Came in on a Sunday at 11:30am and there was only a 15-minute wait for a booth for three people. The staff was nice and quick. The food was just your typical diner type, greasy spoon kind of place. I got an egg white omelette with ham (looked like cut up pieces of thin sliced deli meat) and asked that fresh potatoes be boiled in water or steamed in water due to food allergy. What I got was fried potatoes. When I questioned the server he just said that's how they come. Do they not have raw potatoes in the back they could have boiled for me?? The taste of the omelette was meh and I only ate 4 bites. I obviously didn't eat the potatoes. The English Muffin felt oily, like someone touched it with greasy hands. I had asked for it to be dry and with no butter. So basically I didn't eat any of my food and will not be back (this was my third time here and none of the other experiences were any better.) Such a shame because it is only 5-minutes from my house. My dad ordered the chicken fried steak and my mom got the taco salad and both of their meals were inedible too. The food here is just BAD. I told the server I didn't like my food and he didn't even answer me. He took away three plates of uneaten food and no one asked if there was an issue and no manager bothered to come over to even talk to us or try and make it right. What a HUGE waste of money. Don't bother eating here...so many other places to eat that are so much better. This place was packed and no real waiting area...everyone just squished together. This is a hustling and bustling place, so if you are looking for a quiet spot, at least don't go when we did. Best part of this place is their wall for taking pictures. The water was nice and cold. I decided to have their steak medium rare and eggs (3), fruit and sourdough toast. I wish we had The Secret Garden in the Bay Area! I've came here twice so far. My sister and I had lunch here for the 1st time last year at the end of March, and we absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, and it had beautiful presentation! We both got the French toasts while I had the banana foster while she got the fruity pebbles. Both were decadent & tasty. We also made it into a meal with the two eggs & bacon. I remember I got the spicy mango margarita, and that was yummy drink! We came here for brunch this past Sunday. Almost a year apart visit. We were seated within 5 minutes. Not much of a wait. This time my sister got the strawberry cheesecake pancakes while I got the stuffed butter croissant toast all while making it into a meal again so we have some savory items as well. I absolutely love the elegant garden vibes that The Secret Garden offers. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, making it such a nice place to enjoy a meal. The food is plated beautifully and the taste definitely lives up to the presentation. I had a vanilla latte along with one of their classic breakfasts -- ham, eggs, toast, hash browns, and a pancake on the side. The portions are very large! I ended up sharing with my mom and we were both completely full. My husband ordered the chilaquiles and really enjoyed them as well. Had to go to kaiser and modesto and the place I wanted to eat at wasn't open yet. Decided the search yelp and found this place. I had my ten year old with me and I called ahead to see if there was a wait time in the only set about ten minutes and they only said about ten minutes on a sunday morning. They couldn't put me on a wait list over the phone, but since the wait was minimal we went over and were seated really quick. French toast ans pancakes run about $15 each and it's $5 additional to add eggs in bacon or sausage. My daughter got the nutella french toast and I got the bananas foster French toast. Both of these were delicious, but that was probably the best bananas foster I've ever had. The caramelized butter sauce and the perfect tenderness of the bananas made it a 10 out of 10 for me. I was telling my daughter that it had been a long time since I had something that tasty for breakfast. We both did the add-on and I ordered my eggs over medium with bacon and she did scrambled with bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly. I was confused about our orange juice which on the menu stated $7 a glass for fresh squeezed orange juice and when we got the juice, it definitely wasn't fresh squeeze, but on the bill it was only $5. read more

There was a bit of a wait - it was Sunday after all, honestly it was less than 10 minutes - not too bad. We got a spot up front, which I was grateful for as my grandma has mobility issues. The server was in training - so we got two! That was fun and funny. The food was alright. Some of the menu was a little fancy. This is the perfect place if you like mimosa flights and French toast. The difference French toast dishes are huge and always beautiful and I love the different flavors of mimosas. The stuffed crepes are also a favorite. It's always packed in there, but even so the service has never suffered. I see that you can make reservations but not on Saturdays (first come, first serve). Worst service I have received at a dine-in establishment. I went to have breakfast with my mom, started off well as we were seated promptly, however that's as positive as it got. We ordered our food at the same time as our drinks. We waited for over 45 minutes to receive our food as we watched people who arrived after us receive their orders. After 30 minutes, my elder mom had to get up and ask for an update and still after that waited another 20 minutes. I get it stuff happens but no one ever checked on us the entire time and our waitress looked beyond annoyed. No apology or accountability was taken for our order being delayed. Had high hopes for this place but we weren't able to enjoy our food there as planned as it took so long we had to box it up as soon as it arrived. Very disappointed in their customer service.
