Then, he added a patch kit to the tube. At the time, I thought it would be just paying for the repair kit because he had Never Mentioned A Price. once he was done, he put the wheel back on for another 10 minutes wasting our time and refusing help when we offered it. Then, he walked up to the register and told us it was 35 DOLLARS for a single tube repair, KEEP IN MIND A new tube only costs about 5-10 dollars and is way easier to install. I tried a used foldable bike and it was ok, maybe, but reminding me of how uncomfortable biking has been for me, not liking a ten speed riding position, balancing, seat height, handle bars awkward to reach, all the things that make me prefer walking! It had 6 speeds but no way to switch the gears. So wanting to follow their enthusiasm and tweak the seat height and the handlebar position we chatted awhile about all kinds of fun things with music, and riding as new gear switches and cables and magic transformed this potential bike into a sweet ride. It felt like a different bike- smooth, easy, I actually said out loud, "I Love it, sold." I love that they're nearby and if the bike needs any adjusting I can bring it to them.
