I don't like being lied to and I was outright lied to by stylist Kaitlin when I questioned a charge…read moreon my receipt labled AVPC for $10.50. I know as a former business owner myself that VPC has to do with credit card services, so I assumed the "A" stuck in front of the VPC was for Aveda, but I wanted to hear from them what this extra charge to my already extremely high $220+ bill was, especially since I was not informed of the charge prior by stylist Kaitlyn which in and of itself is a deceptive practice. Kaitlyn told me the $10.50 AVPC charge added to EVERY customers bill is NOT a charge from the salon itself, but rather from Aveda Concepts [Corporate] since they are a franchaised salon of Aveda Concepts, and the charge is so they may "keep salon Aveda products and services at an affordable price for their customers." THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE! I contacted Aveda Concepts Corporate who told me they do not require their independent franchaised salon owners to add any charges onto customers bills for any reason. That would be a decision made by the salon owner...Sandy in this case. After doing a value comparrison of Salon by Designs market prices for services and product with other much higher-end, more well established hair salons in the area [Fort Myers, Cape Coral and even Naples], it would seem Salon by Designs prices are just as high if not higher than most, so keeping salon services and product prices more affordable is also an OUTRIGHT LIE! I felt it necessary to let all current customers and future customers know that Salon by Design owner Sandy is and has been charging her unknowing customers a $10.50 AVPC charge to use their credit and debit cards to pay for their expensive services because she does not want to foot the bill for the service fees charged to business owners by these credit card companies for allowing her customers to pay for services and products by card which is a completely normal practice for business owners to pay for such fees in the practice of doing everyday business and has been since forever! Good, honest business owners do NOT put these regular business practice fees BACK onto their unsuspecting customers, especially in such a large amount no matter the total of your bill without your knowledge AND even if you pay in cash not using a credit card at all thus not calling for an AVPC $10.50 charge to be added to your bill as is the case with ME since I always pay in cash. I am just the messenger here as of course you all are capable of making up your own minds if you want to continue to be lied to and secretly charged for common BUSINESS PRACTICE FEES that have nothing to do you with you!
