Three of us had Sunday brunch at The Berwick. We each had a different dish; the other two liked theirs very much. I, on the other hand was ecstatic over my 'Avocado Toast'. Two perfectly cooked poached eggs sit on top of a creamy guacamole for mixed with a herb vinaigrette and topped with feta cheese crumbles. The whole thing is set on a piece of rosemary focaccia which is sturdy enough to support all the gooey stuff. To die for. I only ate half, and took the other half home. When I warmed it up and ate it for lunch the next day it was just as delicious. Good service too! The Berwick is way down south in Cranston, but the food is worth the drive. read more

I have been going to the Berwick for years as I live in Cranston. They closed this summer for Reno's and we were all excited for the big reopening. Well the only Reno that was done was the pizza oven, which in turn seems to break down a lot. Over the last few months the food and atmosphere has gone way down hill. It feel like the pub that you go when you are sad. I won't even order food now as it is worse quality than fast food with a heavier price tag. I really do hope this pub gets an eye opener of how far they have gone down hill and start to make changes. But if not I will be avoiding going here as it's just not worth the money. read more

We went with friends for beers and lunch last night and was not happy with our experience, it started out by ordering the ginger beff bowl which they said they ran out of ( how long ???? days ??) no Tuna bowl,either , ordered the pound of wings - salt and pepper , soooo salty and fries ssssooo salty my feet swelled up - told the waitress who only looked at us like we were crazy and walked away --- no problem - wont go there again- too bad cause we live in Cranston read more

Great new pub serving the Cranston South area. They're a sister-pub to the Kilt & Caber in McKenzie Towne and it has the same great interior with the dark wood and pub appeal. Berwick has some great chicken wings, with deals on Mondays (25¢) and Wednesday's (20¢) and some flavours. They also have a decent patio for the Summer and lots of big tvs all over the pub for watching the game while kicking back and having a pint. read more

I've come here twice now for lunch when I was working in the area. The first time I had the watermelon and arugula salad with goat cheese and the second time I went with the buffalo chicken burger. The salad was excellent. It was a really hot day and the salad was really refreshing. I would recommend this to anyone. The buffalo chicken burger was a bit of a let down. Flavour-wise it hit hit the spot, but the way they plate the sandwich is messy. It seems that they put the chicken on the bun first then dump the buffalo sauce on it which makes the bottom bun soggy. It was a a mess to get in my mouth but I did enjoy the burger. I had the same waitress both times. She was not that great the first time. Seemed like she was having a bad day. But on the second visit she was more friendly and did a better job staying on top of our table. So far so good here, but I'd like to hit them up in the evening to get a full impression of the atmosphere. read more

Went there last night with some friends, got there around 5.30 not very busy had 6 tables. Worst service I ever experienced in my life. The server didn't even introduce herself, so don't know her name, NO SMILE. The manager must have hired her because she is young and okay looking. Was there for a long time and I managed to get 2 drinks. Had to wait more than an hour to order food. Finally went and told the manager the service was too slow so he came and got the food order. Food came within 30 minutes and most of the items were okay. Steak bites were good everything else is average pub food. Our table of 8 spent just over $500 and if the service was faster could have been close to $800. Didn't offer us any discount for the poor service we got. read more

Went there this evening after not visiting for a few years. Not impressed. One server working the whole place, and as it was getting busier it was clearly a bit of a reach. The drinks were alright, if a little slow, but the food left a lot to be desired. My chicken fingers were straight up battered and deep fried fat (which got returned). My fiancée's beef dip was alright but had far more onion rings in the sandwich than beef, and no cheese or veggies. I used to order from here all the time. The buffalo chicken burger was amazing! There was basically nothing on the menu that wasn't perfect! We ordered from there recently. The fried chicken was burnt. The chicken BLT basically contained a full chicken breast (way too much) and slathered with way too much mayonnaise. The beef dip sandwich was thick, fatty cuts of beef that are rubbery. The only good thing now is the fries. It's really too bad because this place used to be awesome, an automatic go-to in the neighbourhood. Now it's not good. read more

I have been going here since it opened, and not just because it is my local haunt. 20 cent wing night Wednesday is the biggest draw - go early as it is always busy! I arrived at 6pm on Wednesday and had to wait for a table nearly 15 minutes. After the manager seated us he immediately took our order as well. Impressive. They also have wings on special on Monday for 25 cents which is not as busy. Very decent draught selection, and plenty of local and imports here as well. Bartender and waitresses are very attentive and service is top notch. Lots of TVs throughout with a few big screens so no bad seat to watch the games and not miss any of the action. They also have a south facing patio welcomes the afternoon and evening crowd in the summer. read more

The food used to be good, but now is terrible definitely not worth the money that you would spend or the time it would take you to go. It really seems like they wanted to put everything into a frying pan of some sort for presentation and then things that shouldn't have lemon in them clearly have lemon in them, like for instance a poutine. My friends nachos we're cold in a frying pan and covered in melted cheese whiz, and the hummus was missing chickpeas garlic lemon and tahini sauce, which is weird cuz those are the only ingredients in hummus. I been to the Berwick many times and had very good food and service. Last night my wife and I decided to stop in for a drink and something to munch on. we decided to have a plate of wings and fries. I have to say I have never been served wings so small in my life. When you ate them all you got was skin and bones. We called the server over to show her and she was embarrassed, gave a few excuses and offered to get us another plate, which I said no unless they were bigger and gave her the plate of wings back. I don't want skin and bones. I took a picture and wish I could share it. Buggy Bird Wings. The second part of this story, is when we went to pay, The server took 15% of our bill and thought she was doing us a favour. So we would have still payed $12 for the wing we returned. We told her we weren't happy and will not be paying for something of such poor quality. read more

They have recently redone their entire menu in an attempt to improve business, this month I've been offering a promotion on Saturday evenings for half-price food. We live in the neighbourhood so we thought that we would give them another girl as the previous times the food has been mediocre at best. The new menu was nothing too amazing more on par with other local pubs. The food was improved from previous visits, but nothing amazing that would make you jump out of your seat and say I have to have this again. Service was fantastic this evening, given that the place was jampacked our waitress was spot on. That's the reason why I gave it four stars maybe 3 1/2 stars would've been more appropriate. We will probably try it again in a month or so and see if it's worth visiting again after that. read more

Nice pub, was quiet on the day we went. Ordered the appetizer platter which was quite tasty and definitely fed the whole table. Our server was great. We would have to go back on a different day to rally assess the atmosphere but overall it was a nice experience. Would definitely go back for the platter! read more

First time at Berwick and was very impressed with the atmosphere of the pub. Wings are good and wine was awesome. Luv they serve Wildrose beer! Extremely under cooked wings. Again. Last time got violently ill. How can wings take 3 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Wings take at least 10 minutes in a deep fryer. They remade another order but came out just as fast, unless their food is pre-made. read more

Great service and staff. The place is always clean. During hockey season it can be hard to find parking and a table. But normally you don't have to wait to long before getting a table. The bartenders are very good at recommending drinks if you aren't sure what to get! read more

Cold beer and good nachos. We got nachos with the pico salsa and they were best we have has in a while. Definitely would get them again. Only knock about them was they were done on paper so lost some those last bits of fried cheese since they were stuck to paper and not the plate. read more

I go to Berwick on a weekly bases. For wings on Monday (30 cents) & on Wednesday (25 cents). In the past I have had phenomenal wings! Thick & juicy with the perfect amount of crisp to them... that is in the PAST though. Recently (the past 3 months) I have gone to the restaurant and found the wings to be extremely inconsistent. Some days the wings are tiny, some days the wings are large, some days the wings are way to crispy, & some days the wings are perfect. Wednesday's are usually dry & extremely crispy (to the point of falling apart at every touch) which I assume is because there are so many people at the bar! (Which is understandable.. sort of) Monday's have been more consistent. In the past month I have found that the quality of each plate of wings now changes EVERY order you make. One order it's the juiciest & best wings you tasted the next it's the skimpiest driest wing you've ever had. All I ask is for more consistency... if your gonna have shitty dry wings than keep it consistent! If your gonna have amazing tasty wings than again, keep it consistent. I will continue to go back to get wings for the next month & if it's still extremely inconsistent than I will not return. - A loyal costumer read more

Service is a hit or miss. I notice that if I ever go in with just girls we seem to be ignored... once walked past 2 or 3 waitresses to head to the patio and 15 minutes later no one had come by to ask for our drink order. Ended up walking out and it was not busy in there so there was no excuse for being ignored. Yet anytime I go with a guy the service is drastically better. Food is consistently good. I was just at the Berwick on Wednesday to get some food to go. I realized it was wing night immediately and spoke to the bartender about getting wings to go. He informed me I would have to pay full price. I agreed and placed my order for 2 lbs of wings to go. In the meantime i sat and had a couple drinks. Well I'm glad I had a drink to occupy my time as I waited for over 45 mins to get my food!!! People who came in after me were well fed and ready to leave before my wings even came out. I am also paying a premium for these wings so how silly of me to think my order shouldn't be pushed to the back of the line!!! I brought this up with the bartender who in no way truly cared about my issue. I then spoke with the manager who was the rudest human i have ever met!!! I assumed he would at the very least apologize for my wait. To my surprise he was abrasive and defensive and basically told me too bad and suck it up. On top of this the wings were cold and tiny and disgusting!! 28 bucks and they went in the garbage. Truth be told me and my girlfriend enjoy our nights out and we do so at least once a week and get a nice tab going. The staff at Brewhouse know us well. We also frequent Tommyfields and Black Bird Pub. This is not our first issue with this bar. The staff is lazy and unfriendly. The food is terrible and the management just proved incompetent for even so much as an apology. This bar is always dead when we have gone and I see why. There have been fights and drunken shenanigans on a regular basis there. I wish I hadn't given it another chance last Wednesday but I have certainly learned my lesson!!! I feel I had to share my experience and will continue to do so online anywhere I can. This bar needs a revamp. We live in Cranston and it has a BRUTAL reputation and no one we know would think of stepping foot in there. Its too bad. We love our neighborhood pubs but this one falls short! read more
