We are not a family that typically goes to the same places . Having said that the Diplomat has become an annual trip for us these past few years . It's a great hotel that just does not disappoint. Amazing beach and pool , beautiful rooms and fantastic caring staff . This year we took our 5 year old Grandson . We all had a blast ! Big shout out to Jessica at the kids camp for her kind way and attention she gave to Eli . My wife also wanted me to mention Audry the bartender who she enjoyed interacting with during our stay . The past couple of years we have close family friends visit us poolside for the day . She turned to me this year and said " you know the staff here is really great " . Someone had taken the time to find her whole milk for her baby which was very appreciated! I am so not one to go to the same places . However annual trip to the Diplomat has become an exception. This was one of our first times staying at a Hilton resort, and unfortunately, we left disappointed. We booked a suite, but upon arrival both TVs were broken, the air conditioning never got very cold, and one of the lamp cords had been cut, making it unusable. For the price of the room, we expected everything to be in working order. The pool area was nice, but it was so overcrowded that it wasn't very relaxing. The beach was also a major disappointment. There was a massive amount of algae, and the smell made it unpleasant to spend much time there. The one highlight of our stay was the hotel bar--the food was excellent, and the staff there were great. Overall, this experience did not meet our expectations for a Hilton resort, and unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here. read more

Because I can't give 0 stars. The one star goes to a few employees who actually did their jobs. The valet attendant who took my car at check-in was great. The front desk clerk who checked me in was pleasant. The woman in the bakery was friendly and helpful and was able to make me a decaf coffee. Those were the highlights of my stay. The rest was a disappointment. I specifically requested a room away from the elevators. I was assigned the room closest to the elevators. The hotel was sold out, so I let it go. The bellman was not friendly, not helpful, and explained nothing. No overview of the resort, no explanation of the restaurants, no information about amenities, and not even directions from my room to the convention floor. I spoke to the front desk twice, in person, regarding a housekeeping issue because I could not find the shampoo. Both times I was told housekeeping would come to the room. Housekeeping never showed up. It turns out the shampoo was there, hidden among multiple shower and bath compartments. A simple explanation would have solved the problem in seconds. Wednesday evening I went to the restaurant/bar. I was told to sit anywhere and someone would be right with me. Twenty minutes later I had not been acknowledged by a single employee. I left hungry. Still looking for food, I stopped at the grab-and-go food shop. Nothing was marked and there were no prices posted. I was not about to play Russian roulette with the POS system just to find out what things cost, so I walked out without buying anything. I then asked the bell staff about room service. I was given a card with a QR code and told to use that. When I got back to my room, the QR code was expired and unusable. I called the front desk and explained the problem. Instead of connecting me to room service, I was told to use the tablet on the nightstand. The tablet was visibly dirty. There was also no room service option anywhere on the tablet's menu. At that point I had received incorrect information from the bell staff and incorrect information from the front desk and still had no way to order food. So much for dinner. Later that evening I decided to watch Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The television wasn't working. I went downstairs and asked whether the hotel was having issues. I was told that rain interferes with the television system. This is South Florida. Rain is not exactly a rare event. Thursday was better only because I managed to avoid most hotel staff while attending my conference. For dinner I went to the poolside restaurant. Service was slow and inattentive. The food runner repeatedly delivered meals to the wrong tables, including mine. Watching him wander from table to table trying to determine where food belonged became part of the dining experience. I ordered a hamburger. It arrived overcooked, dry, somehow greasy, with wilted lettuce, sparse tomato, and barely enough sauce to know it was supposed to be there. It looked exactly like it tasted. Had I believed the kitchen would send back something better, I would have returned it. After dinner I returned to my room. No rain. Still no television. At that point I stopped bothering. What surprised me most was not any one problem. Every hotel has occasional mistakes. What surprised me was how many departments managed to fail at the same time. Bell staff. Housekeeping. Front desk. Food and beverage. In-room technology. Different departments. Same result. Poor communication. Poor follow-through. Little sense of urgency. Very little concern for the guest experience. The people themselves may be perfectly nice. The operation is not. This property does not have an employee problem. It has a training and management problem. None of these were complicated issues. Most were routine guest requests that should have been easy to solve. Instead, every interaction seemed to create another problem. I spent two days counting the hours until I could leave. read more

We just arrived at The Diplomat Beach Resort and unfortunately, this has not been the experience we expected, especially as returning guests. Prior to arrival, we confirmed through Hilton chat that our room would be oceanfront. At check-in, we again confirmed oceanfront, specifically facing east toward the ocean. What we were given is a north-facing room that is clearly not oceanfront. The response from the front desk was a simple "we apologize for the inconvenience," with no meaningful attempt to correct the issue. We understand the property is currently going through a rebranding, and it shows. The communication feels inconsistent, and it would not be surprising if some of the staff are temporary or not fully trained yet. To make matters worse, the shower in our room does not drain properly. SHOCKER We've stayed here before and specifically chose to come back because of that experience, which makes this even more disappointing. At this point, we're hoping the pool and beach experience can turn things around, because right now this stay is falling far below expectations. We're giving it another day, but if things don't improve quickly, this will end up being a very underwhelming return visit. Update: It somehow got worse. We went to dinner at Playa at The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood and sat for about 25 minutes before anyone even took our order. After that, we waited over 50 minutes with no food, no updates, nothing. A manager eventually came over and asked what we were waiting on, only to realize our order had never even been entered by the server. Meanwhile, tables around us that were seated after us had already been served, which is when we realized something was clearly wrong. To their credit, they comped the meal, but the overall response felt indifferent and unbothered. That seems to be the consistent theme here, a lack of urgency, ownership, or care. At this point, this doesn't feel like an isolated issue, it feels like a systemic breakdown in service. Between the room issues and now this experience, it's hard to ignore the direction things seem to be heading. We've stayed here before and had a completely different experience, which makes this even more surprising. If this is the new standard during the rebranding, there are some serious operational gaps that need to be addressed quickly. read more

I checked into the Diplomat Hotel for a work trip and wanted to share my first-night experience. The lobby looked nice upon arrival, though I came in at night and the lighting felt really dark and dim--not sure if that was intentional, but it gave off a strange vibe. Check-in was fairly smooth. They didn't have my Hilton Honors info on file, but the front desk staff asked about it and were able to add it then and there, which I appreciated. When I got to my room on the 25th floor, I noticed there was no soap at the bathroom sink--just in the shower. I tried calling the front desk to request some, but it was almost impossible to reach anyone. I ended up having to go all the way back down to the lobby. The woman at the desk told me it would take 25-30 minutes to bring soap up because there was only one person working in housekeeping. For a hotel this size, that seems pretty insane. That alone made a bad impression. On top of that, my room had this strange wire chair with no cushion--super uncomfortable and made no sense for a hotel room. And the toilet kept making this draining/refilling noise constantly, which was annoying to deal with when I was trying to get some sleep. The main, but few, frustrating issues were mostly related to slow service and lack of attention to detail. For my remaining two nights, things were neutral---not overly fantastic, but no other nuisances to worry about. The points I got from this stay were a nice, hefty amount, so I won't complain too much! read more

I honestly wish I could give more than five stars to this hotel. I booked this stay as a surprise birthday trip for my husband, choosing it based on the thousands of glowing five-star reviews and I can truly say it exceeded even my highest expectations. From the moment we checked in, we were welcomed so warmly. Jamel was incredibly helpful and accommodating, allowing us to check in early due to the Vegas time difference. We were exhausted, and that small act of kindness made such a big difference. Our room... just WOW. The balcony view was absolutely breathtaking. The pool, amenities, and overall ambiance were all top-notch. Every single staff member we encountered was welcoming and attentive. And yes! it's family-friendly (dog included ) too! That's exactly why we're already looking forward to coming back with our kids(plus Willow), because we know they'll truly enjoy it just as much as we did. Mado also kindly allowed us a late checkout for a small fee, which made my husband's birthday even more special--no early alarms on his special day! I highly recommend this place. The Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood Beach is undeniably stunning -- beautiful architecture, great views, and a variety of on-site restaurants that we enjoyed throughout our stay. However, our overall experience was mixed due to multiple service-related issues that shouldn't occur at a resort of this caliber. Upon arrival at 12:30 PM after a flight, we were told our room would be ready by 4 PM and that we'd receive a text. At 4:30 PM, we still hadn't heard anything, so I called -- only to find out we'd been mistakenly assigned a double bed room instead of the king we had booked. Fortunately, the agent corrected it quickly, but this shouldn't have required follow-up. I also requested a digital key, which was advertised, but was told we had to go to the front desk for a physical one. Housekeeping was the most disappointing aspect. After our room was cleaned one day, they removed extra clean towels we hadn't used and left us with only 1 washcloth, 1 hand towel, no bath mat, and only decaf espresso pods. We had received little chocolates on the first night, but never again, despite requesting them. We asked the housekeeper on our floor directly to replenish the towels and coffee, but she never followed through. We then asked the front desk -- and were told to "just ask housekeeping." We even texted the number that had reached out to us upon arrival, and only received coffee pods (again, decaf). Another concern was cleanliness and maintenance: the ice machine on the 26th floor was marked as needing service by 12/2023 -- and as of our stay in mid-2025, it still hadn't been addressed. That's well past due and raises serious hygiene concerns, especially the potential for mold or bacteria buildup in a humid climate. We had also originally chosen the Diplomat after calling to confirm that they clear sargassum (seaweed) from the beach -- unlike a different hotel we canceled for that reason. Unfortunately, they did not clear the beach once during our stay, which felt misleading and disappointing. Also, the website states that you can have breakfast at either Point Royal or Counter Point, but at check-in we were told it was only Point Royal. If policies have changed, the website needs to reflect that. That said, restaurant service throughout the property was generally good, and once we were in the correct room, we really did enjoy it -- clean, spacious, and comfortable. There is potential here, but service consistency, better communication, and attention to cleanliness standards are sorely needed to justify the resort's high-end image and pricing. read more

I stayed here for two nights for a work event and honestly had a great experience here overall. Right off the bat, the staff was outstanding! Everyone was extremely warm, attentive, and made me feel taken care of. The resort itself was beautiful and accommodating. My room was clean and comfortable, despite a broken outlet on one side of the bed but not a big deal since there were plenty of other working outlets, and the ocean view from the balcony was breathtaking. I really could've sat out there for hours. The pool was lovely with plenty of friendly service and while the fitness center was small (as expected for any resort), it was very clean and had a decent variety of equipment. Unfortunately, I'm giving four stars instead of five because the food didn't quite meet the standard. I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and the food was sadly consistently dry and bland, which was surprising given the quality of everything else. Hopefully there will be improvements in the dining experience, I think it would truly elevate the overall stay. read more

High recommend against staying here. The "highlight" of the stay was a false fire alarm at 2AM going off for an hour. No announcements made, and the front desk did not answer the phone so I got my kid out of bed at 2AM to walk down 17 flights of stairs. When I get down there, they just say "oh it's a malfunction just go back to bed". That's on top of exorbitant fees- $50 resort fee gets you a pool chair- which were all taken- and a beach chair. But if you want an umbrella, that's another $50. $25 drinks, $60 parking. Oh and half of the pool was closed for maintenance which they conveniently forget to mention. Stay elsewhere- I would have had a better night's sleep at Motel 6. read more

Wow, what a phenomenally awful stay! So, for clarity, I must admit that I did not pay for my stay. It was paid for by my employer to attend a conference here. This is the 3rd time I've been here but the first time I've stayed in the hotel. Let's start with my arrival...I came to the 28th floor and felt like a rockstar! I entered the room and used the restroom straightaway. To my dismay, the toilet did not stop draining. I messed with the lever, but to no avail. I gave up, as it was late and decided to sleep. I noticed the previous tenant left their neck pillow - gross! and of course the maid didn't remove it. Surprise! - I win a free neck pillow... The toilet drained alllllll night long. Yes I could have called the front desk to have them send an "engineer" but who wants to allow that to happen in the middle of the night... Instead, I turned on some ambient noise from my phone. The next day it appeared to stop with the constant draining. Though that was short-lived. The same thing happened that night. Try though I may, I could not fix the issue. Once again I'm confronted with the option to have someone come fix it in the middle of the night...nope, I'll deploy the same ambient tones to drown the sound out. I'm resilient and it's not my money so I suck it up and fall asleep. My last night, I arrive at the room after a long day of meetings. There is no issue. I'm thankful that it stopped. I'm also starving so it's time to place an order for room service. I try calling on the phone with the button that is clearly marked for room service ordering....its busy...I try again...and again......and again. Then I give up and dial the front desk. They inform me that although the phone shows I can be connected to in-room dining, that is incorrect. They direct me to use the in room iPad for ordering... Guess what...that didn't work either!! Now I'm hungry, angry and without a solution, I have several back and forths on their chat feature online. The person I'm speaking to can clearly tell I'm upset, as I've stated it several times. No resolution occurred. This hotel could care less about its clients. I'm now going to bed hungry, angry and at an utter loss as to why my company paid more than $300 per night for me to stay here!!! I will be sure to tell anyone and everyone of these shortcomings in the future. The front desk laughed when I expressed concern. I will never stay here again! If you choose to stay, good luck to you! My family in the 1980's used to come to the resort style pool and relax. Tonight I came here with friends to try out a bar called "The Hotel Bar". The Diplomat Resort has been totally renovated since the 1980's. It is simply beautiful with an elegant lobby. The valet parking is $38 and no public parking lots in walking distance. However if you are going to carry a name so prestigious as "The Diplomat" please please I beg of you don't lie about the expectation of your food if it's not going to reflect on the price and the name. The corn was not street grill corn but canned corn. The mahi was certainly not freshly caught, instead, it was frozen with minimal effort from the chef! The only good thing was the beach, service by the staff, and alcohol. Please fix the bike in the front of the hotel. It's sad af to be riding the unmaintained‍Bikes throughout Hollywood, with your name on them....image how many have seen my thick juicy self on one of your bikes struggling only because of its condition...That's a Crime in advertising itself. They have service to the pool and beach which was amazing . The pool is lovely and huge the beach is private absolutely phenomenal. The advertising didn't match the actual room condition. Probably the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The place seems to over book and completely underdeliver on service. You pay over $700 a night to get treated like cattle. There are long waits for everything; breakfast líne of over 2 hrs, not enough chairs at the beach or pool, people vomiting on the pool area and never being cleaned by the hotel staff, over priced food and substandard quality, $80 parking fees with 25 min waits to get your vehicle, and to top it off, rude management. There are far better places to go stay for half the money. Worst $$$ ever spent at a hotel. read more

Do not stay here if you are looking for peace and quiet. One of the hotel pools is under construction which we were not informed about prior to our stay. Whether your at the pool or the beach the construction sounds are there. Overall the hotel is beautiful, location is perfect right on the beach. Staff at the bar were great. Overall food options are small and pretty pricey. What we did order was tasty tho. I would stay here again but definitely not until the construction is finished. read more

Liked that there was a mangrove tree and other plants growing right with in the bar area. Valet is incredibly expensive at $41 for the first hour and $10 each hour after. Came to the Diplomat Hotel for a conference and left with a deep respect for anyone who picked the perfect venue size. The conference spaces were just right -- Goldilocks would've signed off immediately. No treks across barren deserts to find your breakout room, no needing Google Maps to get to lunch. A+ logistics. Speaking of lunch -- catering was surprisingly great. I normally approach hotel food like I do mystery meat: with suspicion and low expectations. But this was actually delicious! Except for the desserts. Those poor, dry, crumbly afterthoughts. Hotel room? I had enough space to reenact the entire Sound of Music opening scene, twirls included. But housekeeping must've mistaken me for a minimalist or a forest creature who cleans up after itself. Two days -- no visit. Apparently housekeeping is a choose-your-own-adventure around here. And let's talk about that desk chair. I'm convinced it was designed by someone who has never sat in a chair. Or maybe someone going through a break-up. Great for posture if you're trying to become a question mark. But -- the staff? Fantastic. Grounds? Gorgeous. Vibe? Elevated. Would I come back? 100% yes. Just with my own dessert and a travel chair.
