PROTEIN POWER BOWL

Stopped in here for a late breakfast on Saturday, We were seated right away with no wait. Our waitress was quick to take our drink orders. We were ready to order when the drinks arrived. Food didn't take long to arrive at our table and had large portions with good flavor.

Why WHY THE FRENCH HATES US
Alondra G.

As a breakfast place in the suburbs don't arrive on a weekend and expect a quick table. The waiting area can get crowded with people waiting for close to an hour. You can get in the queue for a table from home to make it easier and quicker. I enjoy the food and even enjoy their hot coffee. My server, Fanny, was phenomenal. She was kind, funny, and quick. The fun menu names for food definitely swayed my order and I think the price is reasonable for the amount of food. This would be a good brunch spot for small and large groups.

"Pretty disappointed with the breakfast here. It was a half-hour wait and the place was packed, so I had pretty high hopes. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to it. As you can see in the photos, the pancake was really flat with a strange crispy layer, the over-medium eggs were overcooked, the hash browns were soggy instead of crispy, and the bacon came out cold. The sausage didn't really taste like sausage either. The food was mediocre at best"

THE KITCHEN SINK

My husband and I tried out this location for brunch. Since there were only two of us, the wait was about 20 minutes. We were seated in the server, came over quickly. I asked for a gluten-free menu because of the regular menu nothing is specified as gluten-free. I had to look on my phone to find out that they had a gluten-free menu that could be requested. My husband ordered the skillet called "The Kitchen Sink" which he rated as a four out of five. He said it was just a tad greasy. I ended up just getting two eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, which I gave to my husband, and a gluten-free blueberry pancake. My eggs were cooked right and the hashbrowns were good. I think the sausage was slightly overcooked, and I gave it to him to add to his skillet. The blueberry gluten-free pancake was extremely thin and it was kind of rubbery and difficult to cut so I only ate about 3/4 of it. The service was good throughout. The table seemed quite sticky, but I think it was the general coating on the table. I feel like the music did not fit the restaurant as it was a lot of pop music.

The host asked if we would like a booth or table. Our server quickly approached with water. Our order arrived shortly after placing it with our server. The food came out hot. It was good. The salsa was on the side. It was too spicy. It was a clean and quiet restaurant.

Came in on a weekend morning and only had to wait a few minutes for a table. The most difficult thing here was actually navigating to the parking lot. Have to go up to the side street, coming around a few other businesses and back down. I opted for the Notorious B.N.G. The namesake B&G were pretty good. Had scrambled eggs that were also good. The real winner was the crispy hash browns. And the sausage links were just so so. This is a pretty basic, solid, won't leave you hungry breakfast. And since I haven't croaked of a heart attack (yet), I also adventurously snagged the S'mores waffle. This is where things get confusing. It's one of the best and worst things I've ever eaten. It was fluffy, well constructed with chocolate syrup, we. Golden Grahams, marshmallow, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. And the first bite was magical, but extremely rich. But the time I was done, it was really just too rich. This thing should be something split between a couple people as a dessert honestly. Anyways, fun stop with good food and service. Will most likely be back to try more of the menu.

I've been here for breakfast a couple of times, and that is their forte. The meals are massive and cooked well. I've tried skillets, breakfast burritos, or just bacon and eggs. All were good. The team also made sure we had plenty of coffee. I would skip lunch here. I had the burger and fries and they tasted like processed frozen food. I was a little disappointed after all the great breakfasts. Great service, good food, great location

Oily Corned Beef Hash

I love Corned beef and Hash. I had a craving and was getting tires installed down the street. I walked in and was seated right away. However it took a while before the server came around. I saw him give a little attitude when a grandfather and granddaughter asked for a marker to write on the wall. I ordered the corned beef and hash. When it arrived it looked great. After digging into it, it was the oiliest mess I have ever tasted. There was a few shreds of meat in a bed of oily hash browns. The eggs were the only thing this plate had going for it. Not coming back. See the picture. The restroom was my friend for the rest of the morning.

Overall not my favorite breakfast place, especially with kids. They don't have the fun coloring sheets/crayons that my children have come to expect from other kid friendly restaurants. The food was fine. For the price, I would've expected a larger serving size as I can usually take home half my meal and with this, I ate it all. The service was a little slower than expected with how busy they were. The writing on the walls would be fun if there were any open spaces, but it's jam packed. The workers were very friendly though!

Super good breakfast or brunch. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and spot on. Be hungry when you get there. They give you plenty of food!!

Service was great, we were in a bit of a rush to make it to a soccer game (1 mile away from Scheels Soccer Complex) and our waitress squeezed in our order to help get us going. Food was good. We were caught off guard because they weren't serving lunch, only breakfast. I guess they only offer lunch Monday through Friday. Food was good, coffee hot, and I got a to-go cup to take some coffee with me!

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here a few weeks ago, and had a great experience!…read more We made a reservation for a Friday evening during primetime. We were seated on time at a table next to the bar-side of the dining room. Speaking of the dining room, it's a nice, if standard size for a strip-mall space, but I really appreciated that the tables were not stacked on top of each other, as seems to be the case at more and more places these days. It felt like there might be some chance of our entire conversation not being completely overheard by our neighbors, which was nice for a change! Our waitress was fantastic! She walked us through the menu, the restaurant's approach to cooking and seasonality, some of her faves, and made wonderful recommendations! We decided to split a few small plates, which was a great approach! We got to try about 1/3 of the small plate menu, and loved it all! It was all great, but the Black Cardamom Burnt Ends are NOT to be missed! It made my cardamom-loving, Midwest soul very, very happy indeed! The space is a really nice size - not massive or overwhelming - and with the shades drawn down (to seal out the late afternoon sun, thank goodness!) and dim lighting, the mood vibes were solid for a romantic anniversary dinner! The other ambiance item of note is that the restroom corridor smelled absolutely fantastic! Upon investigation, it was due to a burning candle from a lovely local-KC company that was custom made for the restaurant! Yes, they're for sale, and yes, we picked up two! While everything was lovely and the food was very good, you're definitely paying a high price for it. Not that it's not deserved, but the "value" feels aren't necessarily "off the charts", by any means. And that is really my only critique, if there is any at all! Food = 5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5

I have visited on several occasions and always leave satisfied. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu because everything is flavorful, and the portions are generous for the price. It's really good! It was a newer, clean restaurant with quite a few tables to sit inside. I signed up for their rewards program and I'm already receiving some good deals from them. It's also fun to try to stop the clock on exactly 10:00 which will get you a free meal. I stopped it at 10:04. I lost but I was the closest of the others I saw try while I was there. lol You can order, online, at the kiosk right inside the front door, or at the register. I got the large (20 piece) chicken nugget. There's not a lot of price difference in the smallest and largest so I went with the largest, it's plenty and I had over 3 meals. It comes with a side and I chose getting the waffle! Yum. The nuggets are juicy and flavorful. The waffle was also terrific. 2 of my family had wings and the other had Asian Chili loaded fries. I'm not a fan of wings but I tasted the Asian chili fries and they were tasty! The prices are very reasonable for what you get and all the employees were very nice. We will definitely be going back!!

Scotch Eggs in Leawood?…read more Located in a suburban strip mall around 129th and State Line in Leawood, there is ample parking in the communal lot. Stepping inside the atmosphere is that of a real (modern) Irish pub, with a full bar and comfortable tables. An old wood and leather feel that sets the stage for authentic Irish fare. Having been to their restaurant in Westwood, I have to say that I like this location better - it just "feels" better. Being part of a group of about 20 for lunch, we were seated in a separate room which made socializing easy without bothering the other customers. After being welcomed by our waiter, menus passed out and drink orders taken, we were informed that their chef was from Dublan and that dishes were made fresh in-house. While I did see Scotch Eggs (I like to think of them as an Irish version of an Egg McMuffin) on the menu, I jumped on their Fish & Chips. The breaded North Atlantic Cod was moist and flakey at the same time, with a great flavor. Included was slaw, mushy peas, and their house cut fries (all very tasty). A dash of malt vinegar and a squeeze of lemon later and I was loving it all! Portions were all pretty large, so come hungry and expect to leave satisfied. Prices are well within expectations considering quality of service, food, and atmosphere. Having been a waiter "back in the day" I was impressed with the friendly and efficient service. Not once did I see anyone waiting overly long for drink refills or their meals. That is very comforting during these "post COVID" times of reopening and short staffing. Kudo's to all involved. It is nice to see a true Irish pub in the middle of Leawood. With this one and the one on Rainbow being about the same distance from my Lee's Summit home, expect to see me returning often. Next time I will try their Scotch Eggs!

Place is the bomb. Food is amazing, atmosphere is perfect and the service is the best.read more

Went there for dinner last night to celebrate a birthday…read more We had the shrimp scampi and the pork chop. Both main courses were excellent. The scampi had a generous portion of good size shrimp. The pork chop was very thick and large yet was very flavorful and tender. The pork chop came with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. However, in looking over the menu I saw they had a variety of sides. I asked if I could change me sides, which they were more than glad to do. I got the carrots and the cornbread. The carrots were delicious and there was a lot of them. The cornbread tasted good but was a little dry. Next time I would stay with the carrots but try something else. As I said the pork chop was very big and I took about half of it home. When I placed my order the waiter asked if I wanted to order a second pork chop, which I passed on. However, next time I may take him up on the offer and have an additional one to take home. All around I give it 5 stars. Also, we asked about desert. There was no desert menu nor a desert tray to help us make a decision. The waiter did rattle off the desert options, however this was kind of busy to follow. A desert menu or try would certainly go a lot further, as far as we are concerned. In summary, the food was outstanding, the service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I tend to be a bit weary of chain restaurants. I have to say though, this one had a really nice vibe and I get why people like it here. First of all, it's a nice restaurant with elevated vibes. It reminded me of places I used to go with my grandparents as a kid. It had great service, comfortable seating, and a nice menu. If anything it just feels like it caters to an older crowd - nothing wrong with that, just not my usual vibe. For brunch that day I had the migas and it was really great. Tons of food, and I easily made two meals out of my lunch. Something to note about the menus though is that they don't have a kids menu. They did share items for kids that they have on hand, but no physical menu to look at so not sure the prices or anything. Our daughter had a hamburger and she loved it so that was a win. One plus was she was able to get a side of fruit instead of fries, which was a win for her since she has declared that she only likes McDonald's french fries these days. Overall this is a nice sit restaurant with table service that has an elevated and sophisticated vibe. Likely geared towards older generations but younger folks will find plenty to enjoy here as well.
