While calling itself a diner, this establishment is more of a very comfortable family restaurant. It has plenty of parking, a nice capacity and is staffed by very efficient, smiling people who seem to enjoy their work as well as their patrons. The vast menu will provide a treat for every type of diner. Food is served quickly, freshly prepared and with the ability to satisfy the hungriest of patrons. The restaurant is clean, well maintained and very comfortable. I am looking forward to returning to sample more of their menu. We walked in and there's a sign that says to seat yourself. So our party of 6 sat at a big table. A waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink. She gave us the menu, I could tell that she was the only one there and a bit stressed but still was doing a good job holding it down . I ordered the Denver omelette. The food arrived decently fast and hot. Everyone's plate was absolutely full of food. It was so much food for everyone that most didn't finish. Let me start this out with the corn chowder, that was the best soup I've ever had and I don't mess around with soup. I could've cried it was so delicious. Now I scarfed that down, and then came my home fries with hollandaise sauce and bacon, it came out piping hot and fresh. Potatoes were cooked to perfection with a good crisp and the sauce was great. I was so full from the soup, I wish I could have fit more of the home fries. The sausage gravy and biscuits were really good and so was the sandwich. When you walk in your able to seat yourself, which is nice. It's cozy and quiet. Definitely a great spot, I'll be back. Service was quick. read more

Hearty, homey, friendly diner with good food and huge portions. The Falls Diner is right on Route 22 south of Hoosick Falls. Plenty of outdoor parking. Lots of Vermont license plates, so you know people have discovered this place. The decor inside is not fancy. Somewhat of a rustic, country feel. More like a restaurant than a diner. There are both booths and tables. Service has always been excellent. I can't remember ever having a problem. The menu is extensive. Lots of sandwiches, appetizers, and full dinners. There is a selection of Italian and seafood items. The salad bar is average, nothing special. They serve beer and wine. Food quality is above average but not five star. The portions are enormous. I never go home hungry, and I can eat a lot. Definitely a good value. If you're hungry, it's well worth the drive. Top-notch food served in a friendly environment. I enjoy stopping at the Falls Diner for the solid good food at reasonable prices. The place has a counter seating area and a separate quiet dining room with a salad bar to the left. I usually head into the dining room during dinner time, so I can enjoy my food in peace. The pasta dinners with salad bar are my favorites here, since the portions are very generous (need a box afterwards). I've enjoyed their seafood pasta entrees such as the Linguine Pescatore, Alfredo Delmare, and Pasta Diabalo, which is piled with good amounts of seafood (clams, shrimp, scallops, scrod, crabmeat) and tasty sauces. The salad bar offers a pretty good selection of fresh greens, garnishes, cheeses, toppings, cold salads, dressings, and slice your own bread. Also, they have honored my Entertainment coupons each year BOGO or 50 percent off if dining alone. The service here is friendly and laid back. On my recent visit, the waitress quickly boxed up my food and bagged it for me. Pay check at the counter in the front when finished. read more

I've been going to The Fall's Diner for twenty years. Their char broiled hamburger is one of the very best I have ever encountered. Everything else on the menu is ordinary but good. However a while back I went to the HFD and ordered a corned beef Reuben (enjoyed this sandwich there many times), and I have to say it was repulsive. The corned beef was pale and flavourless. As I had great difficulty cutting the sandwich, I took it apart to see that the middle was not meat at all but what seemed to be fatty connective tissue. It was white, flabby, and filled with tiny holes. I was disgusted. As I wasn't picking up the tab, I didn't say a thing. The waitress and cooks appeared to be teenagers, so maybe this is the new way in the age of Covid-19. I caution everybody to inspect whatever they order. read more

This is probably the best restaurant in the world. Sure, it's a diner at its core, but it manages to avoid all the traits (watery food, greasy tables and seats, constant sounds of clanging dishes, silverware that tastes like metal) that can make a standard diner unappealing. The Falls Diner is clean and comfortable and the menu offers a wide selection, with the added bonus of having breakfast available all day. (You're missing out if you haven't tried chocolate chip pancakes for dinner.) I've never ordered something I didn't like, and I've probably never paid more than $10 for my meal. I talked about the greatness of the Falls Diner all through college, and I don't think my friends ever understood the truth behind my words until finally, during senior year, they got the chance to experience the magic for themselves. Let's start first by saying I drove an hour on a tip that this place was good. When we arrived the place was packed and people waiting for a table (good sign). The staff appeared to be working together like it was second nature and did it while smiling. The portions were healthy and tasty. Service was impeccable. I grew up in Northern NJ where diners are abundant. My family would go every Sunday morning to a local diner and enjoy breakfast, other days just go for lunch or dinner and so I'd like to think I know a little about diners and have certain expectations when it comes to food taste and presentation from one. The first time I went to the Falls Diner was with my bf. He brought me there for breakfast and I was blown away by the length of the menu and specials. I opted for Pumpkin Pancakes and was NOT disappointed. I was served 3 large pancakes and they were delectable!! The next time I went was for dinner with my two young boys (4 & 2 at the time). I ordered each of them a children's ham steak dinner with string beans, mashed potatoes and applesauce. When their dinners came out (I requested they be brought out first), I couldn't believe the portion size. I actually asked the waitress if this was indeed the children's portion because there was so much food. SHe assured me it was. THankfully, both of my boys are BIG eaters and they cleaned their plates, but I could have easily enjoyed that meal and been more than satisfied. I, however, ordered the butternut squash lasagna and I was NOT disappointed. Again, the portion was enormous and the lasagna was so flavorful, I couldn't believe it came from a diner. That sealed the deal for me as far as a local diner goes. I now live in the area and LOVE going here. I tell all my friends and family when they come up that they have to try it... it's better than some of the diners in Jersey. If you love diner food, check it out!!! Surprisingly great. Was told by a friend that they were okay, so we went. It was far superior to what we expected. The spaghetti with meatballs was delicious. I have been to Falls Diner a few times in the past while visiting family in the area. It was just ok like a typical diner. I recently moved close by and decided to give it a try once again. I am a vegetarian most of the time, eating seafood when I go out because there aren't many choices in most restaurants. I ordered the fried haddock which was over cooked and dry. Unfortunately, you can not get a green vegetable unless you get the salad bar with your meal. The hot vegetables on their menu is either corn or sugar loaded squash that tastes likes mashed sweet potato with brown sugar and butter, not exactly food for the health minded. The service was excellent, the server was very friendly, but did not offer to refill our sodas. Most restaurant at this level give you all the refills you want. The diner has a dirty feel. You can't tell what color the carpet is. The tables need to be sanded and varnished. They look worn and grimy, in need of redoing. Too bad the place isn't kept up.
