It was a really nice hotel, making me want to stay at other 'Centric' branded hotels in the future. Completed in 2020, the tower stands as the tallest building in Fort Lauderdale, and was the first new hotel built in Las Olas (a famous 2.5 mile dining and shopping district in Fort Lauderdale) in 70 years. It consists of 15 floors with 238 rooms (with higher floors being private apartments) with a full bar and restaurant on the ground floor. The main entrance faces the city park across the street and a small roundabout driveway is where one would get picked up and dropped off. It has 3 large working elevators (requiring room key tap to access certain floors), and we never had to wait long when needing to use them. Hyatt Centric Las Olas is a Category 4 in the World of Hyatt loyalty program, requiring anywhere from 12k to 18k points for a one night stay. I was able to use 12,000 points for this Friday night stay, which also bypasses the $30 per night destination fee. We didn't need parking (normally $45 per night) for this stay. We checked in after the normal check-in time of 4 pm, and was given a nice room on the 15 floor. Everything in the room worked well, including the air-conditioning (modern digital thermostat with Central AC) and cable-equipped TV, and free wifi (needed room and last name to login). The two queen beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was modern with a walk in shower (OK water pressure). Two robes were provided without asking, and the towels were some of the thickest I've used at any hotel. There was a small coffee stand with a Keurig machine and a small dorm-size refrigerator. The large outdoor rooftop pool (which we had a good birds eye view of from our room window) is on the 8th floor, and has a pool bar. There is a modern, large fitness center on the same floor, along with conference rooms (which was hosting some sort of small convention during our stay). I did take a walk around the area during dusk, and the mosquitos made it difficult to enjoy during this time. Other amenities included complementary bike rentals, and being a passenger in a Tesla house car, which will drop you off anywhere in a 2 mile radius. There is also a small speakeasy (Room 901) that we didn't have a chance to stop-by. The hotel is very close to easy access to the RiverWalk on the New River, so definitely a lot to do and see if staying for more than one night. One of the ongoing promos that Hyatt runs, is a 'Brand Explorer' program that offers a free stay for every 5 new brands that one stays at. This initial stay at a 'Centric' will make it 6 distinct ones ('The Unbound Collection', 'Hyatt Regency', 'Hyatt', 'Hyatt Place', 'Hyatt House' being the others). We started with drinks, I got the Campari Spritz which came in a huge glass and tasted perfect. We ordered food and I tried the veal meatballs on a bed of polenta and they also tasted perfect; juicy and flavorful!! Our server checked in on us regularly and it was a great experience!! I would highly recommend checking out this place, especially during happy hour. It is a great spot to enjoy the Florida sun while dining and feeling like you are on the water.

We love the property, but one of the greatest reasons we return again and again is Iris, Front Desk Director. She is extraordinary. This visit says it all. Torrential rain unexpectedly changed our plans, my hair salon closed, and instead of heading to Miami as planned, we needed to extend our stay. Iris handled everything like a BOSS. She seamlessly extended our stay, made sure we were comfortable, and--as always--anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask. Today, we finally headed to the airport to fly home. Flight cancelled. So, luggage in hand, back to the Shorebreak we came. And there was Iris--welcoming us home. After five years, that is exactly what Shorebreak has become: our home away from home. Beautiful hotels are easy to find. Exceptional hospitality is not. Iris is warm, professional, attentive, resourceful, gracious, and genuinely cares about her guests. She remembers us, knows us, and somehow makes a hotel feel incredibly personal. That kind of hospitality creates loyalty. Iris is a tremendous reason we've returned year after year. Le Méridien - Overnight Stay Review…read more I stayed overnight at Le Méridien. I had requested an early check-in and, as a Titanium Elite member, I was hoping to be accommodated by around noon. Unfortunately, my room was not ready until 1:30 PM, which was a bit disappointing. The room itself was very nice, clean, and comfortable. We dined at the café in the evening and ordered the braised beef and pizza--both were excellent. Breakfast was definitely the highlight of my stay, with great quality and selection. One downside was the internet, which was not very reliable during my stay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but improved check-in timing and better Wi-Fi would make it even better.

One day before the reservation, September 25, Florida received official declaration of Hurricane Helene. My White Coat Ceremony in Ft Lauderdale was also cancelled due to the hurricane. I called and spoke with Allie and asked if the hotel was allowing cancellations in regards to the hurricane. Allie said "No. The cancellation window has passed and the hurricane is not likely to affect their hotel location. Other guests have already called the hotel about their flights being affected, so you are not the first person." A few hours after the phone call, Ft Lauderdale mandated that schools were closed Sep 26 and 27, the city is now under a tropical storm watch and tornado, with expected hurricane and possible closing of beaches. Please help me understand the lack of consideration for the safety of their guests and employees. Allie went on to tell me the only option she can offer is to move the reservation to a future date but that would make the reservation non-refundable and that she can only move the date one time. My response to this: the reservation is already non-refundable so really you are only giving me a date change. But how can I give you a date when I do not know what the conditions will be after the hurricane and you require that I give you the new date right now. I decided to go forward with the reservation when Tampa received mandatory evacuation. When we arrived at 3pm, it was torrential downpour at the hotel and their amenities were closed: no beach chairs, no towel service, signs in our room telling us to keep the patio doors closed. The city had patrol cars on the beach telling people to get out of the water. So again, tell me are these safe conditions for a beachfront hotel and should the hotel have responded better to the situation by allowing guests more flexibility to move their reservation dates? Allie even told me that the hotel is offering no resort fees this week "to sell out rooms for the season". It gives the impression of profit focused. Unacceptable, considering their actions during Hurricane Helene. I have received much better customer service from other hotels in the past during situations like this where they have gone above and beyond to move reservations including giving a full refund past the cancellation window!

It's a pretty good one bedroom too. There's pictures attached, take a look. It's very clean. It's very organized, i've registered online through verbo, and i've registration was there. I only had to put down a hundred dollars security on my card, and it'll be a return within three days. Everything is in there. They give you two keys. There's a barbecue area. There's a pooled area. Haven't checked that out yet. It's right on the beach. You come to the beach side of the property and smack. There is beach in sand and nature, and it is really pretty. And on the other side is the inner coastal, so you can see the sunrise. And the sunset, depending and then how you want to work your day and it's just a beautiful property, it's very clean. So far, i've heard people say different things about it through the different reviews. I haven't seen anything. The water pressure is great. The hot water is wonderful. My shower at home is crappy. So having a good shower is a big deal. It's either that or a really good tub for me. And the shower's really good for I recommend it. Please check it out

Michelle continues to exude professionalism and phenomenal service. Our experience tree was excellent with the best staff you can ever experience in any resort. From bell men Eian and Sergio to exceptional servers Elizabeth and Manny and the amazing Bartender Tim which go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied and happy. The food was incredible and just the beautiful oasis they've created is something special. The music bands were absolutely incredible in the restaurant and also on the boardwalk. Luggage storage is unattended in the open. Check in was 30 people deep. Only 2 staff members working, and one was having long, intimate conversations with customers. No sense of urgency. When we were told our room was going to be ready an hour late, we weren't provided any compensation, vouchers, or discounts. They wouldn't even extend my checkout despite check in being late! Breakfast was a disaster. Children running around everywhere (like they do the whole hotel), long lines, and no service. Food wasn't fresh. Seats were stained with chocolate. Dirty everywhere! Adult pool was a mess. Towels stained yellow and black. Attendant had the audacity to setup our chairs with them despite seeing how unwashed they were. Poolside drinks were $23 a piece and bartender literally gave me a 1/2oz pour for a piña colada. For the $23 I paid I would've expected an over pour! Children screaming, lack of customer service, and poor overall cleanliness makes this JW property feel like a Hampton Inn! Why should I pay $1k a night when I'm treated like I'm unwanted here? I wouldn't even stay here if this stay was 100% comped. Huge disappointment for a JW property and a loyal Titanium Elite member. My loyalty will be renounced as of today.

On arrival our towels were shaped like swans. Now the bad and reason I wouldn't return. There was never anyone in the office - we tried many different times during our stay. On arrival, the parking spot assigned to us was taken. Tried office door, phone message, text message, emergency number. There is a sign posted threatening towing at owners expense so we were worried when no one got back to us. They finally texted after 4 hours and told us they made an error and we could use a different spot. There was one outlet box in our room that didn't work. We texted and called about it for two days and they never replied. Right before we left, the toilet didn't flush- thankfully this didn't happen during our stay! I let them know that I was disappointed after we left in a text and their only response was that they didn't get back to us because one day was Easter and they were in church. They were still open and should have had some type of backup. Bad customer service is a big deal to me so we will not return.
