Incompetent and lazy staff in the poker room. 3 out of 5 dealers made eggregious errors and were indifferent to them. Example 1 - player A asks if player B wants to run it twice. Player B clearly and loudly says no. Distracted dealer runs it twice. Example 2 - Player A bets $150. Dealer says bet is pot and says $240 to call. She just 'assumed' it was a pot bet, didn't check the chips in the pot. 2 dealers were solid, the gentlemen running the board was dedicated. My dad & I played poker here twice on Friday afternoons, with the second time being earlier today, and very much enjoyed it both times. Each time we arrived, we were seated within 10-15 minutes of getting there. The red headed women in charge of seating all the poker players to their assigned tables was very much on top of it, and ensured everyone was seated quickly which was great as not all casinos have the same sense of urgency that she had. They deserve four stars just for their player promotions. We signed up and got two strings of colored beads, a pen, and $15 in free play. You actually swipe your card in a machine and it downloads $15 to your account. You use the card in the slot machines (making sure it registers; the lights around the slot turns green). They you transfer money using your special pin from your account to the machine. It's easy once you get the hang of it. We played for over an hour on their money. And walked away with some cash in hand in addition. The casino still has the low ceilings of the former Marco gras, but it feels newer and the carpeting has been replaced so no more dank smoky smell. There is no smoking in the casino and there weren't many smokers by the entrance to have to walk through. Inside there are plenty of staff walking around should you have a question or need assistance. There's also a snack bar with sandwiches and a regular bar. It's nice to see the changes that this Casino has implemented, most of all, I love what has happened to the Poker Room! The $599 high hand every hour from 10 am to 10 pm draws the crowds, but it's the management that has upped the ante on how to be a winning poker room for patrons. Now I know that you'll never please everyone, but this room has done wonders with the caliber of dealers in their employ, and it's good to see Brian Abdul-Majid amongst the floor staff! Brian is an asset to any poker room in the world, he's just that good and a consummate professional. Patrons and staff are in good hands with him in charge. Both Victor A. & Victor are a welcome sight since I've known them since the poker room was on the second floor! I've gotten to know other floor supervisors, like Danny & one other late night manager who are always so accommodating and professional. The fact that the room is so easy to access with the parking lot right outside, is a BIG PLUS and a big deciding factor of why I favor this poker room over all the others. Shout out to the cashiers as well, always smiling and welcoming and know the denominations I prefer my buy-in. The cocktail servers are always on point and I LOVE the quality, taste, and price of the food! The kitchen is surprisingly amazing! Love all the dealers, most are above average in their mechanics and it's truly always a pleasure to play there. This is one womans opinion and I am sticking with it. The band has been moved to a section where machines are. people sitting at the machines are not playing or drinking and taking up space where people can be playing. You risk confortations when you ask someone to move. Revue i am sure are being lost because of this. I noticed all the Saturdays before the band was moved here the machines were packed. My solution would be move the band back by the restrooms where you are not near machines. Close to the bar more tables could fit. It was there years ago with the Mardi Gras. Another thing drinks are pumped up to 9 dollars or 13 dollars. Nothing to the drink. Little glass lots of ice. This used to be my favorite casino. It gives me the feeling that all of their revue is coming from the poker room and not much is being done for the casino players. Very sad because as I said this was one of my favorite casinos.
