Not bad if you don't mind disgusting accommodations and dishonest employees…read more We arrived on 06/18/2026 and Millie (at the front desk) was very nice when she checked me in. But after we saw the room and wanted a refund... not so nice. The photos show what this room was about (even though we didn't take that many photos). Stained/dirty bedding and shower curtain, and deteriorated blankets. It's too bad because the bed was very comfortable. When I asked Millie for a refund, she refused, so we went across the freeway to the Best Western Plus, where we've stayed before (and I kick myself for not going there first this time). After we checked in at the Best Western, Millie calls me (which showed up on my phone as a Joplin, Missouri phone number), and tells me that because the charge was through Expedia, I have to cancel the reservation through them and then she would reverse the charges. She said she would have told me that, but I left too quickly? That seemed hard to believe, and it proved untrue when, after I did cancel the reservations through Expedia, I thought I'd wait for the charges to be reversed on our credit card. After waiting 11 days and seeing no credit, I called the Millie at the Burlington, CO number and she said that because the reservation was not cancelled in advance, there won't be a refund. Why in the world would she tell me to cancel through Expedia if she never intended on refunding the money? All I can chalk it up to is dishonesty. I then tried to dispute the charges with my credit card company, but since I had signed the paperwork at Chaparral Motor Inn, all they had to do is show that to my credit card company and the dispute was halted. My advice (other than to steer clear of Chaparral Motor Inn) is to NOT use Expedia (or any other third party company), and to ask to view the room before signing anything. That may allow for a reversal of credit card charges, but it's not guaranteed.

Falsely advertised suites. Arrived Jan 4th 2pm checked in only to find a smelly dilapidated tiny…read moreroom. Other people left reviews od the same room, 219, smelling. The entire hotel is a loud hang out spot, the smell is overpowering like chemicals and mold. After getting to my room and seeing how small it is and how close to the elevator at was, I was going to TRY to make it work. However the TV wouldnt work they fiddled with it for a half hour, staff acted like it wasn't a big deal that the TV didn't work but if I couldnt have a suite with the extra space and quiet I needed the TV to work to keep my dog from barking at all the loud noises. They switched me to room #109 which was HORRIBLE! The smell of chemicals from the hall, and the smell of 5 men smoking their bqq meat directly outside the door with the front door to the hotel open, ws overpowering and even worse than the room on the 2nd floor. The floor was disgustingly sticky, the noise level was much louder, and I finally said this isnt right I need to go to a different hotel. I have video evidence I checked in just after Jan 4th @ 2pm, and checked out 3:05PM same day. I had to call and talk to the manager, Denise for a refund. She was belittling every single one of my complaints, acting like I was lying about the stench, and condescendingly said "you really thought you were getting a suite for $81"? I was absolutely shocked that a manager of a business behaved so unprofessional. She even said that I wasnt being honest about the length of time I stayed before I checked out. On the receipt I was sent the fraudulantly said I checked out Jan 5th, 2026 at 10:55AM. She was acting like I was trying to get a free stay, i was dumbfounded. I booked a SUITE because that is what ny needs required, and they didnt even apologize or try and make it right. Then they proceeded to be unprofessional. This type of business should be closed down, I will be reporting them and making sure everyone knows they are not a good place. Having zero accountability, not apologizing, being condescending, and calling me a liar yet i had proof to back uo my claims is all the most unnecessary thing to deal with when all you want to do is relax until you get back on the road. Spent 1 hour there, theyre refusing to refund me
