day of time line was super patient with all my last minute changes. The actual day of the wedding was very smooth. She was great as a DOC. I sent her super type A instructions for how to set up the decor before the wedding and everything was set up exactly as I wanted down to minute details like how the napkins were to be folded. If any problems happened, I didn't know about them (and still don't) because she was so on top of everything! Honestly, I can't recommend Karolina enough. She was such a joy to work with for or Nov 2013 wedding. She was on top of everything and she was incredibly responsive to any request I sent her way. I pride myself on being on top of my game, and I am so glad I hired Karolina to handle the day-of burdens for the wedding since I could not be in two places at once (much to my chagrin). As an example of Karolina's prowess: she organized ALL the decor for the reception (I had a lot of DIY projects and she and her assistant (no extra cost to me, btw) skillfully set up everything), she had the entire wedding party (14 attendants, parents, and bride and groom) ready to go at all times, she also handled some last-minute issues with the vendor (they didn't plate a few of the desserts and my mom asked Karolina to locate them - she did, and they were out instantly!), she also helped us locate the wayward limo and handled a very difficult dress bustle. She's pretty awesome, and her rates are really reasonable considering the wedding price madness. I don't understand some of the 1 star reviews. I'm guessing there are some brides out there who literally expect magic. To future brides, do yourselves a favor and keep yourselves somewhat organized. I was on the fence about hiring a day of coordinator throughout our 12-month engagement, but now believe that hiring Karolina was the best money I spent on the entire wedding. Even though I had planned, spread-sheeted, and timelined my heart out, there were still so many things I did not think of that Karolina helped bring to my attention.
