I had a side order of the onion soup and it was beyond anything I have eaten in knowing I was getting an originally made onion soup from fresh with the best ingredients. Each was a big enough serving, I had some to take home. One of my friends got the mussels in garlic sauce. The waitress made everything a joyful interaction and the chef served the food. My friend got the mussels in an individual cooking pot. What fun! We had a relaxing time with unforgettably great food in a setting where the staff made our elderly long eating time festive and a memorable event. I think the server's name was Cass - but I can't quite recall. Once she learned that it was our first time there, she gave us the full run down: All the bread is made in house The cakes are all Grammy's recipes, which she taught to her niece All the meat is cooked or smoked in house and - ham, turkey, beef etc The menu is large - almost overwhelming, but in a good way. Almost everything comes in half or full. I can't imagine anyone finishing a full meal here - their slogan is "bigger is better" and they really mean it. None of us were able to finish our meals and were left with the perfect amount for dinner later that evening. I ordered Whole Wheat toast with my breakfast and I'm not kidding when I say that it was the best toast I've ever had.
