I asked for the four plates to be cut into steaks which I've done on occasion when feeling lazy on 10lb+ orders, but this time seemed different and they kept all the points -- the plate is a triangle. I didn't realize that they'd keep so much of the "trimmings" so I went from 11.88lbs to just over 9 which means they kept just over 2.5 lbs which presumably goes into their ground beef. Works out to $20 a lb for me. I did have a pleasant FB messenger conversation with someone, but I've been a member at Costco for 20 years (kept my membership active) so I'll be going back to them full time. My advice to customers. Ask for the trimmings if you're asking them to butcher any meat product. Especially picahna which is super easy to do. My advice to Fred's. Ask the customers if they want the trimmings.

The first thing that you notice when you walk into Garofalo's is how great it smells: it's like getting hit in the face with a cinder block of glorious fucking awesomeness. It smells THAT good. I love it. I really don't think there's a single thing here that isn't fantastic. I'm especially in love with their smoked ribs. The stuffed pork chops are awesome. They make all sorts of phenomenal sausages. They also sell a variety of other things: various cheeses, meats, spices, canned tomatoes, olive oil and more. The staff at Garofalo's are great as well. They're very friendly. This place is obviously in the best hands. If you're not familiar with the area, it might be a little tricky to find because it's on a weird little road. There really isn't any parking (I normally walk here from my Schenectady office anyway), so the best place is to just park in the lot around the bend behind Perreca's and Cornell's. Garofalo's is well within walking distance from there. Garofalo's accepts credit cards, but there's a minimum amount (which is $15 if I recall correctly). Be warned: If you're going there today for the smoked ribs, you're SOL. I'm pretty sure I bought them out for the day. That's how I roll.

Always great quality and always exactly what I am looking for. Jeff and his family are always willing to help me out when I am looking for something different. Given they get their supplies wholesale, I am not disappointed when they cannot. After all, it is a small town and not everyone cooks and eats what I ask for. We often call ahead for special sized cuts, or if I am looking for a bulk order. If I call early enough in the day I can pick them up by that afternoon. Otherwise, they will be ready by the day and hour they tell you. On the customer side of the counters is a perfect supply of the daily needs... milk, bread, condiments, snacks, some fresh vegetables, and most other general cooking needs. A perfect stop on the way home from work to get those quick-grab-staples. Their pre-prepped meals (chicken cordon bleu, stuffed porkchops, marinated chicken breasts, bbq ribs, etc.) and premade sides (potato salads, mac salads, tortellini salads, etc.) are consistently available and nicely done. Their recipes are well seasoned and ready to eat, but easily adapted in your own kitchen to hit that flavor your mom used to make. From the deli, the Boar's Head deli meats and cheeses are always as expected, but don't miss out on their own baked/roasted meats. They are without a doubt competing against their BH meats. When it is time for a sandwich, their subs are one of the best in the area. My only gripe would be that the rolls they use for the subs are not on the bread rack for me to buy and take home. When it became difficult or unwise to shop for meat in the grocery store during the pandemic we ordered several times from Reliable Bros. At the time we thought it was a stop gap measure until things settled down. The first time that we ordered changed our minds completely. The experience was amazing, they took our order over the phone, they described any item that we asked about, they offered suggestions and options when some meats were only sold in large volume. Then we tried the meat. Everything was amazing. The next time that we ordered we placed an order for almost $1,000 for ourselves and a few family and friends. Again the process was amazing, everything was packaged and ready when they said it would be. They cut whole pieces to order exactly has discussed. There wasn't a single thing that we ordered that wasn't of superior quality, yet very reasonably priced. The prime strip steaks were perfect and this was after we had frozen them which we never have done pre pandemic. The corned beef...nothing short of amazing. Easily the best corned beef we have ever had and we eat quite a bit of corned beef. The chicken was great, the pork chops and pork tenderloin were far better than any I have purchased at Price Chopper. The most important thing is the quality of what we eat and this more than checked that box. If you want prime meat cut or packaged exactly as you want at a price far less expensive than the grocery store and sold by nice, knowledgeable people give them a call. You won't be disappointed!
