Located a hop, skip, and jump north of the Hard Rock Stadium, this is definitely more of a locals casino. The positives are that it is non smoking (they do have a smoking section outside but you never have to encounter it if you don't want to), staff is super friendly, free fountain drinks, the cafe has some decent food, and the paybacks are pretty good. The cons are the machine hogs playing multiple games at the same time, those blocking off games and turning chairs with change in the machine for hours so others can't play, and the messy folks that leave food or trash on or near the machines/chairs. The occasionally have Bingo, check their website for a calendar of events. There is also a restaurant there but it doesn't seem to be open on any consistent basis. read more

My husband and I enjoy going to casinos we've never been to when we travel. Calder was quiet and small. Was disappointed that they do not level match with other casinos. Nevertheless, we had a good time and lost $100 each. Tried many machines and only hit bonuses on one machine. I love to win, even if it's a few dollars, but nothing here! We received free play so we will return again. If we didn't receive free play, we wouldn't go back. Overall, it's always fun exploring new casinos! read more

For me, this is the perfect casino. Here's why: it's not fancy, it's not big, it's not crowded, drinks are cheap, and they have video table games. I love playing roulette, poker, and blackjack, but real table games intimidate me. I was able to get my video gamblin' in to my heart's content here. Go elsewhere. The RTP is off badly. They have fell off badly. I sat next to a lady that complained about how the machines weren't paying out anywhere, and heard the guy say well you'd need to spend more than you are. What a disgusting remark. Jus go to hard rock. read more

Always a good time to be had here. I really enjoy their events. Their New Year party was fun. There was a DJ, a live band, several giveaways and free champagne toast at midnight. There are great options for food choices and I have not been disappointed. The fix is made in house and super affordable. There is free soda and the main casino is non smoking, which I appreciate. Variety of games, not very crowded, large bar, drink stations and a few waitresses that come around, I just don't have any luck here and you don't here too many other people as well. My husband and I had a terrible experience Saturday 12/23/23. At a point in the evening, a patron of the casino asks if my husband if he had found a $100 ticket to which my husband said no. We found it a bit odd that the guy was lurking behind us for a bit. We decided to call it when we go to exit the casino we were surrounded by security and casino management. Management accused my husband of taking the ticket and quote "he took something that was not his." I cannot tell you how many times management said "we have you on camera." I was in such shock how accusatory he was, so sure of himself. We kept saying well, then "show us..". After back forth, he said he was going to get his manager and we patiently waited. We then overhear on the radio "they are free to go." We were humiliated and embarrased that all this occured. What ticked me off and I found COMPLETELY unacceptable is that the management team member that was so accusatory FAILED to come out and show his face, have the common respect to say "hey we made a mistake and we are sorry." He hid behind a wall and had his security team deliver the "free to go." No apology is what all this boils down to. We wrote an email to Calder and got no response. Do better with this approach in these situations, no one deserves to be embarrassed like that. read more

The casino is near to the Football stadium. While entering there in the property, there is plenty of parking. Entered in the north entrance and noticed the area looks and feels clean. There was also no terrible cigarette smells which is normally associated with casinos. I went to the player's club to sign up as a new member to get my $50 free play credits. However after signing up as a new member the $50 free play credit is not applied in one go. I will have to spin the digital wheel 3 times each on a different day within 30 days of each other. What ever it lands is what I will get for the credit. Going have to wait nearly 60 days to get the full 50 dollars of free play credit. read more

I actually want to give Calder a three and a half star rating. I will start off with the more negative things I find about Calder. The parking is difficult. They really do not have much parking in the main area and I always have to park far away. I really don't mind this unless it is raining. It seems like no matter what time of day I go there it is busy, which I guess is good for them. I also think their variety of game denominations is limited. It seems like the majority of the machines are penny slots now. I am not a fan of those and it is harder and harder to find quarter machines. Onto the good stuff. The staff is pretty friendly at Calder. I had some great laughs with the fun people at the Players Club yesterday. They were super friendly and cheerful. I like that you can get a free soft drink at the machine. They actually have two drink machines, one on each side of the casino. It is nice to enjoy a cold drink, especially on a hot day like it usually is down here. I also like that they have live music on the weekends. It seems like all ages come here and it can be a fun environment on the weekends. I also like that they have contests where you can win free play because I've been lucky enough to win that a few times. It is always a fun day when I get to stop by Calder Casino. read more

Ok, so I just moved to Miami and after enjoying the Hard Rock, I thought I'd give this place a try. It's a mixed bag. Due to Miami-Dade rules, you can't have a drink, not even a soda at the machines with u. No smoking but there is an outside area with slots that u can smoke at, if u smoke. The welcome staff is super friendly and they are very welcoming too. Calder's is actually immaculately clean as well. NOW THE BAD: I've played slots and dozens of casinos, even the Seminole properties, Vegas, New Orleans too. These have to be the tightest slots I've ever encountered in my life. After about 6 hrs I only hit a few bonuses. That's unheard of. Outside of the friendly staff and clean atmosphere, I don't think I'll be back. read more

On Friday night around 10:15pm September 15 2023. I walked in the Casino and began playing on a slot machine and after 5 minutes, a black older woman approached me and said you are on my slot machine. I replied that I had been sitting here for over 5 minutes on this slot machine. She walked away and came back who was identified today as being the head of security with 3 security guards. I tried to explain to him about what happened and he just asked me to get up and leave the Casino before he calls the police. I got up took my ticket and cashed it out while the head of security and the 3 security followed me out the door. A few days later, and after I left a negative review on their site, I get a call from the Calder Casino Manager telling me that if that's what happened, the head of security had no right escorting me of the Casino, and that he was going to review the Casino video. Today, September 26, I finally got a call back from the Calder Casino Manager telling me that he reviewed the tape, and it seems that I at my no time seem nasty or aggressive but that the head of security informed him that the old black lady told the head of security that I had told her a Racial slur, and that was why he escorted me out. I insisted with the Manager that on the video tapes, did I seem to be engaged in a argument with the black lady which he agreed that our conversation seemed short and the lady walked away. Let me be clear that I would have never used a racial slur to anyone especially since I have a half brother from my father side who is black. Not to mention that I also have bi racial family members. This black lady got away with her lies while I went through the embarrassment of being escorted out of Calder Casino for no reason whatsoever. More so, I had been a loyal customer going there for over 2 years and bringing friends and family members to become members. Not to mention that I was going there every Tuesday and Thursday for Senior Citizens day and sometimes on the weekends. The Calder Casino Manager could only offer his apology for his Security Managers conduct and asked me to return to the Calder Casino, without any compensation for the embarrassment I went through but asked if I would come back. I informed him that I would never ever set foot at Calder Casino ever again and he seemed fine with it. Rick Martinez read more

Staff is very friendly Security guard right at the entrance, which makes you doubt if the place is safe LOL... Soft drinks area was very dirty (I wish I had taken a picture )... but everything else looks clean. Old machines, but payout is fair Not too many table games (only poker) We ordered a few cocktails and after 2 hrs playing and waiting for the drinks we decided to leave... we broke-even... so it wasn't so bad! Not my first time here but brought my mom for the first time to celebrate her birthday to see if she could win some money. When you refer someone new they give you a buffet and a $10.00 free spin. The only machine you cant bet on is the black jack machine. You have to use the full $10.00 before you can cash out. My mom also got a 25 % discount at Luckys which is the cafe in the casino. She also received a 50% discount for drinks at the bar. We bout French fries and garlic potatoes which taste really good I must say. We had some drinks so needed some starch. My mom had a good time we didnt win much but still it was nice. We didn't try the buffet because it was closed. The hostess in the front was friendly and the staff at Luckys. They decorated for Christmas which was very festive and nice. read more

I like going to Calders . I have had better chances of winning than at the other Casinos here in South Florida . I'm very dis-satisfied with the hot seats & VIP drawing & weekly HOT seats drawing .For The VIP drawings I had Over 20,000 entries & NOT even a chance to win anything . That's Ridiculous . It's a lot smaller than it looks---heeyyyyo! They have $10 free play when you sign up for a card and when I went there last wk, I got $20 in free play thanks to an ad in the paper so keep your eyes peeled! The one drawback? The sketchy people there. Good God, I wanted to whip out my camera because they people were Peopleofwalmart league However, they do have free soda in two convenient locations in the casino so that makes me warm on the inside. Calder has a pretty good buffet in my opinion. Price was $21.99. I had a little bit of most everything. I will start with negative because it's very short. Stuffed salmon was dry and tasteless. Dinner roll. Hard like a bullet. Seemed old, too. Warm your buns, staff! Most likely shipped in by a food distributor and not a bakery. But, who foolishly eats bread at a buffet anyways? Positives - Turkey and pork. If you can slice through that similar to the broccoli, then you know it was perfect. Broccoli was firm and seasoned nicely . Same with the meat. Loved the fact that it was not overcooked or undercooked! Smashed potatoes. Delicious! I loved little chunks with some skin on it because it means it's real! Moving along. Swai fish and baked ziti were great. Fried ravioli was okay. The star of this Italian fiesta was the Stuffed shells! Oh, so good! Great server. Took away my plates promptly, asked for beverage refills, how the food was, etc. How does this buffet compare to others? This casino is pretty close to home so I dont have to drive far for a little entertainment. For your first visit, you can spin the wheel and get up to a $1000 to play. Caveat is it doesn't apply to blackjack table however it is still fun to spend money that isn't your own. Bring a friend and get $10 free play and a free Buffett. If it's your birthday, you can earn up to 20 points and then spin the wheel on the day of your birthday. The payout on the machines isn't the greatest. I enjoyed the blackjack table. There isn't a live dealer so you play a virtual machine. Tables start at $5 and some tables start at $10. My favorite slot machine is the money roll. You win often in small quantities. Hungry and need a bite to eat, go to Lucky's in the back and try their garlic potatoes. It is amazing. Very tasty and there is a seating area as well as desserts. The staff told me as a member you get free play based on how much you play/spend. Well they also said their website is down. Someone told me the site has forever been done. They also cannot tell you over the phone how much free play you have. Well that would mean you probably wouldn't go in if you don't have free play. I haven't won there except for once few hundreds but after losing a lot. It's quieter than the other casinos and some may enjoy that but I don't usually see much winnings there around me. read more

I'm not a huge gambler, but I love Jai Alai and they just recently started playing at Calder. For those that ever went to Miami Jai Alai in its heyday, this is a far cry from the huge fronton. It's smallish. I guesstimate about 100 seats. Wagering is a real gamble because it's fairly empty, so you really won't win much. Hopefully that will change and more people will attend. I love the game though, so I will continue going. The casino part is clean and completely smoke free. They have tons of penny slots. The staff at the players club is really friendly and helpful. Sign up for the club and you get to spin for free play. Don't expect to get more than $15. They have a couple of free soda fountains which is nice. Their buffet is pretty good and well priced. Especially if you have a discount or a freebie from the players club. Lucky's is also good. I have not experienced discourteous staff or security. On the contrary, everyone that I've come in contact with has been friendly & polite. read more

Let me just get to the point. They know their machines are out of order they will still let you play on it like they're working just fine. Then when you try to win something and you haven't trouble pressing the screen you call a technician and they tell you (the touchscreen was never on and that the machine predetermined what you're gonna win.) You know when the jackpot comes down like if you play the dragon game. The jackpot comes down you have a chance to pick whatever Box YOU WANT to pick, so you can get a chance to win the Mega the grand prize or whatever. The screen was frozen no wait not on so the computer actually picked it, do you think the computer is gonna give you what you deserve no it's going to give you the lowest one. So Crystal the Slot supervisor I don't know something like that, Going to tell us that the computer is predetermined what you're going to win, ok I get that. I wouldn't have been upset if I was the one picking the boxes that I wanted, no the computer picked for me because the screen wasn't on. People put a lot of money in just so they can play the jackpot, that's what they look forward to doing pressing the screen to pick what they want. When you sit there for a long time waiting for the jackpot to come down and you are not able to press the screen it's very disappointing. All I really wanted was a $25 dollar voucher to play back in their machine's I didn't really want my money back. But no she only offered me a lousy $10 dollars after all that money I put in that machine waiting for the dragon to drop for the jackpot. I will never return back to that place and I will tell other people to go to the other casinos. read more

This place is VERY well-managed. Everything is clean; the machines are new and working well (unlike Miami Casino and Miccosukee); the little restaurant has excellent comfort food (the burgers are delicious!); and they seem to have a handle on security (again, unlike Miami Casino and Miccosukee, where I've seen fights, drug deals, and just general lowlife mayhem go down). read more

I like Calder casino because they have so many penny slots. They really have something for everyone. I would say at least 75% of the slot machines are penny slots. These are my favorite kind of slots because they really do turn into big payouts if you are lucky. I have eaten at the buffet here before and was not impressed so I have not been back since. I was pleased with the staff at the Players Club. They were professional and upbeat. I will definitely come back to this casino in the future. read more

Went Wednesday to recieve my 4th free play spin the wheel I have been going every week and get a reminder email that my 1 spin is waiting. Parking is plentiful but if you're feeling fancy you can valet for $5 and express valet for $10. When to you enter the security personnel are welcoming and barely card anyone. ( I guess the people in my party look old lol) I don't particularly like the slots but I used a $59 dollar free play to win a few dollars so that I could play what I really wanted. BLACKJACK. Keep in mind that the table is electronic and does not have a live dealer. It was fine with me because .. Wow I won like five times ! When you sign up they give you free plays! If you bring someone they give you ten dollars toward If it's your birthday you get mega discounts and opportunities for more free stuff ! Definitely worth the drive ! I went to Calder Casino for there annual Mother's Day Brunch it was price perfect at 29.99 plus taxes. The food was scrumptious. They had an omelette station, hot and cold bar, grill to order steak, fish and chicken. A variety of ice cold sodas, bottomless Mimosas , Blood Marty's and Sangria. And add plus all the mothers a precious single roses and a special note. I really enjoyed the Brunch. I was excited when my phone went dead and they had a free charging station located inside of the casino. The only reason I didn't give them five stars, is on a busy Mother's Day they only had two Valet drivers. Maybe Calder should have more Valet drivers on hand during the Holidays. read more

This casino is stuck in time. Nothing here changes. There is zero ambiance. Went tonight, after not going for a while, and it felt more like a funeral home than a casino. Everyone seemed frustrated and bored. Back in the day it was a pleasant experience. Then they went through the shakeup where they fired all the hosts and then it went to shit. This is my go to Casino! No smoke. Parking and security all over. The employees are awesome. Bartender Sal is great! The floor waitresses/coffee ladies, Lorna and Sherry are very nice and always strike up a conversation. Lots of machines in a great floor layout! Food always available. They have complimentary soda machines. Also I like that it's clean and bright. I don't know how pay outs are determined but I hit here more than I ever have at Hard Rock or Gulfstream. As for clientele, there are always a few not so nice people in every casino but overall, everyone I interact with are nice people looking to win and have fun while doing so! I mostly play the 5 cent video poker or a couple other floor slots that are more low end but plentiful. No worries, they have a High Roller area too. Typical Indian casino. The casino is large with plenty of tables. There are a lot of 25 min Black Jack tables to play anytime. The smoke was off the chart. Vegas casinos seems to have better air filtration systems. Dealers were nice, not snobby like higher end casinos. We played with 5 or 6 dealers and all were consistent. No free drinks for players. On your first visit you spin a wheel and can win up to $1000 in free play. And you get $10 for bringing a new guest. They have self serve complementary soft drinks. They have a buffet and a cafe to get something to eat. The staff are friendly. They dont allow smoking but they do have an out door section where you can smoke. I haven't really won big and I come at night and usually on the weekend this time I said I will go during the week and in the day time the machines were playing out. I have never been inside the actual stadium structure, only the area surrounding the building, just to be clear. But it is a truly impressive piece of real estate. The bathrooms are great, there are water stations at every corner, medics always in sight, and as a regular festival-goer, there is not really much else I can ask for that Rolling Loud at Hard Rock Stadium does not already provide. The times I have had here have been unbelieveabely amazing and high in energy. The place is quite vast and it can be easy to get confused directionally, so a map is essential. The only notably bothersome thing is the process of getting to-and-from the stadium. There are no public transportation options that take you anywhere near the stadium grounds, as Miami Gardens is located more inland from the coast in a random section of town. Getting to the area via taxi includes to-be-expected traffic and at least $20 in your pocket if you're coming from the east. But getting home is a complete nightmare. Your only options are Uber, Lyft, or a taxi that will charge you $200 to take you 15 miles to Dania Beach. Every night of the festival, when 12 a.m. hit and everyone would rush to get out and call their Ubers, the Uber and Lyft apps were successful in getting absolutely nobody home. For hours it would be like this. The apps didn't work because of so many people using them all at once. On one of the nights I was in attendance, the show ended and my friend and I walked over 3 miles away (hoping our odds of finding a ride would increase the further away we were from the place) from the stadium on 2-foot wide sidewalks past 12 at night, searching high and low for a taxi sitting stationary in the surrounding neighborhood traffic that would be willing to take us to our hotel in Hollywood Beach for a price lower than $180. Once we were in the car, it was standstill traffic for miles until we got home. All of the taxis we came across before this either already had passengers in the car or were simply unwilling to take anybody at all unless we would pay an absurd amount of money. There isn't much advice I can give regarding this issue, because unless you are okay with leaving the event you paid for early in order to beat the congestion, there's not a lot you can do except hope you win the rideshare lottery for the night. Expect to pay a pretty penny and have your patience tested, while also carrying home some amazing memories.

Maybe the weirdest part of this hotel is the breakfast situation. The breakfast room is on the top floor, which looks like a super old Victorian hotel that completely clashes with the rest of the theme. There was no protein offered. So, you got yogurt, pancakes, coffee or toast. No eggs, bacon, sausage or anything like that. It was really bizarre. At least the view was cool being the topmost floor, but don't count on having a great morning meal there. I found that there were other odd things with this hotel. I can't tell if this was an old hotel that was taken over and they "redecorated" or if it's a new hotel where they couldn't quite decide between really making it nice or cutting costs with the decorations and furniture and stuff. Because everything seemed to be odds and ends that didn't really match, which is why it's a weird attempt at a sports theme in summation. Overall I think the hotel is fairly nice. If you can get it for a cheaper price it's not in a terrible location either- Hollywood area so just 25ish minutes north of central Miami. And you can experience the weird vibes for yourself!
