I have lived in the area my entire life, and although this café has been established for quite some time, I had never visited until today. While I typically avoid paying premium prices for coffee, I decided to treat myself and finally give this location a try. Upon entering, I was greeted by a pleasant atmosphere and placed an order for three iced coffees, which I stated clearly. When my order was delivered, two of the drinks were iced, while one was served hot. I calmly and politely mentioned that all three were supposed to be iced coffees. At that point, I overheard an employee respond in the background with an attitude, stating that I had ordered the drink hot. I fully understand that mistakes can happen--orders can be entered incorrectly, and errors are part of any service environment. However, my concern lies with the dismissive attitude and the decision to challenge the customer's request in front of them. This interaction left a poor impression, and as a result, I do not plan to return to this establishment. I will instead continue supporting my usual coffee shops. read more

Super cute little spot and we were very surprised by how good and authentic their food is here. My husband got the chilaquiles verdes and I got the red ones. I pride myself to say my family and I make really good chilaquiles so it's hard to find good ones. This place did not disappoint. The service is good, although sometimes a little slow. Something i did not like is inside the case that holds the desserts there was a fly in there, when i told the girl that works there she said "thank you" but did not address the issue. It's a great nearby option for Oakdale residents. I tried the chilaquiles and the abuelita mocha. My son tried the banana toast and the yogurt with granola. Sadly, my son's yogurt bowl had A HAIR! The service was okay, standard, not bad; but I always prefer warm and smiley staff instead of colder and transactional attendants. This was my first time here and to be honest with you probably I won't return. I feel bad about that because it's only about five minutes from my house. Inside the restaurant there is limited seating and there is some outside tables. It was decorated pretty cute and they do provide menus in Spanish and English. My wife ordered a breakfast dish and I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the green sauce with black beans. My wife liked hers however I felt like mine fell short. It was filled with chicken breast, which was a good amount, but I felt like the chicken was bland, and the green sauce was tangy. It's not something that I would ever order again. You had a choice of rice or beans and I chose the beans. However, they brought it to me and it was like a bean soup and it was cold. It's not advertised as a soup. It's advertised as black beans and why it was puréed. I have no idea. And I also didn't see where it said served cold. Maybe if I chose something else I would be happy, but it really wasn't something that I would give a second chance to. read more

The service was disappointing. I ordered a side of potatoes, and they forgot them. When I brought it up, the staff member seemed confused even though it was listed on the receipt. When the potatoes came out, they were cut unusually small and mixed with chorizo, which I never asked for. The person taking my order never mentioned that chorizo was included. When I voiced my concern, I was again met with a disoriented response and told that it "comes with it," which was never communicated beforehand. On top of that, my friend's cappuccino was made incorrectly. Throughout the entire visit, no one checked on our table. Our plates sat there long after we finished, with no attention from staff. *revised/edit* I decided to give this café another try today. The last time I came in (about a year ago), I ordered an iced lavender oat latte and it was... rough. The oat milk tasted off, and the espresso was bitter and burnt. It left a strong enough impression that I didn't come back- until now. This spot is the closest place near my job that offers lavender iced lattes, which I usually love making at home, but I'm currently out of lavender syrup and figured I'd give them another shot. I'm not too sure if near by big corporate coffee drive throughs have lavender syrup on hand, but I would like to support local coffee shops rather than not. When I arrived, I noticed that menus weren't easily accessible from the line, so I asked for one. There was only two people in front of me. At the register I asked to sample their almond milk before committing to it, and the cashier was really kind and accommodating of that request, which I appreciated. There was only like two orders ahead of me, and with more than one barista behind the counter, I (unfairly) expected things to move faster. I realized afterward that I was holding them to "corporate coffee shop" standards without knowing how their setup works. From my angle, it looked like the espresso machine could handle multiple shots at once, and I assumed too much. I was also awkwardly standing near the espresso machine, thinking it was the pickup area - turns out, it's more of a handoff zone for staff. I recognize now that I was unintentionally in the way, and I truly regret coming off impatient. I was short on time before work and let that urgency get the best of me. That's on me, not them. Eventually, I moved over near the ice cream display and, thinking my order had been forgotten, I called out to the baristas. In hindsight, I was being rude - not out of entitlement, but out of stress. Still, that's no excuse. I want to acknowledge how I acted and say I'm sorry. When I finally got the drink - it was delicious. The dried lavender added a beautifully earthy note that made it worth the wait. I also enjoyed their fresh-pressed orange juice because it paired nicely with my sugar-free Redbull, which is referred to as a Redbull Charger up near Seattle. It's possible the team was having an off day or training new staff. I've worked in customer service and have been a barista before, so I know firsthand how those shifts can go. That said, I also know how much energy matters. After reading other recent reviews, I do sense there might be a disconnect in the team's flow and tone. I'm still figuring out when it's my attitude and when I'm responding to the energy I'm met with. All in all, I hope this café continues to thrive, hires on friendly staff, resolves their "rush hour issues", and keeps their drinks consistently delicious. I'd love to come back when I've got more time and a better headspace to sit and draw at one of their tables to observe. I want to give this spot a fair chance of becoming one of my go to coffee shops. Do hope they introduce "budget friendly" food options. Their parfait seems reasonably priced for the portion. A few of their pastries do so as well. After reading reviews about their hot plates I'd rather not pay for what I might be served: a cold disappointment. read more

They always get the orders right and when there's a small issue they are ready to solve it right away. The shop is small and has dine-in half booths, and tables outside. Been here a few times and the service always disappoints. We've given the location multiple tries as we understand that when under high stress, service quality can be impacted. However, after multiple times being here, even when not busy, service is always bad. Staff are not welcoming, barely even smile or say hello, food is great but once your food has been delivered no one follows up and walks by ignoring you. Went with a friend and ordered a peanut butter banana toast that was $14.05 for one big slice that took over 20 minutes to come out. We got there at 9:05 and there was already a table there we were one of the only two tickets that could've been in that kitchen and my friend had ordered an English muffin sandwich that was smaller then her fist, the order comes with a "fruit bowl" but they put all the berries at the bottom and layered it with orange slices and then banana slices across so by the time my friend got to eat it the berries were crushed. Cashier couldn't even speak up or count took about 7 to 10 minutes to hand me back $.45. We sat outside on the patio and once we were done, we grabbed our plates and took them inside because we didn't wanna leave them out there for the server to have to retrieve them because we sat kind of far away from the entrance. We go in and ask and she tells us with a blank face "just lead them out on the table" I was so sent back by the attitude and tone, but still wanted to be a good person so we left them on an empty unused bar top next to the entrance and as we left a server came to retrieve the plates picked them up, rolled her eyes and scoffed as she looked at us through the restaurant window. I would like to say that the ambience and vibe was nice, but it really wasn't and we really tried to enjoy our time there since we had already wasted a good amount of money. As someone in the food industry, I just felt like the bar was set so high and my expectations were honestly letdown. I talked to others that have also gone and told me that they've had the same experiences and are afraid to leave a review while I'm not so here is an honest experience from someone who went so if you wanna go and have a nice time. I do not recommend going to this café pick anywhere else I think the Perko's across the parking lot would give you a much better time and they have such lovely servers compared to the "service" that they have at this café. read more

I recently moved back home and wanted to see what local coffee shops there were. I stumbled across this gem and decided to give it a try. First off, amazing service which was fantastic and the amazing aesthetics inside. The decor was incredible and they had a section where they sold cute items like T-shirt's, jewelry, and coffee cups!! I base my score off a basic vanilla iced latte with almond milk. Let me just say .... A M A Z I N G. Loved the ice coffee it's one of the best of tried af local coffee shops and their treats were yummy too. I tried the beso cookies, keto blueberry and orange muffin. The cheesecake here is incredible. I don't live that close, so I don't come here often, but the cheesecake is what keeps me coming back. It's rich and delicious without being overly sweet. No exaggeration, it's some of the best cheesecake I've had in years. Service is generally pretty quick and friendly, and the café itself is pretty nice a cozy. I have never tasted anything spoiled and sour in my life until today. They definitely don't put dates to check and throw out and don't sell their desserts much. Originally heard about this place from my bf's co-workers but honestly it wasn't our mission this past Sunday morning...we originally drove up to Oakdale from Merced to go to Bloomingcamp ranch for their yummy cinnamon rolls and remembered about this place in Riverbank...and WE ARE SO GLAD WE DECIDED TO STOP! Upon arrival no seating available but we wanted to sit in the car anyway since our pup was with us, but as we were waiting for our food and drinks the wait wasn't long at all, people were leaving relatively quick. Very clean, vibrant, and friendly vibe, service was quick and we both ordered Mollete + over easy egg added...we took 1 bite and both of us gobbled it down, the pico de gallo had a nice kick to it and really added so much flavor! We were so disappointed that we didn't try different things! We also ordered lattes, which were on the strong side just how we like them! This was my first time here and I have heard so many great things about it! It is a cute little cafe in a strip mall and a nice little gem. The menu is Mexican focused and pretty authentic with a twist of modern nuances. The decor is cute but the plates, cups, and silverware is so adorable and reminiscent of old school Mexico. It was busy when we got there so we weren't greeted upon entering. We found the only empty table that was dirty and we sat down. It was probably about 10 minutes and still nobody had come to our table to clean it or pick up the dirty dishes. After the 10 minutes I got up and asked if I could put the dirty dishes somewhere and they offered to come clean the table. Had my family not been there before I wouldn't have known that we had to order at the register. The food and drinks came out pretty quickly and I must say that everything was amazing! The coffee was freshly made to order and it was amazing! Including the Americano! The papas con chorizo were a little dry but still very tasty! The flour tortillas were homemade and once again brought back those memories of growing up having freshly made tortillas with every meal. The staff is very nice and once we got over the waiting period at a dirty table they were very attentive and everyone was so nice. The menu has so many good items that it's difficult to choose what to order. I will say that the abuelita mocha was so good that I wished it was bigger than what it was! If you're looking for a cute little hidden gem to have an amazing cup of coffee or breakfast or lunch with a friend or alone this is the place. I can't wait to go back to try all the drinks and food! This review is based on a DoorDash order. The Ultimate guacamole toast and fideo from Palo Santo did not taste good. The fideo was so salty and mushy. It's not a soup you can just let simmer all day so I believe you shouldn't offer it unless you can make it fresh. Avocado toast also did not taste fresh. It was kind of gross.
