The perfect "hole in the wall"! They had three pool tables, darts, and old classic game machines. Pool was a dollar fifty a game, not sure about darts. The bartender was nice and helped get our balls that were stuck in the machine. They also have an outside patio where you can sit and play huge jenga, or chill with your drinks. I have never been treated so arbitrarily and unfairly in my entire bar-going life. I have been to over half the bars in the greater Cincinnati area, and I patronize bars with great frequency. Not only can my two companions attest to the fact that I was not misbehaving, and not without control of my faculties, we were also among the youngest people in the bar. Everyone older than us seemed to be louder, imbibing far more, and I was only singled out by the small ponytail-wearing man who never introduced himself or stated his business because I happened to be the only person standing outside the door, smoking a cigarette and texting on my phone, when he decided to play bouncer. Not only did he torpedo towards me with declarative ultimatums, I told him we were getting ready to leave anyway, and returned inside to fetch my two friends. Lo and behold, the busybody has followed me in to declare to whoever's listening that I am cut off. My baffled friends repeated what I had already told the ignorant man, which was that we were already paid and leaving anyway. And yet he ushered us to the door like some sort of sheriff. I am aware that this is a semi-popular dive bar in its particular area, and I too appreciate live music and, apparently, positive fundraisers. But this kind of deliberately humiliating singling-out merely to gratify the Napoleon complex of an angry old man was an ugly fluke at best, and bearing the brunt of it has left me extremely bitter. Again, never in my prolific bar-patronizing adult life have I ever been cut off or ejected from an establishment. I have repeatedly reached out in the ensuing days to express my concerns to the ownership, and, though I can see manifestly that they have received and read my messages, they refuse to dignify me with so much as a response. There is a myriad and sundry host of other live music venues and dive bars in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and even Mason and Loveland, and exactly none of them have ever demonstrated such unilateral, unprofessional, and shockingly immature treatment. It is, of course they're right to refuse service to whomever they wish, but they are being quite cavalier and elitist about how they exercise that privilege. And that sets an unforgivable example, especially when they are too cowardly to address the incident in any way. read more

This is a perfect dive bar with live music. From record covers stuck to the ceiling to $6 giant beers, to pool tables and TVs with sports, this ace has everything. I don't think there but at times I've seen food trucks outside and there are four really good restaurants in the same campus area (Pacific Kitchen, Mei's, an Indian restaurant, and a Thai restaurant). We've eaten at all of them and they are all very good. On this night we watched DV8, a local band that plays all your heavy metal, hard rock, and hair band classics of the 80's and 90's. Fun Bar!! There's something going on every night and it draws some of the best bands in the area. Prices are good, the beer is cold, there's a good booze selection, and the bartenders are top notch. I've met the owner several times and she clearly knows her business and clientele. I would guess the average age would be around 40 to 45 years old and this is not a youngster's bar. Every Thursday is "Jam Session" and I'd tell you more but this is something you have to experience for yourself. On Mondays, they play "Bottle Cap Bingo" and Queen of Hearts if you want to put a few bucks in your pocket. Ran, a local comedian and the man with many shoes, does the calling. I have to admit, the dude is funny and keeps things lively. Out of all the bars in the Cincinnati area, I'd have to say this is clearly a favorite! read more

So the atmosphere is great. I met the owner once by chance crossing that did me a favor regarding a bottle of red label Weller and I have never forgot it. Stopped in tonight to have a couple beers and listen to some music. I ordered a beer and it was $5.50, not choice of a difference. Then with a new bartender transfer I ordered a refill and it was $4. I asked why there was a difference. He said different size glasses. I asked if I could see. He gave me the other glass. When I went to give it back I knocked over my newly filled beer. I asked for another. I put up payment for the new one. In my entire life I have always been told it was an accident and they refilled it at no cost to me. He graciously took my payment for the new one without hesitation. I'll be more careful here next time. If you order a draft here ask if there is a difference in price between $4 and $5.50. The bartenders get a 4 star, the owner and the place get a 5 star! read more

A few years ago this bar went under a new name and new ownership and MAN does it show! It got a much needed face lift (literally looks completely different) it now has a classy "dive" bar feel.. if you can even call it a dive anymore. Great beer and bourbon selection. I've only been to this bar once when I was waiting to go to a Go Bananas show. It was fairly empty except for a few patrons and a few nervous comedians about to preform. My fiance' and I ordered some beers and they were GIANT and cheap. That was awesome. For me, the three star rating was because this bar is sort of a drive for me and there wasn't anything out of the ordinary about this bar that makes it worth the trip for me. Fun place to go! We had no idea about this place until I did a Yelp search. Live music was a bit too loud for us to talk but we wound up going into the back where there are two pool tables and the music was just right for us to be able to talk very loudly to one another. It seemed like a great place for those between 30 and 55 to go and relive their days in College. Loved it! read more

Loud. Cheap. Fun. This dive is next to Go Bananas. We stopped in pre-and post show for a few drinks. I was surprised to discover how big it is - and they've 4 pool tables and a patio. Drinks were strong, the DJ was accommodating, and fun was had. Next time we go for comedy we'll probably plan on ending the evening there. I can't imagine this as a destination, but if you're near by I suggest you stop in. read more

Oh McLevy's.... I forgot about this place. I went to Go Bananas and McLevy's all the time in college. I went back a week ago and had a blast! McLevy's is a great big open space with pool tables, a great patio, and plenty of beverage choices. All the comedians from Go Bananas head over there after a show so you're sure to have some entertaining conversations with fun people. The crowd is on the younger side with some others mixed in. I and my friend were looking for a place to drink on a Friday night, which was not far away from our hotel at Blue Ash. Yelp landed us on this page. Though not too many reviews but we still went ahead with McLevy's. Totally thrilled with the experience. Drinks are great and inexpensive. We got happily high with just 3 drinks. Great service. Good music. If only they served fries, burgers or sandwiches. They do have dispensing machines for popcorn and snacks though. If you were anything like a normal human being, you watched the live action Teenage Mutant NInja Turtles movies and thought The Foot Clan's hideaway was tight as fuck. Good news, everyone! McLevy's is that place for you now. One room has a foosball table, the other a pool table, another room has a pool table, yet another has a small collection of arcade games (bar classic, not pac man classic), the center bar has a gigantic big screen and beer pong. Not to sniff at the awesome wrap around patio seating and deck. This place has all the toys you brosifs need to have a good time - including an impressive for their size selection of local craft brews on draft. Broseph stalins aren't your gig? No worries bro. When I was in there, they were few, cool in demeanor and didn't gross or creep out the ladies. That in itself is worth supporting. read more

Fun little dive bar next to Go Banana's comedy club in Montgomery. We stopped in here for a drink after the show. They had live music on a Saturday night and it was a decent cover band called "Waiting on Ben" who has some original material as well. Beer was cold, cheap and it wasn't too crowded. My expectations for a place like this were somewhat low and I was pleasantly surprised. Watching drunk people dance is always entertaining as well. We are told it gets more lively after the late show, so perhaps we'll try this place again some time. read more

Great weekend spot...went there one weekend recently and the band was great. Their beer selection isn't vast, but their service is reasonable. Saturday nights they typically have a band going on and no cover charge. The drinks are average price...if you're into fancy bars this isn't your place.
