I finally tried Big Biscuit and I'm a bit underwhelmed. I will return but I'll definitely try some other items. I hadn't been in this building since it was Don Chiledos and it looks nice. There's lots of seating and the building is quite large. You can even reserve a room if you're having a gathering. Everyone we encountered was friendly and very nice. However, others have called out the slowness and initial lack of service and I can attest that it's definitely an issue. We waited a decent time, 10-15 minutes, from when we were seated until we were greeted by anyone. And they weren't very busy. I'm not sure if they are short staffed but I feel like that's probably the case. I would advise to order online and just get it to go if you don't want to have to wait. I tried the coffee. I order it black, nothing fancy. And it was fine. I won't be paying $4 in the future for plain, black coffee but at least it was bottomless. I went with the Mayberry: 3 egg omelette with sausage and cheddar, a biscuit with sausage gravy, and hash browns. The omelette was good. It was pretty large and had a good amount of sausage and cheese. I really liked the hash browns. They were crispy and I'd definitely opt for them again. Both the omelette and hash browns were pretty greasy. I really liked the biscuit. It was fluffy and buttery. The sausage gravy exceeded my expectations and I thought it tasted pretty good, no salt or pepper needed. I did also try a bite of the yardbird which is their chicken biscuit sandwich. I thought that the chicken was juicy but the breading really soaked up the grease and that was all I could taste. I would return but I would order something different, like the pancakes or waffles. I would recommend the biscuits and gravy based on this visit.

This is a great spot that just opened in the mission area and wow they did a great job with renovating! The service was fast and the food was even faster! I would totally be coming back for a great breakfast/brunch. Especially since the patio on the left side is very inviting once the weather starts to get better.

Always a favorite for this family. Love the cinnamon roll pancakes. Great breakfast and lunch options. Quick and friendly service. Can't wait for our next breakfast at our favorite spot.

Stopped here for breakfast before hitting up IKEA .. super delicious! Friendly staff & clean restaurant. Would definitely come here again! Honestly some of the best buttery hash browns.

They customized my order to satisfy my dietary needs. The atmosphere is clean and casual. It is an upscale breakfast joint. The menu has many options to choose from. Overall a great experience.

The servers were all working at full speed, serving and meeting the requests of all the patrons. Our server, MASON, had just been triple seated when we arrived, so it took a bit of time for him to greet us, but he was extremely pleasant and promptly brought our cocktails and meals. He even took the time to socialize with us briefly at the end of our meal because he went to a local school that we all knew. We appreciated his personable service, even though he was very busy. I want to express a shout out to the KITCHEN STAFF. They were swamped with many orders and the grill and kitchen were HOT! Also, I appreciated the wheel man who was able to keep all the orders coordinated. Management, at the end of the night, these cooks need a beer (or two) as they navigated an extremely hot kitchen and probably hundreds of orders. Red Door is a not to be missed Monday night. It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

The scampi had a generous portion of good size shrimp. The pork chop was very thick and large yet was very flavorful and tender. The pork chop came with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. However, in looking over the menu I saw they had a variety of sides. I asked if I could change me sides, which they were more than glad to do. I got the carrots and the cornbread. The carrots were delicious and there was a lot of them. The cornbread tasted good but was a little dry. Next time I would stay with the carrots but try something else. As I said the pork chop was very big and I took about half of it home. When I placed my order the waiter asked if I wanted to order a second pork chop, which I passed on. However, next time I may take him up on the offer and have an additional one to take home. All around I give it 5 stars. Also, we asked about desert. There was no desert menu nor a desert tray to help us make a decision. The waiter did rattle off the desert options, however this was kind of busy to follow. A desert menu or try would certainly go a lot further, as far as we are concerned. In summary, the food was outstanding, the service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant.

For our drinks we orders 'Have a Cigar' and a low sugar mocktail they created for me. Both were made very well and were super refreshing. For our mains, we ordered, 'Black Cardamon Burnt ends', 'Tandoori Chicken' and 'Smash burger with peri peri fries' and for desert we ordered the parle g mango ice-cream' sandwich with some aromatic chai. My most favorite dish out of all were the burnt ends - they had a superb fusion flavor of Indian spices which went well with the meat and paired well with the grits. Trust me when i say this that i would eat this everyday for the rest of my life if i could. The smash burger and peri peri fries were excellent and definitely hit the spot. The real disappointed was with Tandoori chicken. I felt the chicken did not pair well with the sambar risotto and the fried okra even though it tasted good, was an after thought. The rice in the risotto was very grainy and undercooked. I told that to our server and they instantly apologized and acknowledged the issue and also proceeded to remove the dish from our bill. After that the chai was very warm and comforting and the parle g ice-cream biscuits were nostalgic and a great way to finish the meal. While not every dish was perfect, i love the excellent customer service they provided and the way the owner/manager/staff handled our feedback. I will be back to try more food here - 5/5.

We were seated on time at a table next to the bar-side of the dining room. Speaking of the dining room, it's a nice, if standard size for a strip-mall space, but I really appreciated that the tables were not stacked on top of each other, as seems to be the case at more and more places these days. It felt like there might be some chance of our entire conversation not being completely overheard by our neighbors, which was nice for a change! Our waitress was fantastic! She walked us through the menu, the restaurant's approach to cooking and seasonality, some of her faves, and made wonderful recommendations! We decided to split a few small plates, which was a great approach! We got to try about 1/3 of the small plate menu, and loved it all! It was all great, but the Black Cardamom Burnt Ends are NOT to be missed! It made my cardamom-loving, Midwest soul very, very happy indeed! The space is a really nice size - not massive or overwhelming - and with the shades drawn down (to seal out the late afternoon sun, thank goodness!) and dim lighting, the mood vibes were solid for a romantic anniversary dinner! The other ambiance item of note is that the restroom corridor smelled absolutely fantastic! Upon investigation, it was due to a burning candle from a lovely local-KC company that was custom made for the restaurant! Yes, they're for sale, and yes, we picked up two! While everything was lovely and the food was very good, you're definitely paying a high price for it. Not that it's not deserved, but the "value" feels aren't necessarily "off the charts", by any means. And that is really my only critique, if there is any at all! Food = 5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5
