    Toothpaste left on the sink

I've stayed here in the past, and never had an experience quite like today. We checked in and dumped our stuff in our room because we're here for a convention and we're eager to get to it and have some fun. After hanging out at the convention we returned to our room to find the following: 1) My reservation I called and made was not found. The person who was checking in before me, their reservation was not found. I was told that sometimes they just write down the reservation information and sometimes it doesn't get put into the system. This is a huge issue for me. Most reservations require a credit card to be on file, and I can't remember if they took my credit card number or not. If they're writing down credit card numbers and leaving them on the front desk I do not feel safe giving my information to them over the phone now. What's to stop them from taking my credit card information home and buying stupid shit, or someone finding it and taking the paper my info is written on? This is a terrible practice. 2) The room has not been properly cleaned in between guests. The previous tenant's garbage is still in the can. 3) The bathroom had the used toiletries in the shower. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap are all opened and just sitting there. 4) The sink in the bathroom has blue-green toothpaste all over it. There are two wet towels sitting on the sink with what looks like green makeup all over them. 5) The HVAC unit in the room is running non-stop and even on "coldest" it's still putting out heat, which is making it unbearable in here. 6) Because of the heat I tried to open the window. The window lock is broken off, the crank is broken off and hanging, and the wooden inside of the window is broken off. I put it back together, but I shouldn't have to. Unfortunately many of the previous reviews are quite accurate. Walking down the halls on the second floor looks like a scene from a 1970's horror film. Dark, outdated, dingy. The tables we were given for the convention all are damaged. The plastic edging isn't even touching wood in many places because there are large chunks missing. The frustrating part is the staff here is nice as can be. There's a great lady who is working the front desk I spoke with about the wet towels, and since they have a "use the black towels for makeup" policy I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to get charged.

Ancient tv that barely works. Takes 20 seconds to "warm up" and register you changing the channels.

This is supposed to be a Wyndham trademark hotel. I wanted to stay somewhere nice. What I got was the complete opposite. Dirty, out-dated, musty, and lack of staff/bare bones restaurant. Was put in a room far away from front door of hotel (even though hotel was empty.). This made it difficult to get my things to the room (no one does that for you at this "upscale" place). Key card didnt work throughout my stay. Had to continually trek to the desk to get it fixed. Rooms are old. Dirty. Holes in the lampshade in my room. Tv ancient and doesn't work (takes screen 20 seconds to register the picture when you change the channel). The conference rooms are ok, and outside is pleasant looking (on the front), but little has been done to update this hotel in 20 years. The roof is leaking throughout different areas, the exercise room has no ventilation and is the size of a closet. No cleaning products are available even though covid is going on and there's a sign saying you have to clean off the machines. The smell of sweat knocks you out when you walk in the room. I tried to walk around the hotel outside to get some exercise and a homeless person was in the parking lot following me. I had to resort to walking around inside the hotel and what I saw was very disappointing. Peeling wallpaper, leaking ceilings, old, peeling pleather furniture. The pool was dirty throughout my stay. Not once was it cleaned nor I see anybody vacuuming the hallways. I asked for clean sheets and a new pillow and it took hours when I checked in to get them -only to find that they threw them on the dirty carpet in front of my door. The hotel restaurant only had appetizers and I ended up paying $25 for a salad and some fried mozz sticks. No breakfast is served at this hotel. I asked about the restaurant that serves sushi and dinners they advertise on their sign and they didn't know what I was talking about. It turns out there is a restaurant connected to the hotel but for some reason, the staff at Paws doesn't know it exists! I can safely say that I will not be returning to this hotel, and I definitely do not recommend that you stay here.

    "Redrum" - corridors are dark.

My usual spot in Aurora was sold out, so I ended up here again (last visit was 2012). It's clear that for whatever reason - lack of $, or interest - this place has had few upgrades for decades. If you enjoyed the 80's (maybe the 70's), you'll like the decor. Dark hallways with blood red carpet and dim lighting will have you thinking "The Shining" & muttering "redrum" as you walk to your room. My room always had a bit of a damp, musty smell (think old towels let sit WAY too long in the machine) that even blasting the AC couldn't beat. Lighting the. The room is also dark, and the dryer is one of those tiny wall-unit ones, so if you plan to style your hair, that dryer won't do much (esp for long hair). Bedding was ok, but the lights are crazy. Most hotels figure you just want to reach over to switch the light on or off. Not here - less your arms are really long, you'll need to stand or reach WAY up to try and get the switch. I think they must do enough local weddings and events that they don't need to upgrade the rooms (if you drink enough, the smells and dark lighting and old stuff don't seem bad?), but if you want a decent fresh-smelling bright room after a day working, this is not an inviting spot. I might even face thedrive from Cleveland rather than face this place again.

As a photographer, I love working at The Bertram Inn and Conference Center for weddings! Everything is set up beautifully, food is exellent, and coordinators are organized and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend! Images by Jennifer Elizabeth Photography.

Staying here was overall a great experience. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, and the rooms were clean and well furnished.

After the "thunder" didn't stop I realized it was construction. Drills began as well. When we called the front desk there was just the response that there's construction from 8am on, no other options given and just a cursory "sorry." We were never alerted of this or we wouldn't have stayed here. This is unacceptable. If you are planning on staying here and want any sort of rest, cancel your reservations now. We're Hilton honors members too so they really don't care at all for anyone. I would never stay here again due to the lack of warning and care.

The room was very comfortable and clean with plenty of extra towels, pillows and blanket, several amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion, an alarm clock, microwave, coffee and coffee maker, even a personalized welcome message on the TV. The room was fairly quiet as well though I could hear the neighbor's dog, but luckily, I am a dog lover, and the dog did not bark but a few times in the morning when being let out for a walk. And not only did they have coffee and tea available near the front desk for any guests at any time, but it included decaf coffee, as well as herbal tea, which I prefer but rarely find available. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with so many choices, including two different types of waffles you can make yourself, hot oatmeal with raisins, brown sugar, etc. if you wish to add it, several baked goods, several choices of fruit juice, milk, hard-boiled eggs, western omelets and fresh fruit. The only small complaint I had is that the water was not very hot, but beyond that, it was everything you want in a hotel. Fast check in and check out as well.

The sausages have the texture of a rubber ball and no taste. The bacon is so thin and cooked that if you drop it on the plate, it literally breaks. I am not joking, try it. Eggs vary back and forth between scrambled (decent) and "omelet", which is basically a folded over scramble with some kind of Cheese Whiz. I was happy for the scrambled days. I grabbed a ham and egg croissant and disassembled in order to reposition the items, only to find that the ham was gray. I went to pick up an orange and my fingers sank into mushy mold on the bottom. My last morning I arrived at around 9a and there was about a forkful of eggs left, no bacon or sausage. Pretty disappointing for $149 room night (which, what??). The room was rundown and shabby. The bed is scarcely softer than an ironing board wrapped in a sleeping bag. It was impossible to find a way to be comfortable or stay asleep for longer than a couple hours. The loveseat is so run down that only by sitting in the middle are you not tilted to one side or the other. I've attached photos of the light fixture in the bathroom, the stovetop, and the windows for your perusal. Overall, I would have switched hotels after the first virtually sleepless night if it wasn't for lack of availability in the area I needed to stay. I am still sore from the bed and tired from the lack of sleep. I cannot believe the rate was increased by $30 for my final night. Should have moved to the car. Stay at the Comfort Inn Suites down the street. It's in need of updates, but at least the beds are comfortable.

I got into my room and was freezing. Now let me also state that when I checked in, it was -4° outside so I expect a level of chill to be in the air. My room had the heat on, stating 65° but it was actually 50°. By turning the heat on the highest (85°), I was able to get the room to 67°. When I booked the hotel stay, I was told it was a 3 star hotel with a continental breakfast. Now, an inexpensive breakfast isn't a deciding factor for me but it's a nice amenity. (For what it's worth, I'm from out of state, visiting family in hospice.) Today is Christmas and my birthday. I woke up and there is no water. I am unable to flush the toilet, shower, or even brush my teeth. When I called the front desk, they said it's a known problem and a plumber is there. They told me if the problem persists for a few hours, they can maybe move my room. Maybe? What am I paying for? I would have appreciated a heads up. Had I not dealt with any issues, I would rate the hotel a little bit better. It's out of date and whoever they have working on the space isn't experienced. There's a random screw in the night stand, the wallpaper is peeling, there are random stains all over (including a pillow), hair pins on the floor, etc. My room was non smoking (my partner is sensitive to smells and asthmatic) but the room reeked of smoke. The sheets are old - stretched out and ripped in places. We needed an extra blanket (since the room was so cold) and the front desk said they didn't have any extras, but suggested we look in our closet. The closet had yet another pillow with small stains on it. There is a microwave and mini fridge, and they seem to work so that's a plus. While all of these issues are minor, it could have been dealt with much better. Any heads up would have been appreciated, or a solution. Edited to add - it's 3:40pm and the hotel just called to say that they are doing an emergency evacuation. We have until 6pm to get our belongings. No clue if we get refunded or not.

The carpet is full of stains. Our room? Shower head holes had dark stains - rust? The hot water handle on the sink faucet was broken. Cracked tile on the floor. The bed linens were frayed and separating. We bought slippers at Walmart across the street because we didn't want to touch the floor. Housekeeping is nearly nonexistent. I asked at the front desk the 2nd morning, and was told the sheets already went out. I just wanted our used items replaced, it seemed like I was asking for too much. They did give us toilet paper, but no tissues and they didn't replace to cups or ice bucket liner. They are not truthful in their description of "daily housekeeping", you have to ask for service and even then it isn't guaranteed. It was so bad that I did something I've NEVER done before - checked out with 3 prepaid nights remaining. Paid a lot more for another hotel, but it was worth it. I should have tried to get a refund on the unused nights, but I didn't even have the energy to meet with the manager. They've got to know how bad it is. I wouldn't be able to work there and look people in the eye. I was wrong to be swayed by the Wyndham name. Don't stay here. Stay far away.
