Quite a great little neighborhood shop. Lots of bikes to choose from and really awesome decor on the walls (vintage antiques everywhere, old bikes, old local artifacts, etc). The repair tech working fixed my derailer in about 1 minute the other day when I swung in to see if they could help. I had bought the bike there 2 months ago, so they just did it and didn't charge me which was really nice. Not saying expect free service! But am saying expect good quality service! read more

I was visiting from AZ to ride the hills in NH and MA. Hit a pothole while in MA which bent my rim. The mechanics at Bike Barn replaced my rim and readjusted my rear derailer that same day given I was from outta town and riding hills. Great service. Meh. My thoughts on this shop are not glowing. From the top, 2 stars cause they have the guts to have a brick and mortar presence which is why I shopped there. I was intentionally buying a bike for over $2000 from them instead of the internet specifically to help local business. Like they say, no good deed is unpunished. I regret spending money there and will not do that again. Short form of complaint: incorrect assembly of the bike and crap attitude on part of shop relating to a potentially unfixable defective new bike and what to do about it. Friendly, knowledgeable folks with a big inventory of new and used bikes and parts. I needed a back wheel, tire, cogs and rotor because mine was stolen. I dropped my bike off at 10:00 and it was done at 2:00, as promised. The bike rides and shifts better than before my wheel was stolen. I'll have to remember to thank the thieves, if I ever find them. If want friendly, honest, and knowledgeable people to help you pick out, repair, or kit out your bike; this is the place to go. These guys know their stuff and work hard to ensure everything is working correctly for you. Don't be fooled by the other shops that pretend to care or have super fancy $15k bikes in the window. Those shops just want your money. Bike Barn could have sold me on another bike but instead helped me get mine doing what i wanted instead. And thats why I totally trust them. Something like that says a lot about their character. Make sure you come here to get fitted for your bike and then make sure you BUY IT FROM THEM. Don't be that guy. Local businesses are a dying breed because people use them for the hard parts and then give their money to some nameless website. Don't do it. Support your local businesses. read more

I needed some bike boxes to ship some bikes in so called Bike Barn. They said they would put two aside for my son to pick up, I thanked them and they said "no problem". When my son went to pick them up he was told they were $5 per box, no such thing had been mentioned and my son relayed this. He was told that I 'got off the phone too fast'. Bike shops always give these away for free if they have them. They cost the shop nothing and they get recycled or thrown away anyway. Does Bike Barn charge the recycling people $5 a box? They are literally charging people for their trash. Will never go there again. read more

I went to the Bike Barn two months ago. I was visiting a friend in town, who let me borrow his bike. Apparently my friend never rides his bike, because the tires were flat and the chain was rusty. I took it down to the Bike Barn, and asked to borrow a pair of tire levers so I could take the wheel off and inspect whether I needed to buy a new tube. One of the workers there scoffed at me and said, "You can buy some levers!" I then pumped the tires, which appeared to be doing alright. I then wanted to grease the chain, but I could tell that the employee was unhappy with me asking about the levers, so this time I offered to pay just to use the chain lube one time. And then, the employee scoffed at me -again- and said, "You can buy a bottle of lube!" I've never experienced such rude behavior in a bike store before. I decided I'd rather ride around with a rusty chain than patronize that shop again. read more

Not real easy to find really - and the parking is a nightmare when college in session. Either way I parked and took the 5 min walk. I was looking for a replacement fat tire - they had one in stock a Specialized Ground Control (which I'm not a fan of) - $170 price I'm not a fan of either. I get it - fat tires are expensive but that's a bit much especially when its the only one you stock. I just ordered a different tire online for under $100. Overall - the shop had a kinda uptight feel. I tried to talk to one of the guys about the Specialized fat bike they had in front and he was throwing out all kinds of BS - "carbon is the way to go and it rides smoother than anything" - "I know guys that run these tires at 3-4 PSI" - blah blah blah. I've been riding bikes for 25+ years, worked in a shop many moons ago - I know sales BS when I hear it. Once he realized I was just grazing he pretty much walked away - no "thanks for coming in" or any kind of "see you later" type closing. I won't be back. There are other shops in town to take my money. read more

I asked if he knew who might carry Maxxis or Continental and he didn't offer a suggestion, must not know the other shops or not want to be helpful. Needed a tune up and a new front tube for my daughters bike. Was met at the front by one of the techs and he was very pleasant. Filled out the paperwork said it would be ready on Wednesday. Got a call that it was ready on Tuesday. Ask if I could pick it up on Saturday, no problem was the answer. On Saturday I had time to walk around the store, very nice again, very pleasant tech brought out the bike and it was $65. I would recommend the bike barn to anyone. Thanks read more

Went to Bike Barn to look at bicycles. Spoke to salesman Eli. He was very knowledgeable and showed me bikes that I wanted to buy not what they wanted to sell to me. When I found the bike I wanted, he got it ready for me and let me take it on a test ride before purchase. Bought a great bike at a great price. The also offer a free tune up with purchase and discount on all future purchases at their store. Overall it was a great experience and would recommend this store. read more

I spent a few weeks looking to upgrade my mountain bike by checking out some local shops and doing research online. I checked out shops in Manchester, Hooksett, and Concord and couldn't really decide. Most of the stores had vague pricing, limited selection, and underwhelming sales offers. The Bike Barn had exactly the kind of higher level hard-tail I was looking for at the best sale I could find. Eli and the team were very knowledgeable and straight-forward, there wasn't any sales pressure. After looking for a few weeks, it was great to find the best available bike at best sales price compared to anyone else. Just bought a new bike and car rack from the Bike Barn yesterday and I could not be happier! Eli is so nice and knowledgeable. I took my new bike on 2 test runs around the warehouse and the parking lot before I bought it, and Eli set up my bike rack on the back of my car for me, making sure to show me how it worked so I wouldn't have issues later. I have never had a better experience spending $500+ and will always shop there in the future. I only have a few suggestions: The website is really terrible, they could spend a couple hours making a dynamic site on Wix or Squarespace and it would be much improved. I have bought 3 bikes there, 2 for me, one for my son. The sales people are knowledgeable, attentive and able to help the inexpereinced thru the maze of products offered. The discount for after the sale is nice, as I returned after my fat bike purchase and bought a hitch rack with the discount. The inventory is good, although some items/bikes are hard to get but thats industry wide, not shop specific. They also gave me a very fair trade on a functional but 16 year old Schwin.Heading back there tonight for my post purchase, after the shake down, check up. At this point I can't see shopping at any other bike shop in Manchester. read more

There are definitely better bike shops around the area than this one. The hours aren't the best and the selection is meh. The prices paid for used are low and it isn't uncommon for stolen bikes to be sold there. read more

I brought in a vintage early 1970's Raleigh Supercourse, this bike needed a good tune and some minor work cog and derailleur, got it back the next day and it is as good today as was when it was new, the Bike Barn guys did a great job, even called me while it was up on stand to go over what the bike needed, as it turned out, not much at all just adjustments and a good tune at a reasonable price listed on the Bikebarn web site. read more

I can't say enough about The Bike Shop. When shopping for a bike for my husband, they were very knowledgeable and did not try to over sell me. My husband was thrilled with the quality of the bike and it's held up extremely well for a couple of years now. I recently brought it in for a spring tune up and to purchase a few accessories. THe customer service was still amazing. The price points for the bike, the service and accessories were all below local competitors. I would highly recommend the Bike Barn. The only minor issue is the parking. Although the Bike Barn has a couple of reserved spaces, they are frequently full if you visit midweek/midday. I would recommend a weekend visit for easier parking. Awesome business!!! read more

I have been a long time customer of the Bike Barn, along with my boyfriend and his family. We brought our bikes in for the annual Spring tune up. We have always been beyond thrilled with the personal service, and the quality of the work. NOT THIS YEAR. Somethings changed with them. We think they tuned up the bikes- charged us $65 each for the tune up (which was a major increase from last year's price.) Our bikes came back with the same grim on them, it appears they never touched the chains, cleaned or lubed it, this was all done last year. When we called to ask "what's up?" We were told they ran a rag over it and got rid of the "loose dirt." They then told me if I wanted a clean chain to - "buy a new one." I'm sorry to say, it's time to find a new bike shop. read more

Bought a Specialized Hardrock with v-brakes six days ago. Found that the sock fork was leaking a greasy tar like substance after trail riding. Knowing that this was only a $439 bike I went online for an upgrade since I already upgraded some components I felt were questionable (hand grips and 31" wide handle bars.) After looking online for several hours for a upgrade replacement for the 27.5" with v-brake forks and found none were available or only available to retailers I decided that I must change it out for the disc version for parts availability going forwards. Patrick was more than reasonable and charged me only $60 for the upgrade to the disc brake version of the same bike and $40 to change over all my upgraded components I bought and they put on. I give 5 thumbs up to Patrick. I bought hundreds of dollars of components for my folding commuter bike and have been more than pleased with their level of service from the first time I came into this establishment with a bike I didn't purchase there. These folks are very reasonable, honest and easy to deal with. My friend Tom is very impressed with them also. They fixed a twisted spoke rear wheel from a bike shop in Colorado even though they've never seen a twisted spoke wheel before. The 25 year old wheel came back from service as true as you could expect. I rode the bike and would rate it as "perfect." read more
