Decided to give Angelina's another go for brunch and we started off strong. Restaurant was mostly empty just after 1pm on a Monday, and we were greeted right away. It was clean and bright and we got a nice seat by the window. Our server was quick to say hello and take our drink order. I'm always impressed with the breadth of the menu here. I landed on the Seafood Yummy Hash, and hubby had the Big breakfast, again. Coffee and water came first, and we were both delighted at how good the coffee was. Most diner style restaurants have a very burnt tasting coffee but this was very smooth. Off to a good start! Food came out very quickly and looked amazing. Both dishes were beautifully plated, and the fruit on the big breakfast was not a typical canned special. Things took a turn at the first bite though. Taste 10/10, but our food was cold. Like cold, cold which was surprising given the restaurant was mostly empty, and it came out so quick. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and very obviously in-house made, but both of our potatoes were quite literally cold, with some of the baby potatoes being hard in the middle still. The sourdough was also stale, but not just stale in taste, it was almost like it had been toasted well in advance and then plated. The review on the big breakfast remains the same as last time. Sausage was amazing, but the bacon and the ham left something to be desired. The server took some time to return back to our table and check in on us. When she did I told her our food was cold. She just kind of made a face, said oooooh, apologized, and that was it. She also had to be reminded to refill our coffees a second time after asking. The last shock came with the bill. While the prices overall were reasonable for very large servings of food, two black coffees came to $11. I know we raved about them at the beginning of the review, but not sure they were $11 good. mid. i got the 2pc cod and chips ($23). fish seemed a bit too wet and fell apart when i tried to cut it. also it made the batter too wet. chips had this seasoning on that made it too salty, soup was okay and had vegetables in it, but it just tasted like salt. we also got onion rings to share ($11) and those were pretty nice and crispy. the chipotle mayo sauce was so good read more

I have been to Angelina's a few times, from its old location on the Quay to this current place inside River Market. The food was good but I disliked the long wait for a table. While it is more known for its pannenkoek and breakfast dishes, I actually quite like the fish and chips. It was really nice. On my recent visit, we were a big group and the servers were great in topping up water and coffee constantly. I shared the big pannenkoek breakfast with my friend and the staff actually brought two smaller plates to accommodate the food. That's how big the portion is. I discovered a delicious way to eat the pannenkoek. Put a piece of meat into a strip of pannenkoek and roll it up like a crepe. Add a dollop of hollandaise sauce on it. Super yummy. read more

This restaurant is located at the end of the new Westminster Quay where my condo sits at the Murano. Upon entering the Restaurant, it is bright, light and large. We were seated at a booth and explored their humongous menu. We ordered the banana salted caramel waffle, the pierogi pannekeok and a fruit plate. My mother loved her breakfast so much she literally ate the whole thing. The fruit plate was exceptional with various types of fruit. My pierogi Pannekeok was amazing. The overall experience was our top breakfast experience during my visit to Vancouver. read more

There were 17 parties ahead of us on the ipad check in. We chose to be seated at the booth on a Sunday, so we skipped the long line. We didn't wait a single second. It was awesome! If we had to wait through that line, we would have probably left and went somewhere else. We ordered a sweet dutch pancake and a savory one. They were both amazing! This spacious diner on the new west waterfront is a great find! The menu selection was large and varied and they have a whole Tabasco sauce variety they bring to your table!! I was able to find some good vegetarian options, i ordered the vegetarian hash with no eggs, the avocado on top was the perfect touch! But the best thing was Dillan our server!!! We waited 45 minutes for a table which wasn't bad considering it was a Saturday. They text when the table is ready which is nice so we shopped around the marketplace. The peach waffle I thought would be more and the peaches were so sour but I guess it's end of season. The corned beef hash was not what I was expecting. My friends and I came here for brunch on the weekend. A standard breakfast place. We all enjoyed our meals. Ambiance: 5/5 - if it's a beautiful day, go for the outdoor seating near the water. There's also interior seating too with a nice vibe to the place Food: 4/5 - Two of us had the breakfast platter of chorizo sausage with fresh fruit, roasted potatoes, toast and choice of 2 eggs and the other ordered the savory Dutch Pannekoeken with two range eggs, and turkey bacon. Clearly super popular, if not a core pillar of the struggling Quay. It is a super nice space too with a "happening vibe" for a breakfast place. Nice to see a ton of families. Big portions, super nice staff, all that good stuff but 2 things I just can't look past: - the price,.. I get it, restaurants are having a tough go but just look at the menu,.. its too much. - Nothing tasted bad but there are no elevated flavours here. I'd put the dutch pannekoeken at the bottom of my list. Everything here was "ok", but no single items from the various things we had seemed better than, or even as good as, a diner. Terrific breakfast experience at Angelina's. Came by for brunch on a long weekend Sunday with high expectations. The restaurant was busy but with minimal wait. We opted to sit outside despite overcast and windy conditions. We were offered blankets which is a really nice touch and was an excellent start to our experience. Lots of options on the menu - my omelette came with salsa, toast and a fruit platter that was amazing. Usually the "fruit platter" will be a slice of apple and an orange. Here as you can see, there were at least eight different fresh fruits. The omelette and salsa were excellent and the portion was generous as you should expect from a $20 breakfast. The potatoes were also very good. As for the service, we waited a little while for the bill, but our waitress was running around so that's understandable. Our food came out in a reasonable timeframe and although I'm not usually one to spend $20 on breakfast, I think considering the location, quality of food and service it was well worth it. Good brunch but slow service. My friend and I came Sunday morning around 11:20 and waited ~40 min. They'll take your number and text you when it's your turn to get seated. They have both indoor and patio seating. They have a huge brunch menu, with all the regular options such as hash, benedicts, omelettes, French toast, etc. And of course they have Dutch pancakes! I started with large glass of freshly squeezed orange juice ($6). It was really good, but the portions were smaller than what I was expecting for a large. I went with the Big Pannekoek ($21), which comes with baby potatoes, ham, bacon, sausage, bratwurst, and eggs. The bacon was very crispy, almost like bacon chips, but my favorite meats were the sausage and bratwurst. Both were very flavorful and went well with the pannekoek. I also tried the strawberry bellini slush ($6.50), which was nice and refreshing. I asked for my eggs to be poached, but they were served separately and had a weird vinegary taste. I have been to the old location numerous times but this was the first time checking out its new location. The new location is just a flight of stairs down from the old location in the New West Quay. We were greeted (not the most friendly greeting) and seated promptly by the window. Nice little window view. The restaurant was busy both on the outside patio and inside but there were no lineups. Thank goodness, I remember lining up forever at the small old location. Anyways, there really not much to say that haven't been said, just simply one of the best breakfast brunch place in New West and its surrounding area. Here were the food we ordered; 1. London fogg. Pretty basic 2. Peach Bellini. A bit too watery, would be better if more of a slushy form. 3. Daily soup; Potato bacon chowder. A bit too watery so missing that nice chowder texture and definitely needed some work on this soup. 4. Big breakfast. Pretty much the name said it all, it comes with eggs, ham, bacons, sausage cut, toast, roasted baby potatoes and fresh fruits. Very nice! Everything was tasty especially the baby potatos. 5. Smoked salmon and spinach with cheese pannekoeken. Everything was nice but wish the spinach looked more pleasing to eat. 6. Side of eggs sunny side up. As it is. 7. Side of smoked salmon. Very generous portions!! This new location was definitely an improvement from the old location in terms of comfort dining. Besides the greeting staffs, our waitress was very friendly and attentive but unfortunately none of the staffs said bye to us when we walked out, I did left a 25% tip not like I didn't tip lol. As for the food, very generous portions and tasty besides the soup. Overall, this is a great little place to grab breakfast or brunch if you are in the new west area and going to enjoy a little stroll along the quay after. read more

Sorry Angelina's, this was my 2nd visit here and it was a let down compared to the first time. Service was good and efficient but the food was not good at all. Poached eggs were way over cooked, omelette was as well. potatoes were burnt and inedible. We told the waitress and nothing was done or offered. We got here a little after they opened and put our name on the wait list. We were told it was going to be a 20 minute wait but we got in within 10 minutes. Our waitress was very friendly and took our order right away. While waiting we were curious to see everyone's order coming out as the selection for breakfast was quite extensive and we couldn't decide on what to order. Came here on the way down to Seattle and this was probably one of the best finds. There's 2 ways of entering into the restaurant and I ended up coming through the "back" which was through a market but this place is fairly easy to find. We were greeted by staff and was seated almost immediately. Even though menus came a little longer than expected, the host informed us that they were sanitizing it prior to giving it to us. Walked by this restaurant the other time we were at River Market so we decided to come and try. This was my first time having a Dutch pannekoeken. One star deducted for poor customer service/wait time. They were extremely busy and I guess they didn't have enough staff working that the quality of service was compromised. Firstly, we waited over an hour for our food. Secondly, our server kept forgetting to bring things - ketchup, a clean fork for one that was soiled...etc. So imagine this, we sat for over an hour waiting for food, then once the food came, we sat for some more time before we could eat certain stuff. Lastly, we asked for the bill and it took them MORE time to get it to us. The food was mediocre... I only took a picture of the Big Pannekoeken as the other 3 (omelette, french toast and egg benny) didn't look very good on pictures. My biggest disappointment was my French Toast. I loooove them and would eat them at any chance I get. Their version was soooooo dry and I had to use lots of syrup to make it moist. I thought even my version at home tasted better. The coffee was also bad. There were free refills but I didn't even want any more of my coffee after half a cup. The thing is, all of these food costed a premium and I felt like I could've eaten better elsewhere, at a lower cost. There are so many brunch options available in the Lower Mainland. Seriously, if the restaurant is this busy and the service is compromised, maybe the restaurant should consider hiring more staff? No one wants to sit there waiting for almost 90 minutes before the food arrives. Not to mention the street parking $ kept on increasing and increasing. read more

Since moving to Burnaby, we've been starved for good brunch spots, especially since the COVID lockdowns began. Angelina's in New Westminster has quickly become one of our favourites. They boast a huge menu ranging from waffles and pancakes to bennys and skillets. Portion size is never an issue here. The waffle and pancakes come stacked with whipped cream and a pile of fresh fruit, and the skillets are massive oval shaped plates overflowing with meat, cheese and potatoes. I always find myself determined to try something new, but fall prey to the same old favourites time and time again. The location along the New Westminster boardwalk offers a great view of the water, and some great nearby markets to browse while waiting for your table. Not sure if it's family owned or not, but the waiters are all fantastic, friendly and services is pretty quick for how busy it *always* is. Expect to wait between 15-30 minutes on the weekends, since they typically don't take reservations in advance. All-in-all, I highly recommend checking this place out if youre near downtown New West looking for brunch, you wont be disappointed. Make sure to bring an appetite read more
