Inventory was low when intially made purchase because was before the rebrand to Trek, but same shop. The staff was knowlegable and courteous. Even installed my accesories on the bike and encoraged me to complete test ride plus did inspection post. The staff over here are so helpful and friendly. My boyfriend and I had a great experience working with Chris who helped us pick out a great bike for him, suited it up with a back rack, and chatted with us about any gear we would need for all our bike packing adventures to come! I'll definitely be bringing our bike's back here for regular tune ups as the mechanic that worked with us was very knowledgeable and explained anything I didn't understand. I don't post many reviews, but Goodale's has earned mine. Last year I splurged on an expensive bike, but there were some issues with a click in the crank. These things happen, even on the highest quality items. It is how Goodale's has responded to my issues that has earned the 5 star rating. Initially they corrected it with service. After a few rides, it came back. The process repeated a few times, and they began to warranty replace parts. While I wish the issue wouldn't have occurred in the first place, they have taken all the right steps. They are a great customer advocate for the brands they carry... I just don't want to take a chance buying elsewhere. read more

Went in to test out some bikes, after also visiting the Nashua store. Was helped by Pat who set up 3 different bikes for me to ride around and try out. He gave me some tips about riding newer bikes, since I was a little rusty. I also bent the chain on one of the test rides, and didn't make me feel bad about it. He spent a lot of time with me, answering questions, and discussing what my best options were, and overall, it was a really pleasant experience, and I didn't even buy anything. Yet. I called late in the spring season for a last minute tune and it has been a great experience. Mike (the mechanic) let me go in the back where they work on the bikes to explain what needed to be done. I have to say I have driven by this store a million times. Didn't think it was as big on the inside or as extensive as it ended up being. After needing a new chain for a mountain bike, stopped in here instead of going to Kmart, and glad I did. From the minute we walked in the door, everyone was unbelievably helpful. They took a look at the bike we had (it was in my car) and were able to tell me what chain I needed to replace it. They were just all around friendly, and I didn't find their prices too costly. For anything bike related I will definitely be back to this store. :) read more

My girlfriend and I went in to purchase bikes and we got ignored. So we took our $3000 worth of business to the bike barn. There was no excuse for us being ignored either . 3 employees on the floor doing nothing and when we approached them they suddenly became busy. I suggest the sales people there become more motivated. read more

I had an initial negative experience, but the Hooksett manager responded immediately. I eventually bought my bike at Nashua location. Huge. Bigger than Belmont Wheelworks in MA (plus no state tax). In Nashua, although it took a little time to get their attention, they were very good and thorough with service. They didn't try to BS you, didn't try to upsell you, didn't try to rush you. I pretty much knew what I wanted at that point, but they were still patient, and let me know worthwhile alternatives. I did see a family with a young teen get help, and they really spent time with the family getting the kid into the right bike. Since that time, I have been to the Hooksett location and bought a good number of accessories. Good service. Again, very attentive, giving me good insights, and making solid recommendations, I never have felt I have been getting "sold." Well, when you get a new bike and fall in love with your new sport (mountain bike), you don't need a lot of persuasion to buy some cool new stuff. Inevitably, I would recommend this shop. I purchase parts and garb from these guys now and again. I routinely participate in their Monday and Wednesday night group rides out of the Nashua shop. They're alright but their prices are high in comparison to the smaller shops. Their different locations have a lot of product in stock. My gripe with these guys is that they feel less personal and more "business-is-business". They're a large shop who seems to view you as another warm body through the door instead of someone they would like to shoot the breeze with. That being said, they're not bad, but in my personal opinion, I would seek out the smaller shops. The one thing that I do implore everyone to check out are their group rides. Big crowds and all different skill levels. Very enjoyable. read more

I took advantage of their evening hours. I know it must be a burden to stay so late, but I sure do appreciate it! I came in for a tube to fix my flat and a lot of questions about other repairs to my bike. I'm generally mechanically inclined, but so far I had never tried a bike repair needing more than a hex wrench. Zach met my service vs parts-tools question with curiosity about my interests and a lot of kindness/patience. I told him I'd like to learn how to do the repairs, but I wasn't sure of myself. I had only a basic idea of what needed to be done. He took the time to look at my bike and show me the parts and tools I would need to repack my bearings and get the squeaks out of my bike. He demonstrated several of the tools for me even partially disassembling my bike in the process for teaching. I appreciate that Zach took pains to justify each tool as if he was buying them himself. Zach's experienced advice including his youTube recommendation made my weekend repair job a big success! I was able to repack bearings, and replace cassette/chain. I plan to go back the next time I need parts and advice for my bike! read more

Brought my bike to Goodales for tune up and new tires prior to my vacation to PEI. There was nothing wrong with the tires that were on it, just wanted to put a hybrid tire on. I asked them to keep the original tires for me as they were only used for a 4 rides and were in perfect condition. It took me about 4 weeks to go back and pick up the bike. At that time they told me they threw my original tires away! The new tires were not properly inflated, and once they were, they were too large for the bike. Upon my return to Goodales with my sales slip, I met with the assistant manager who really didn't seem to care and he refunded me the cost of the tires and tubes. He never offered to refund me the labor and really could have cared less that my original tires were disposed of (they probably sold them or used them on someone else's bike). I live 2 minutes away from Goodales but have now brought all my business to the Bike Barn. The Bike Barn has very knowledgeable people who take the time to listen as well as educate each customer. Do yourself a favor, drive by Goodales and over to Bike Barn. You'll be happy you did! read more

After not being on a bike for over 15 years I visited a few bike shops and asked questions, one of them being Goodale's in Hooksett. I emailed Jason with questions and he got right back to me with answers. Not only was the service incredible but the education and knowledge of the staff. They genuinely want to help. I've never had a bad experience when I've gone in the shop. I never felt like I was being sold to at any point being in their shop. I bought an Ariel (hybrid) that Jason helped me get set up and started on a bike trainer (that I didn't purchase there). After a month of using the Ariel on the trainer and a couple of rides on the road I realized I wanted a road bike too. I have always had two bikes in the past. I went back to test drive the Dolce and got fit for it. They have been there as support if I have questions or concerns. If I email Jason with questions or concerns and he gets right back to me. I love the Ariel for indoor cycling, the trails by my house, and to ride with some of my friends who don't have road bikes. And I absolutely love the Dolce, although I'm still getting use to it, it brings me to a relaxing place. I can't thank them enough and I'm hoping to gain enough confidence to be able to go on a ride with them in the future :-) read more
