I love the shirts, but they are extremely oversized. I ordered xl for the first two and one of them is in reality an xxxl, while the other one is in reality a xxl. So, for the third shirt, i ordered a large, and it fits perfectly--and I'm getting the first two taken up at my seamstress. The shirts are all gorgeous, with a very durable, hefty fabric, but quite expensive, like all of Castaway's products. I doubt that the inconsistency in sizing is uniform throughout Castaway clothing, but probably confined to their madras clothing, which is made in Chennai (formerly Madras), India, as I have found wild inconsistency in madras shirts from another retailer. I cannot say that for sure, however, as I have no other items from Castaway. Last note: each of my shirts are long-sleeved, and the fabric is so thick they are too hot to wear on a very hot day.

We were happy to see a 'dogs welcome' sign on Beetlebung's door. We happily went in to browse with our well-behaved Welsh terrier. All the designs on the garments and jewelry are by locally artists and very unique as the shop owner explained. A very stylish lobster adorns many of the shirts for men and women. While the Menemsha store is dog friendly, we found quite a different vibe at the Oaks Bluff store. The store attendant was watching our every move and warned us when our small dog went too close to a piece of furniture (unfinished wood). We were going to buy more items, but then decided that the rude treatment was a turn off and will spend our money elsewhere.

So this year I bought 2 sweatshirts even though the price increased $10 over last year. (Didn't want to pay the shipping fee). When I saw the package I thought there was only 1 sweatshirt. But to my surprise there were 2 sweatshirts, but they were a lot thinner than last year. So, I followed the Return instructions and I was annoyed for the $10 fee. It took 2 weeks for the company to recognize the return which was yesterday. According to customer service, I have to wait another 10 days for the credit to be issued to my credit card! Whhhhaaatttt? For a legacy Cape Cod business, I find their practice to be absolutely horrid! Quality is in the toilet and your'e sitting on my cash for a month. Bye, bye Black Dog!
