Had my first Galentine's Day here with my friends and I'm so glad I did. First, we were late for our original time slot because of reservations we had and were worried we'd have to buy another ticket. I recommend buying the insurance because things happen. The lady was nice enough to let me come in at a later time. It was a small spot with many exhibits -each one Instagram worthy. The staff was so nice and everyone was so social distanced. Great vibe from everyone including the other customers. Some people brought tripods and one girl who came alone brought her own w a timer . Others are there to take your pics so feel free to come alone. There was a section of black owned items that was pretty cool. Very well put together. So glad we went.

This was a really cool experience. I work nearby and had seen this spot, but I'd never had time to come visit, but I'm so glad I came today. It's a great place for not only photos, but also for the feelings of nostalgia. You can really tell a lot of thought went into each area of the experience and not a single detail was overlooked. Definitely bringing all my friends here when they come visit.

This place is definitely a content creator's dream! There are numerous exhibits to get the perfect shot, boomerang or video! You have to book online for your reservation. Upon arrival they take your temperature as part of the Covid precautions. Then after showing you tickets they give you the freedom to enjoy the exhibitions! You get hit with nostalgic and modern Black hair pride. There is an overwhelming sense of joy that you feel as you see this amazing display of Black hair celebration! We had a blast taking pictures and looking at the magazine and old school pictures of iconic Black figures. As you finish your experience, they have a section where you can purchase Black owned products, from puzzles to children's books to hair products. It was a cool experience and it's a cool place to go and have fun and celebrate Black hair!

I loveeeeeeeeeed my experience at The Black Hair Experience! The concept and attention to detail while creating this space was SO intentional and so on point. I felt nostalgia the entire time. I also loved that their retail section was ALL BLACK OWNED/CREATED products! Being a black girl, I definitely recommend checking it out. They also have several location across the US so grab some friends and make this apart of your next girls day!

Sooooo the Black Hair Experience was giving Black Girl Magic, big hoops, Afros, coco butter, & Vaseline!! For one, I LOVE photos (I only have 11,000+ in my phone), so a selfie museum was such a great idea. What was even better was the fact that I got a chance to celebrate being a black woman and loving my hair just how it is. There were several cute backgrounds for photos. My personal favorite was the pink room with the landline phone and magazine. Giiiiirl my 16 year old self came back to life in that very room. I also really enjoyed the product background cause that's honestly what my bathroom looks like (certified product junkie here)! Overall, I had such a good time. Parking was easy. There's a couple of parking decks nearby, and they validate your ticket for you. There also paid parking in front of the building. Will most definitely have to bring my friends here.

Recently took my babies to the Black Hair Experience, THEY LOVED IT! The exhibits and the girls learning to embrace their natural hair warmed my spirit. Staff wad professional and organized. It was a great experience! I think it's a treat for all ages but my babies had a ball!

Came out for the yelp elite Experience and i wasnt disappointed. Figured i would bring my wife out because she loves the natural hair thing! I was the only man in attendance (besides camera guy) but i enjoyed myself. My mom does hair and i related because i used to go buy her hair products all the time Im glad i came though, gotta support our black women and the culture!!!

My outings have been few and far in between with Covid, but I have to say that I felt safe while taking in this unique and fun experience. As a black woman, it was really fun and interesting seeing my culture of black hair reflected in the various installations. Essentially, think of the TFTI experience but with all things revolving around black hair. If you have been itching for new pics, this is the place for you. The backgrounds are so instagrammable! And while the overall space is not that big, there are about 15-16 interactive installations. The tour is self guided. it took me less than an hour to get through it all. And there is merch set up at the end of the tour where the majority of the items are from black vendors. I ended up buying a 'My hair is a mood' t-shirt! So cute! Now for the covid precautions. A reservation is needed for entry. Tickets cost $28. They limit the amount of people who are in the building. When I went, there was a total of 7 people in the building. Masks are required when you are not taking a picture. Social distancing is enforced by the markings on the floor. Hand sanitizer is provided. And all exhibits are sanitized after each tour. I wish the tour had more installations, but I thank the black women so much for visualizing this and making it happen! This would be the perfect activity with Black History month around the corner ;)

    Squad!

The experience there was amazing! I felt like I was at home! They somehow figured out how to capture the essence of our hair experience and made it sooooo dope! Most of the installation are super interactive which I love! Make sure your are dressed to the nines and can have a photograph (or a good friend) come because you will have a ton of fun taking photos for social media! Literally by far the best pop up museum I have ever been to! For all of those that may be concerned about Covid safety, they do take your temperature at arrival and require a mask. They do a great job of limiting how many people as well, so this is good AND safe fun!

Strike a pose! Such a fun selfie experience. I definitely recommend for a girls gathering and/or fun experience for out of town guests. Black female co-owners, Alisha Brooks + Elizabeth Davis, hit the jackpot with this idea. I love the background story and their success to turn a pop-up to permanent businesses in multiple cities! It was a delight to travel back in time to reminisce on my black hair journey. The bingo game was too cute & I'm sure I was able to put a scrunchie on every single square. There were plenty of backgrounds to select for selfie or group photos. The bubbly was flowing, popcorn poppin', cotton candy, and a female DJ with a fly playlist! I'm not a big selfie person at all. Yet had an amazing time. I love how the store supports and sells products from other black owned businesses. I purchased two pair of cute earrings. Guests were required to sign a waiver. The location has a prime corner spot in Emory Point (across the street from CDC and Emory University). Parking in the garage is reasonably priced at about $3 for 2-3 hours. I'm happily spreading the word about The Black Hair Experience!

I brought my 6yr back old granddaughter to the Black Hair Experience. She is just really learning about what it means to have black hair. She loved seeing different items there we use on her hair. I do wish the room was larger and that the areas felt more separated. Overall a great time

It's a nice experience but not much to do or see. The price should be lower. It is nice that parking is validated.

My friend and I went on a free Sunday and even ran into some other friends while we were there. We got to watch a youth dance performance featuring all different styles--from kids dancing in suits to a Mary Poppins-themed routine it was so incredibly cute! The art itself really spoke to me. I got to see cultural pieces from my home country that I rarely ever see elsewhere, and it honestly brought tears to my eyes. They were also highlighting a Black woman's art that day; hearing her story and seeing the way she painted up until her passing, alongside works from other Black artists, was profoundly beautiful. This was my second time visiting the High, and I absolutely hope to go more often whenever I have the time!

I especially enjoyed the mix of contemporary and classic works, and the building itself is beautiful with plenty of natural light. We visited on a weekend afternoon and found it busy but still comfortable to navigate. There were plenty of benches throughout for taking a break and really appreciating the artwork. I'd recommend this for a date, solo afternoon, or when you have visitors in town. My biggest tip would be to check the special exhibitions before your visit since they can be a major highlight. Definitely one of Atlanta's gems.

Tickets run about $26.95 for standard adult admission, with slight variations depending on the day and if purchased online or in person. Given the sheer scale of the grounds, it feels like a fair value. I went on a weekday, which I highly recommend. Parking is incredibly straightforward, you park right on-site at the SAGE Parking Facility. It starts at $3 per hour, but keep in mind that the garage is entirely cashless, so you will need a card. Also if there is an event at Piedmont Park, parking may be impacted. Check-in was quick, and while there were visitors, it never felt crowded or overwhelming. The entire experience flowed smoothly from start to finish. This is perfect for a solo adventure. They were celebrating their 50th anniversary with the Super Bloom display, and it showed. There were over 200,000 tulips and spring bulbs throughout the garden. When I reached the Great Lawn, it opened up into a full sea of color. The visual texture of so many layered, vibrant petals blooming all at once was stunning. Each section felt different. One moment I was surrounded by vibrant florals, the next I was walking through lush greenery that felt almost like a rainforest and the air was so clean. It naturally slowed me down in the best way. The Orchid Daze exhibit was a highlight for me. It was calm, lightly fragrant, and tucked away enough to feel like a quiet escape. I ended up staying longer than expected. It would have been nice, if they had more dedicated seating areas. There weren't many spaces designed for just sitting and being, closer to the flowers especially if you wanted to relax without being in the middle of foot traffic. The grounds were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. There were also great spots for photography, I saw everything from casual photos to full-on portrait sessions. On-site Dining If you plan to stay for a while there is a restaurant on-site, which is convenient. The menu was simple, light bites, sandwiches, and seasonal options. Pricing was about what you'd expect for a major attraction, averaging around $25 to $40 per person for a casual lunch. Overall: A way to slow down and take things in. Peaceful, beautiful, and worth the visit. I'm already curious to see how it will transform for summer.

The Conservatory was the highlight, with orchids and enough going on to actually hold their attention for a while. Admission and parking adds up fast for a family and felt like the biggest strike against the trip. The grounds are well kept and the canopy walk gives a decent view over woods, Piedmont Park is right next door, so we wrapped up in the garden and let the kids run around the park for the second half of the afternoon/. Works well as a pair with the park if you're looking for a way to spend two hours or so.

Take your time and look up high and way down low because the museum is packed with items! Take a second or third lap around the museum and you will continue to discover amazing things you missed the first couple of times. Inside the museum they have even more staff who are friendly and filled with knowledge of you have any questions about anything in the collection from the history of some of the artifacts down to how the museum acquired the pieces: if I lived locally it would be a blast to volunteer here as it's truly a one of a kind place. And to top it all off this museum costs only $10 admission!!! What a value in an age where everything is overpriced or you pay $25 for a roadside attraction that only takes 20 minutes to see the whole thing. I could've spent hours here and I have no doubt they wouldn't have minded at all. They even invited us back that evening for an art show and were offering free beer and wine and stamped our hands so we could enjoy the museum in the evening if we chose to attend. It was so nice of them. I would be doing a disservice if I failed to hype up the gift shop. Buy weird stuff said the sign outside and I certainly did!! Rainy Day Revival has been around I think since 2018 with a shop previously in L5P and about two years ago combined the store, their prop rental side of the business and added this incredible museum all under one roof. They sell so many interesting items but what I like the most is many items are sourced from local artists so you bring home cool items and support local artists at the same time and that's a huge win in my book.
