I asked Diane to please keep the chicken strips soft. I have a problem with over cooked chicken strips. Let me tell you Diane delivered better chicken strips than I have ever had in my life. They were cooked perfectly. I'm used to eating Dino Nuggets but these chicken strips were heavenly. The cheese sauce on the fries. Unbelievably, tasty. The wings were good too but I will always remember this place for the perfectly cooked chicken strips and that cheese sauce. The oldest building in Fisk, this bar opened in the late 1920s as a perfect example of how little Prohibition mattered in the state of Missouri. The current owner, who was tending bar, has owned the place for about 55 years. My pictures don't do it justice but I love the woodwork in these old bars. Places like this are living history and I always enjoy finding them. Nothing fancy and nothing on tap, just ice cold domestic cans and bottles.
