I've been to the white star location twice now and have been pretty disappointed. I got a pitaya bowl on my first visit and it was incredibly icy with chunks of ice throughout. Today I got the acai bowl that has spinach and kale. It was made without kale and blended poorly- I had full spinach leaves throughout while I was eating. There was also SO MUCH granola. About a third of the bowl was filled with granola and there was plenty on top also. The bowl was also excessively sweet. It left me feeling a little nauseous and not like I had eaten something healthy. Overall...I wouldn't come back. read more

We got the Super Hero and Jazz Hands smoothies, and couldn't decide which was better! They let us sample as many items as we wanted first, and everything was fresh and delicious. Forget a Diet, let's talk about a lifestyle...As a Yelpie, I love food and I must admit most of it will not allow me to land on the cover of Healthy Living Magazine anytime soon. So, when I decided to shake up my eating habits just a tad bit, I was referred to The Big Squeezy. Walking in looking like a fish out of water, craving something fried, I can't recall if I told the cashier that I was new to this juice and healthy eating thing, or if she could tell. I remember her saying, "No worries, we have plenty of samples to try." Not only was I relieved, but I was uber excited to sample. I tried several different juices, but the Crazy Eight and Sweet Tart were my favorites. Luckily, I came during Happy Hour BO GO half off from 4-6 Monday-Friday. I chose Crazy Eight which includes pineapple, lemon, green apple, carrot, watermelon, orange, and sweet beet. Beets brought back memories of grade school and it wasn't pleasant-- until I tried it again. Yum. Besides Happy Hour, customers can buy-in to their membership and other luxe offers. I'll defiantly be back for more, especially Sweet Tart which was sold out. The cashier says they sell out early, so if you want to buy this goodie, come early. Needless to say, The Big Squeezy made my introduction to unpasteurized juices (not from Walmart and etc..) a good and healthy one. read more

I'm still not big into juicing, because flushing out toxins in your body is not a thing supported by any real science. However, it seems healthy for other purposes so I get the appeal. The service is great and the employee let us sample every juice and explained the benefits of each. The Sweet Tart was my favorite along with the almond milk. read more

Big squeezys really good, and they usually have the best smoothies and bowls but the last few times I've been going they've done my bowl wrong:( I get the baja bowl with no granola they gave me gronola and gave me a liquidy tiger bowl, no spinach! I am really upset cause they've done this multiple times, it's certain people that make this mistake but everyone should do the bowl correctly. :( I really think if the employees would listen better then my bowl would've turn out great! I also can't come often to big squeezy cause it's so expensive, evan the tiger bowl is $9 the Baja is $10 if they lowered the prices to $5 then I would be able to come 3 times a week in stead of once a week. :( read more

Yaaaas. My sister lives in BR and insisted we stop here, and I am glad we did. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the two young gals behind the counter were fantastic in explaining the thoughts and ingredients that go into making the juices here. They were so enthusiastic and very proud to let us sample all the juices and even the new oatmeal and soups they had. It's refreshing to see people who are so invested in and enthused about what they are selling. I ended up getting the seasonal pumpkin smoothie (literally the best thing I've had all season), which filled me up with healthy things but tasted quite like dessert. I got a Crazy Eights juice for later also. The prices are on the high side, but as Kelsey W. mentioned it kind of saves you the headache of buying/storing all the produce and cleaning/preparing the juicer yourself. I went in the Perkins Road location and I was expected to be greeted cheerfully , and just have an overall great experience. I was so excited to go after a long day . The girl who served me was not happy at all to answer questions about the smoothies , she answered everything I asked in one word answers and very nonchalantly. The Big Squeezy is great but I recommend more excited workers not young kids who role there eyes and waiting on the day to be over with . When people enter it should be a friendly , happy environment being that it's a healthy choice !!! Get better workers please! read more

My current faves are Geaux Bites, the Greeña Colada smoothie and Super Greens juice. The staff is always so great, they greet you as you walk in the door and have your order out to you pretty quickly. Others have mentioned the prices but the business has to pay for fresh produce, industrial juicers and employee wages so of course it's going cost more than if you were juicing at home. If you have a serious fresh juice habit you should probably invest in a juicer. Otherwise, as an occasional lunch or treat, $9 every now and then won't kill you or your budget. read more

My boyfriend and I walked in looking for a gift card donation for a cancer benefit. She didn't read the flyer, she turned her back to me and ignored me. I ended up getting the gift card only because she just wanted us to leave but the rudeness and attitude from the owner Liz was so offensive. She accused me of lying about the cancer benefit so I decided to give the gift card back. I did not want to encourage her business to make anymore money or give it any free advertisement. The drinks here may be good, although expensive but its not worth it when you have to deal with a terrible owner\ manager. Good luck on keeping your business running with an attitude like that. I've been a fan of this place since it opened. I've loved the juices for years. Only recently have I been having issues with my purchases. A month ago (6/23) I bought 4 almond mylks during the $5 mylk day. Within a day, after only drinking one, they all soured. I found out when I drank one almost halfway before realizing that it had expired already. Disgusting. I gave y'all the benefit of the doubt. Maybe y'all didn't realize that they were going to go bad in one day and blindly sold it to me? Well two days ago, on Friday, I went and bought a large glass deposit of chocolate almond mylk. I drank some that day and noticed it had a somewhat funky taste. I was out of the house yesterday and didn't drink much. Then today when I opened my fridge I noticed it was spoiled. IN TWO DAYS TIME. Then I looked at the date and noticed it said today's date. That's strange because almond mylk is supposed to last for at least seven days after being made. How long does this stuff just sit in your freezers before you sell it to people? I understand selling the product that was made first, first. But this is ridiculous. At some point, throw the product out and don't just sell it to people. This is the final straw for me. I'm done wasting my money here on overpriced juice and mylk that spoil way too quickly. Advice to others, just go get fresh squeezed juice from whole foods. It's cheaper, tastes better, and actually lasts for a full seven days before going bad. read more

If you are going to open a juice bar, promote CLEANSES, and include on your website, "We live in a junk food culture, and it is more important than ever to bring awareness to what we are putting into our bodies.", then I would expect ingredients in your products to run parallel with your mission. But they do not. As I watched the worker make my smoothie, I noticed her using "Jif" peanut butter as an ingredient. For those of you that are not aware, Jif peanut butter contains GMO derived ingredients, including added oils that contain trans fats. Mm, how cleansing. This makes me very upset for those that are trying to make a lifestyle change, as they may think they are eating clean, when in reality, they are receiving ingredients with GMO's and trans fats. Who knows what other ingredients they use. This Juice Bar has a long way to go if they ever want to be on the level of a California juice bar; which I am assuming was their goal, since they teamed up with a California-based entrepreneur. A little tip: if the goal of this juice bar is to provide the Baton Rouge area with nourishing foods for the body, try using nourishing, quality ingredients; not the cheapest. That's how you get to be as successful as a California juice bar. Once you do that, then I'll understand why your smoothie costs almost $10. Which by the way, isn't even as much as most ORGANIC juice bars in California, with way better tasting products. read more

I have been a regular at the Big Squeezy for over a year... I have probably consumed over 20 smoothie bowls and have loved everyone... until recently. The last time I went I was genuinely biting down on ice, the smoothie was not blended adequately in the slightest. Now, I am currently consuming the most disgusting and melted smoothie bowl I have ever attempted to eat. After ordering, I was handed my smoothie bowl in record speed, it was painfully obvious that the girl working did not make it fresh but had it sitting in the back behind the counter. When I sat down to eat it I found that it was the grossest mush ever and I wanted nothing more than to immediately throw it away. There was nothing frozen in it, only chopped fruit which had sunk to the bottom. I have been enraged by this experience and can for sure say it will be a long time before I visit another Big Squeezy.
