After the fact I learned this appointment was past the stores normal business hours. When I arrived at the appointment she had a well presented snack and beverage ready for me and my friend. She also had an entire rack of clothes ready for me to try on as per my needs. She was very patient with me trying on clothes, took my opinions and critiques to heart, and came back with different selections based on that input. She was never pushy with me and even made a point to iterate that she did not want me to buy anything that I was not comfortable with. I left with several articles that day. She personally made an appointment for me at The Full Cup at La Promenade - another highly recommended boutique. The clothes that she has are of exceptional quality - something Mary prides herself on. I wear a pair of paints that I bought that day at least 2 or three times a week and they look fantastic. I purchased the pants 4 months ago and they hold up as if they are new. Since my first purchase I regularly receive emails and cards. The correspondence does not always promote the store, sometimes it is just to keep in touch. Mary greatly cares about her business and she does this by genuinely caring for her customers. I currently live in Washington DC, but I will always make a point to stop into her store when I am in the area. I cannot wait to see what she has I store for the future of her business.

They are kinda pricey though...for example...a dress was around $86...I had asked the girl if they were gonna have any upcoming sales, because by that time I had to leave for the spa...and didn't have any additional time to look any longer. She had told me that the next weekend they were having a pretty decent sale. So I had made not of that! The following weekend...I made it a point to roll through and try to get some dresses for my vacay. I had to bring my one year old...who unfortunately HATES sitting in a stroller. So I knew once I walked in there I had to be fast. When I showed up...I wasn't wrong...my son was throwing a fit...I had just drove an hour to this store...and had no time to really check it out...but saw the dresses that I wanted from the previous week! The associates kindly took my clothes and hung them up in a fitting room and gave me the chance to try them on. I picked out the ones I loved and purchased my items. There was no prior indication that the review hours had changed, and I explained that I had rushed to get there based on the hours I had been given. The clerk agreed to allow me to leave my items and briefly explained the process. When I asked her to repeat the explanation, I realized that leaving the clothes would automatically indicate that I accepted their offer. I was not comfortable with that, so I asked to wait instead, which I was allowed to do. My clothes were then piled together, and I was offered $56 for approximately $400 worth of clothing. I asked how many items they intended to keep and was told nine. I decided to decline the offer and thanked the clerk for her time. At that point, she picked up the clothes I had carefully folded and shoved them back into the bag. When I later counted the items, there were actually 13--not nine. The entire experience left me feeling that the process could have been handled much more professionally and transparently. Clear communication about the hours, a straightforward explanation of the process, accurate information about the number of items being accepted, and respectful handling of customers' belongings would have made a significant difference. I understand that a business is not obligated to make an offer that a customer considers satisfactory, but I do expect honesty, transparency, and professionalism throughout the process.
