Hey Brian, I wanted to reach out about something that happened tonight that I feel you should know about. I also want to be clear that all of this transpired after you had already left for the evening. For context, I'm a regular at the bar and have been coming in for quite a while. I've never had a major issue with Brent or Steven, even though they both have personalities that can come across as sarcastic or abrasive. I've generally let it go because my reason for coming to the bar is simple: I come in to have a few beers, relax, and enjoy myself. Tonight, while I was still drinking one of my beers and had some left in the glass, Brent came by and took it away as if I was finished. I jokingly said something along the lines of, "I guess you're not going to let me finish the last bit." I wasn't upset and wasn't trying to start an argument. It was an obvious mistake that could have been solved with a simple apology. Instead, he responded with a snarky comment rather than acknowledging the mistake. Later, he brought another beer to my table. I made eye contact with him and before I could even say anything, he asked, "Do you want to say something to me?" I replied, "No, I just wanted to say thank you." His response was, "Your eyes are telling me differently." Again, I found that unnecessarily confrontational and disrespectful. At that point, I decided to leave a $0 tip. I normally tip very well, often around 30% or more, and this was the first time I've intentionally left no tip because I wanted to send a message that I was unhappy with the way I was being treated. After that, Steven came over and confronted me about leaving no tip. He asked if I was really zeroing it out and questioned me about whether something had happened between me and Brent. I told him that whatever issue I had was not his concern, and he responded, "Fair enough." I assumed that would be the end of it. Instead, Brent came outside and confronted me. He told me Steven had said I had a problem with him. I explained that I didn't have a personal problem with him; my issue was his attitude and the way he was treating me as a customer. Rather than listening, he became increasingly hostile. I reminded him that I'm a customer and that I'm only there to buy beer from the business. I'm not there to deal with sarcasm, attitude, or an employee's emotions. As a paying customer, the minimum I expect is basic respect. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells or accept being spoken to disrespectfully while simply trying to enjoy a beer. That confrontation ended poorly and he went back inside. A short time later, he came back out and confronted me again, this time in front of other customers. The situation became even more uncomfortable because it was happening publicly. During that exchange, he ultimately told me that I was not welcome back. Again, I reminded him that I am a paying customer whose only purpose in being there is to support the business and enjoy a beer. I should not be getting into arguments with employees, being confronted in front of other patrons, or being told I'm not welcome because I expressed concerns about how I was being treated. The bigger issue is that, in my opinion, this isn't just about tonight. This has been months in the making. I've noticed a pattern with both Brent and Steven where they seem to have become comfortable treating customers with attitude and sarcasm in ways that shouldn't be acceptable in a customer-facing role. I've overlooked it many times because I enjoy the bar and didn't think it was worth making an issue out of. On the other hand, employees like Kim, Josh, and David have always treated me and other customers with professionalism and respect. They know how to joke around while still making customers feel welcome. I've never had an issue with them. From my perspective, the problem is specifically Brent and, to a lesser extent, Steven. Brent especially has developed a demeanor that I find unwelcoming, confrontational, and disrespectful toward customers. I don't think I'm the only person who feels this way. Tonight was simply the point where it crossed a line. I'm not sending this because I want anyone fired or punished. I simply think you should know what happened, especially since it all occurred after you had left. I've spent a lot of time and money at your establishment over the years, and I would hope that customers--especially regulars--can expect basic courtesy and respect from the people serving them. Like the names suggests, this spot is a smallish room that serves craft beer. They also have a couple of televisions inside so you can drink while watching whatever game they have on. The folks/beertenders were very friendly and you can tell they're enthusiastic about craft beer and the craft beer community. I've only visited once, but I've been told that they regularly rotate out their taps and have cans of local and not so local breweries for sale out of the fridge. At the time of my visit, I noticed some cans from some of my favorite breweries in the LA and SD area. The place feels like a craft beer oasis in that it's a bit of a destination and I'm not sure what else is around. Although, to be fair, I don't live in the immediate area and don't really know the area that well in terms of craft beer offerings. Definitely a spot I would like to frequent. There seemed to be plenty parking when I went. Not sure if it get's really crowded when some more of the surrounding businesses are open, but I had plenty of spaces to chose from. read more

Went here on a Sunday evening. My husband ordered for me, it was a guava IPA that was absolutely delicious! I will definitely order again. We love our IPA's, but I love the exotic fruit combination. We also brought our doggo, place is dog friendly patio only. Customer service 10/10. read more

A great brewery that has a wonderful sweet porter Beachwood S'more ya Later YUM!! 12% alcohol and only $5 I am happy woman!! My hubby ordered the canned Imperial Stout and enjoyed it even though it was from a can which he usually wouldn't choose. We also decided to try a vegan sausage- it came with chips and I was happy that they offered food to keep the blood alcohol level down lol Comfortable inside and large patio! I came here for the first time after a stressful few weeks, and I absolutely loved the exclusiveness and hidden-away feeling this place offers. For most of the night, I had a great time minding my own business, watching videos quietly on my phone in a corner of the bar. As I was getting ready to leave, a random guy sitting nearby asked me to lower the volume on my phone. Whether he intended to be polite or not, it felt condescending, territorial, and completely unnecessary. They were speaking louder than my phone, yet somehow my phone was the issue. It honestly felt like a case of "local syndrome," where someone felt empowered to tell me what to do in a place that isn't theirs. I didn't want to create a scene, so I generously tipped the bartender and left. But I was genuinely upset that I was told to be quiet while I was simply minding my own business in a corner. The place itself does not deserve a bad review because of the actions of one customer. However, if this person is in any way connected to management or staff, I would seriously reconsider my rating and change it to one star--something I never done before. I think a little more compassion and understanding toward fellow customers would go a long way. read more

I've been living in Grand Terrace for a little over 6 months now and just noticed this place from the street! I have had a good experience. There aren't that many places in the Riverside area that have good craft beer. The prices are a little up there, but they have a good rotating selection and their bartenders know about the beers they have. Some people will bring in beer they picked up out of town to share tastings. It's kinda cool. And they play alternative/punk style music. This place is a hidden gem. Yeah you could go to the downtown areas in the neighboring cities and find a brew, but The Beer Room has that secluded, relaxed feeling that welcomes you to have a few rounds. The selection is always rotating, the beer tenders know their products and they always make rounds for outside patrons so you can chill with your group. I've had nothing but great experiences coming to this spot and cheers to the entire establishment. First time coming here with my sister and it was such a great experience! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Bartender offered tasters and explained the different beers they had. We sat outside in the patio and they were attentive! I asked one of the associates to turn on the heater and they did then and there, no hesitation. Loved that! There is a patio and a bar area inside where you can choose from a wide variety of craft brews from the Southern California region. The staff is very friendly and provide input and recommendations when asked. There are some pretzels and/ or peanuts if you ask to compliment the flavorful beer you will find here.
