Came to the Biscuit Basket after being told Saucin' It Up Chicken was having kitchen problems. On a Saturday afternoon, this place was still poppin' and we ended up waiting an additional 20 min for a table. The inside is spacious with tall ceilings and huge industrial fans overhead. The room is split into two parts (I think they took over the business next door and converted it to more tables). With all this square footage, they really crammed a lot of tables together. I felt like some center tables were bumped right next to another. The SO and I ordered: - Millionaire bacon burger sub fries for onion rings - the burger was good, but the onion rings were top-tier. - Cobb salad - SO said there were some weird pieces of lettuce and he couldn't finish it all. - Side of biscuits w gravy - the biscuits were just... fine? Not fluffy, but a little buttery. I wasn't wowed by it. The gravy had a good peppery taste, but also wasn't my personal favorite. We were sat at a teeny tiny table where a condiment basket took up like 20% of the room. It definitely forced us to make some Tetris moves when our food and water were all on the table. Eventually, the SO knocked his water over and spilled it all over. Either get bigger tables or make the condiment basket smaller, can't have both. Service was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, the SO and I were good to try this once. If your onion rings stood out more than the biscuits, should probably change the name to the Onion Ring Basket (or Condiment Basket) :P

Friendly but busy service. Good food, could be improved. Biscuits were as good as expected. Salad was sad sad iceberg lettuce and dressing could be improved. Also prices were pretty high even for senior plates ($15.99- egg, toast/biscuit, meat). Cobb salad $18.99 (full) half $15.99- iceberg 99%, as mentioned above was largest disappointment. Bacon was pretty good, full slices were cut up. Coffee was excellent $3.99 - Clayton coffee. Very good body and no sour. Orange juice $8.99 L size. Pretty pricey and really too sweet- too much sugar. Home fries $5.99 for a side - or else I would have ordered it, looked very well made. Fruit $5.99 for a cup

We walked in and the place was full and the wait was 15 minutes. The hostess informed us no wait at the counter. The server was very friendly and attentive. She stated everything is made from scratch. We ordered our food and didn't wait long when our food was at the counter. First impressions the potatoes that they call "Home fries" were raw not cooked throughly. Maybe that's why our plates came out fast. Only 1 biscuit on the "Biscuit Plate" every where else I go to, you always get 2. And for the price of $16.99 seems a bit high for biscuits and gravy. The "Green Chilaquiles" wasn't as spicy as the server stated. It had good flavor and not spicy or a kick to it. We had their orange juice which is freshly squeezed, very good.

First time trying this place that I've heard coworkers have recommended me to try. Came here on a Saturday morning and the place was busy and had a 15 minute wait. We asked the waitress her recommendations and she suggests their biscuit (2 for $6.99) and green chilaquiles which is a Mexican style breakfast. So the biscuit- it was okay and there were a lot of jellies and jams provided. I usually get biscuits for free in other restaurants so I don't think it was worth paying for it. Nothing special. 3 stars The Green chilaquiles- we decided to share a plate, added avocado. Item was $17.99, $2.25 added for splitting a plate... and $2 for avocado. Not sure how I feel about adding a charge for sharing a plate. Breakfast was fine. I'd probably go for a traditional American breakfast in the future. So for me, it was a 3 star. Now that I've tried this place, I don't think I will be a regular customer since the wait isn't worth it for a local breakfast place.

3rd time coming here never disappoint. Brought my dad and he love it. He got steak and eggs with a side of pancakes. We got a basket of Biscuits yummy with butter and jelly. Not sure but the jelly tasted home made. Service is always friendly

First time ... love the set up, it's very spacious and it has counter sitting in the back. It was very busy , there were people waiting outside to get seated and there really wasn't much parking in the front . But that's how busy the area was. I had the fried steak , fries and scrambled eggs. It also came with a biscuit. The star on the plate was definitely the biscuit. I Will return just to eat biscuits next time! The gravy on the steak was good but I have had better steaks.

I loved it since I stepped foot inside. Not too loud and not dead quiet where it's awkward to have a full conversation over breakfast. The service was fast! Only waited 5 minutes for a booth and after ordering about 10 minutes for the food to come out. The cinnamon roll was yummy and the orange juice is so good! I ordered the chilaquiles and the house fries and the tri tip omelette and biscuits as well. Everything was delicious, will be coming her often to take my mom out to breakfast :)

Food a bit pricey, but service extremely good always someone asking if you need anything and coffee pouring never stops. Although I wish coffee would be more hot got mine lukewarm every single time. Space nice yet, too many tables those 2 seated tables too small can't fit much. Food- chicken friend steak very good as for chilaquiles disappointed the sauce cold which made them cold.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away--definitely recommend getting there early. We sat at the counter bar, were greeted again, and had our drink order taken promptly. The coffee was on point. I asked for a recommendation and went with the chicken fried steak breakfast, and the homestyle potatoes were delicious. Thank you, we'll definitely be driving from Fresno to visit again definitely 5 star place PS the locals were also very friendly and helpful in ordering food..!

This is the second time we've visited. Wait times are typically long, especially on a weekend but it's well worth it! Highly recommend trying the biscuits with whipped butter and homemade strawberry jam. Staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. I definitely need to come back to try their lunch items.

The Cowboy Benedict was a nice delicious surprise! Tri tip? Good. Biscuit? Good. Eggs? Goood. All the staff were polite, attentive, & on top of things. While being quite busy, we still got our food relatively quickly. Would definitely come back again.

Pictures speak for themselves. Top notch place, great food, definitely a treat for brunch!! Hard to find southern food in California and this was great! Note we are from California not the south so do what you will for that. Coffee refills on demand- what else is more perfect?

I have left wonderful reviews in the past for this place but I have to share my experience…read morerecently. My boyfriend and I have been to Standard Pub several times during the day, and every visit has been fantastic. We've enjoyed the food, drinks, and even had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on multiple occasions. The service was always welcoming, and the food was consistently phenomenal. Because of those great experiences, we decided to bring some friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and the atmosphere looked promising. There appeared to be a DJ setting up, and the crowd seemed excited for a night of music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience that evening was completely different from what we had come to expect. We ordered food and drinks, and while our server wasn't outright rude, he seemed uninterested in providing the level of service we had previously received. As the night went on, things became increasingly odd. Shortly after ordering another round of drinks, while our drinks were still full and we had just received them, the server approached our table and asked if we were finished. My boyfriend jokingly responded, "No, let me talk to your manager," and laughed, assuming the server was joking as well. The server responded, "Yeah, it's my brother," but with an attitude that left everyone at our table looking at each other wondering what had just happened. He then informed us that we needed to put a credit card on file. At that point, we had already been there for over an hour, and it seemed strange that this requirement was only being brought up then. We also noticed that no other tables around us were being asked for a card. The most disappointing part came when we received the bill. There was an additional $60 service charge added--$35 on my friends' bill and $25 on ours. Confused, we asked for an explanation. The explanations we received kept changing. First, we were told it was because my boyfriend was sitting with another group, which was completely false. Then we were told it was because the bill exceeded $100. After that, we were told it was because there were more than six people in our party, despite there only being four of us. The inconsistent explanations were frustrating and made it feel as though the staff were simply making up reasons to justify the charge. Our issue wasn't necessarily with a service fee itself--it was the lack of disclosure and the conflicting stories we were given when we asked about it. To make matters worse, the receipt also included a separate line for an additional tip. After discussing it with them and explaining that additional charges should be clearly communicated to customers, the service charge was ultimately removed. This review is not a reflection of the food, which remains excellent, nor of our previous experiences at Standard Pub. It is solely based on the service and handling of the situation during our Saturday night visit. We left feeling disappointed and confused, especially because this establishment had earned our trust through many positive visits in the past. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident and that management addresses these issues so other customers don't have a similar experience

The restaurant is smaller than you expect it to be, but it is cozy, friendly, and not overly loud. We only had a 10 minute wait when we arrived and they were packed. Our waiter Kyle was on point, introduced himself and dropped the special of the day with gusto. If I hadn't already had a ton of carbs for the day I would have gone with it. Ended up ordering the scallops, and fried zucchini appetizers. Scallops are served almost like a soup. The sauce in the bowl was to die for. I'm thinking white wine, and lemon were the major components. It was phenomenal. Fried zucchini was super tasty and is coming home with us. I'd swear it was enough to feed 4 people. For mains, we ordered pot roast and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Wife loved the pasta and chicken. Surprisingly enough she ate it all, none to go which is super rare for her. Pot roast was fantastic. Mashed potatoes were on point, the mixed vegetables were amazing. Today I brought my boyfriend and my dog, who lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It was Saturday, super crowded and my dog was being super reactive with another dog across the way. It was super embarrassing and, although I am sure that it stressed out the staff, they were calm, kind and attentive. I was stressed and shrill, my dog was being a grade-A A-hole. I'm sorry Lucille! I hung out and went back back-and-forth from 2 o'clock until 2:30 , and tried calling the number several times that's on the Yelp app, but it was a disconnected number.... So we ended up Leaving that parking Lot , and going to 1533 Oakdale Rd # A, Modesto, CA 95355 and some Very Good Food.

I was excited when I found The Bussdown on Instagram last year and have been waiting in anticipation to try their food ever since. I noticed they started posting on their feed again and was excited when they announced that they'd be open from 2pm-7pm. I attempted to call in my order but had no response. Determined to try it, I drove to their site and saw they were still taking orders, so I got in line. When it was my turn to be helped, I was informed their fryers were down. They had other options, so I ordered the brisket, candied yams, + mac and cheese, and for dessert, caramel biscoff banana pudding. The total came out to $31. The lady that took my order said it would take about 20 minutes. 40 minutes later she informed me that they were just finishing up with my order, but they ran out of caramel for the dessert. When I finally got the food 5 minutes later, I took it to my car and gave it a try. I was disappointed off the bat. Apart from the food being lukewarm/on the colder end, I felt like the price I paid was not worth what I got. The Mac and cheese was not like anything I've tried before. It tasted like it had gorgonzola cheese which was not what i had expected/enjoyed. I thought the yams were tasty but lacking a punch. The brisket was tender but either needed to be seasoned a bit more or have more bbq sauce. The biscoff banana pudding was primarily Bananas, whipped cream, biscoff cookie and butter with a little bit of banana pudding. I really wanted to like the food but was disappointed with the whole experience.
