I came in recently and was thinking of buying some locally grown honey for my allergies. The only employee there was with someone who didn't look like a customer and their conversation was just dragging on, even though I was standing there hoping to ask a question about their products. The Bee Box is such a cute store with a fairly decent variety of honeys. I stopped by on a this Saturday morning, but realized that they weren't there as they were stationed at the Midtown Farmer's Market until 2PM. When I went over to the Midtown Farmer's Market, I was greeted by their friendly staff. And who doesn't love free samples?! Since they have honey produced by bees in different areas such as Modesto and Fresno, it's really hard to know what you prefer before giving them a taste. They also sell pollen for those who are struggling with allergies. Surprisingly, their pollen has a sweet taste and almost candy-like. The staff recommended incorporating the pollen in different foods while cooking. The prices seem fair and range from about $6-15 depending on the amount of honey you are purchasing. I bought one pound of local wildflower honey in their reusable glass container (costing $12) because you can reuse the same container at their store and it'll only cost you $6 for one pound of honey. This place is the bees knees! The staff are very polite and helpful, offering a lot of information and samples. There are currently three different flavors that you can purchase in different sized jars. If you buy a jar, you can refill it for a lower cost! I started coming here for the local honey to use as an antihistamine. You take one teaspoon a day--I like to add it to my tea. So far, it has worked wonders! Fantastic addition to East Sac. The honey is delicious, and the pollen seems to be helping with our terrible allergies. Having a visible hive in the store is awesome too; my kids love going there to see it. So cool that we can buy what we need to start a hive (alas we will not be doing so, but good to know we can). read more

Classy and Very Clean. I opt for the refillable honey and bring my containers to the register where she weighs them then fills them for me. I feel very special and I Iike that! I use it to sweeten my tea and for my clients. The Local Honey is my fav for the Pollen it has. I'm really allergic to every tree in Sacramento but now I don't even take allergy pills anymore! This shop is small but modern and easy to park and walk to. Only one sales person but I've never had to wait. It's a quiet and calm and friendly atmosphere and that keeps me coming back! read more

Buying honey here during allergy season would of been pleasant if the woman with short curly hair wasn't our cashier today. If you don't like your job either quit or pretend to like it. I'm not sure if it's the woman's fault or their management. I understand working during a pandemic is hard and also life threatening. However, don't take your problems out on other people. Customers come to support a business by buying their products and expect to be treated (at the very least fair) I came here to help someone with a language barrier buy honey. (I'm no honey expert) But the cashier lady was rude and not helpful at all. We couldn't help but feel discriminated against. I walked closer up towards the window because we were talking through glass and she basically yelled "i'm going to need you to back up" Glass is blocking us, I needed to help ask another question for the lady with difficulty speaking English. I get that the corona virus is a serious matter, but if you are that paranoid from taking orders behind a glass window unexposed ... literally make the responsible choice to stay home. I first came across this wonderful gem at a farmers market, and decided to come to their storefront. WOW!!! The inside is AWESOME!!! The interior design is flawless, the live bee hive was super cool especially seeing the Queen bee, and Chelsea was very informative and helpful. I finally purchased some pollen and a candle. Spent 10 minutes on the phone getting prices for very specific items just found out that the person answering the phone didn't know anything about what they were selling or prices. I go to purchase the items and the price was more than triple. If you're going to have someone answer your phone give some knowledge to them before they inconvenience the public. read more

They have been consistently in their stocking of a fresh variety of the "Best Honey I have ever had". I love the Orange but get a sampler twice a year as they make great gifts. They even have mini Honey Bears that you can take with you. I have completly stopped using sugar and use the Polen every day as I do feel the difference. They are always ready with a bag waiting for me when I go through the website and prepay with PayPal. To have this little perk of having my personal information laying around misc computers is how a lot of people get their information compromised when the computers are sold or replaced. There is something that just seems to lagitimize a business when they use it knowing that PayPal puts up with nothing as far as customer satisfaction. I am always very happy with my purchase and without the need to pull out my wallet if only to ID myself. I wish more would have security be at the forfront for goals of their business. It is not free for them to offer it and I appreciate that they go the extra mile. I have been using their service for over a year now and I am always met with a smile after ease of parking and am able to get in and out so quickly, often I wonder if something has been forgotten, but no and it's all in the bag. You may want to take the time to look around at some of nice extras, though they are a Honey Store first. They are on my way to Downtown with their great location and large parking lot behind the store that makes stopping off just so easy in itself is rare for the area. read more
