My son and I had brunch the other day. We were seated promptly and had good service from our waitress. Our good came out in a decent amount of time. I had a pick 4 of breakfast items and my son had their cheeseburger and fries and a coffee. He said his food was good. My eggs and sausage and hash browns were good. The bathroom could be a bit cleaner and the front desk cashier was somewhat rude. But the food was generally good and our regular waitress was nice and attentive. I wish they did have at least a gluten free English muffin or toast for a breakfast option or sandwich.

This is probably one of the best brunch spots in mission and north OP. The service is extremely fast and the food is amazing. You might get there and the line looks 30 people long, but they move fast in and out of the kitchen. The inside is a classic diner feel without the long diner bar seating. I usually get the California skillet because it's just one of the best things on the menu but also the pancakes are soooooo good.

How I've lived in KC for 8 years and not been to VI will remain a mystery to me. Decor is cozy and retro with an MCM vibe. They have a mix and match breakfast where you can order 4 different things. So my husband and I pulled a silver fox grandparent move and split it. I had the French toast, bacon with a side of scrambled eggs. He had turkey sausage and scrambled eggs. Turkey sausage option was great as husband is allergic to pork. The French toast was both crisp and pillowy- exactly what I had hoped for. Service was prompt and I liked that when we ordered coffee they leave a small Pot on the table. We had breakfast for around $20 minus tip- not bad for a breakfast date!

We've been looking for a cozy diner-type of place for a while. FPO read about this place and was really excited to try it out. The restaurant was very clean with the exception of their ceiling fans. It looked like they just recently replaced the carpet tiles and ceiling tiles. The booths also looked recently redone. It was late-ish afternoon and a little on the slow side. We were greeted as soon as we entered and shown to a booth. It was Red Friday and many of the staff had on their Chiefs gear. Sally was our server and she was very nice. Friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items she made helpful recommendations. FPO had the double blueberry pancakes with sausage and a side of bacon and was very impressed with everything ordered. I had the Smothered Chicken Dinner. Because everything up to this point had gone so well, I wanted to like the food more than I actually did. The chicken breasts were dry and needed seasoning. The green beans were canned and mushy. The Texas toast tasted like sweetbread that was coated in a liquid margarine before being fried on a flat top (really greasy). I will say, the mashed potatoes and gravy helped offset the dryness of the chicken. FPO can't wait to go back again, either to have pancakes again or maybe try the French Toast or one of their pies. I think I'm going to need a little more time.

It's a home style place to go for a quick meal. The service was nice and accommodating to our large party. Prices aren't too bad, but +$4 for a small cinnamon roll was a no for me. I went with the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. And with the side of onion rings it was delicious. The portions were a good size and we left very satisfied.

After fasting for a lab I was ready for breakfast and coffee so I picked up my husband and we headed to Village Inn. I ordered spinach bacon omelette which was superb and the coffee served in a carafe which was right up my alley. K was our server and she was very good and stayed on top of everything. The only complaint was the fries my husbands burger was child sized.. fries are not that costly so a few more would have been better for a $12 burger and fries

Disregard every preconceived notion you have ever had about this place and realize that you just might be missing out on some of the best comfort food in town! I have friends who make fun of me for eating here, but the joke is on them. Breakfast is always spot on, with awesome, crispy, hashbrowns (one of my favorite things in life). The eggs benedict is simply perfect! I like to ask them to run my english muffin through twice because I prefer it a tad on the crunchy side. For lunch, the turkey and avocado sandwich will make you think Martha Stewart is in the kitchen slicing up turkey breasts to build you a delicious masterpiece. When it's time for dinner, don't miss your chance to have Thanksgiving anytime of the year with their "Slow Roasted Turkey" (hand-carved turkey breast served with cornbread stuffing, red skin mashed potatoes and turkey gravy, cranberry sauce and a fresh-baked buttermilk biscuit). It will make you miss your family - unless you don't like your family - then, you'll just be glad to have turkey dinner without any of the holiday drama. Did I mention they have pie? If you haven't tried Village Inn, it's time to throw caution to the wind and wrap yourself in comfort with a scrumptious home cooked meal.

Ahh, just down the street from my home.. Village Inn. I have probably passed this place for years through days of driving to highschool, college, and now work. Today I finally tried it. For $10.29 I got EVERYTHING i could have wanted for breakfast. Eggs, Sausage, French Toast & Biscuit with gravy. I can't say many bad things besides this place being a diner for people that are well, older I guess. Didn't spot anyone below the age of 45-50 in here besides the waiters. Service was prompt. I will be coming back here!

They premix their cocktails and he was happy to let me try a sip of the ones that interested me. Speaking of.... They're quite ingenious! While cucumber flavor in a drink is hardly revolutionary, red bell pepper IS- and you can taste it! None of them were to my particular liking, but to be honest, I am a bit of a picky eater. He had great patience with me on modifications to my burger- and, again, remembered that I didn't want the sauce. This is honestly a cool little place with a super chill vibe. I AM sad that for a place with a good patio, dogs aren't allowed.... But such is life, I suppose.

He greeted us with a smile, took our orders, and then checked back with us several times during the course of our meal to ensure we were enjoying our food and had everything we needed. Everything moved like clockwork, from our seating to ordering to receiving our food to paying the bill. The food was OUTSTANDING!! I had the grilled chicken avocado club, and it was absolutely superb!! It was a complete chicken breast, and full avocado slices, grilled bacon, tomato, lettuce, and a very tasty sauce. All the flavors melded together perfectly, and I almost wished I'd ordered a second sandwich! My husband had the truffle cheesesteak melt, and he said it was amazing. The cheese was so tasty--like provel, or boursin--and the beef was tender and juicy. Both of us had fries on the side--his was regular fries and mine were sweet potato fries--and both were cooked to perfection (crispy, not greasy). The menu for 30hop is extensive, with plenty of options. They also have ample selections of beer and wine, and a full bar available. The restaurant itself is very open and airy; the tables are far enough apart that you don't feel crowded, and the music is soft enough that you can have a conversation at a normal volume. There are plenty of screens to keep up with your favorite sports, too. It was a wonderful first visit, and we will DEFINITELY return for many more meals! It was juicy, tender, and very clearly fresh. We tried the Crispy Chicken Strips, and that pretzel breading they have was so crisp and satisfying. I appreciated that the bartender warned me the regular breading on the fried chicken bites had a mild spice. I can't do spice at all, so that kind of heads-up really matters. The fries were really good too. They were seasoned enough to add flavor without taking over the meal, which I think is especially important with fried chicken. I only wish they had come out a little hotter because paired with how fresh the chicken was, that would have made the plate pretty much perfect. Still..they were absolutely worth eating. The fried chicken bites were also fresh and tasty. We did think they could have used a little more breading, but it did not take away from the overall dish. Sauces- My partner tried the mango habanero sauce and said it smelled spicier than it actually tastes! Which was helpful intel from my spice tester that I'm passing from me to you! For me, the honey mustard was a standout. I'm not sure if they make it in house, but it was one of those sauces that immediately makes you think, okay yes, this is one of the good honey mustard places!! You don't do that? The smashed potatoes and gravy deserve their own paragraph because they were fantastic. This is the kind of side that makes a place more memorable. I love when a restaurant has a few items or sauces that feel a little different from the usual copy and paste menus. The smashed potatoes were great on their own, but that skillet-style gravy really made them level up. The vibe was another plus. It was a Saturday night and it wasn't overly crowded. This is the kind of casual dive bar you can just hang out and actually talk. There's a little game room with pool, darts, and a giant Connect Four setup! That was super fun! I won at Connect Four so obviously that made it more fun, but it was great and a nice little add beyond just being another place to grab fried food and a drink. For a divey spot, everything also felt decently clean and well kept. The bathrooms were clean, and the bar area looked pretty and maintained. They've got a jukebox you can control from your phone, which is such a fun touch. Yes, it costs money like a normal jukebox, but being able to do it from your phone is pretty nice. My one real issue was service based, after I accidentally spilled my drink it never got cleaned up, so I ended up sitting with my feet in soda through the rest of the meal. I only saw two people working though, so it felt more like understaffing than indifference. We were too full for dessert, but we had to try the crème brûlée cheesecake so we took it home. It was decadent, and a little different! The cherry marshmallow sauce on top was not your standard finish, and I really liked that. That was kind of my overall takeaway from Strip's. It doesn't feel like a copy-and-paste bar food spot. A couple things could have been better, but the food was strong enough that I'd definitely come back.

I tried the Gunslinger Gold West Coast IPA that was brewed with Red Crow. It was a really good, nicely done IPA. We ordered food to go and our order was accurate. We started with the Crispy Portobello Strips: Fresh Portabello Mushroom caps cut into strips & fried with pretzel breading. These were probably my favorite thing that we ordered. They weren't soggy and you could actually taste the mushrooms because the breading was light. I also ordered the Crispy Chicken Strips:Zesty Batter & Pretzel Breading. They came with a side so I opted for the fries. I was honestly underwhelmed. They weren't bad but they weren't amazing either. The chicken was well cooked. The breading was good. But it kept reminding me of frozen Tyson chicken nuggets. The taste that is. The fries were also average. I really liked the honey mustard sauce and it saved the meal overall. Since they had mac and cheese, I decided to try it. It wasn't the best and it wasn't the worst I've ever had. Again, just average. I really wanted to love this place due to the people and beer but I wasn't blown away. They do have burgers and other offerings so I may need to return to try some other items. I'd definitely stop in for a beer and some mushrooms.

It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!
