I love that they use Goldwell hair color, however, when I went to pay it was much more that I was told. I had to pay for the weight of the color that they use. Keep in mind, I have a very short haircut and could understand if someone had very long hair. I unfortunately will not be going back for color. read more

Went today for the first time. Surprisingly it was $201 for a single process color, conditioning, cut & blowout on my already short hair. I asked for light/medium brown color & came out with very dark brown. The cut & blowout had no style to it. I couldn't believe she was done! The 3 stars are for the stylist who was very sweet & accommodating even though she was backed up. I guess that's why it was not a good outcome. Not going back. read more

He was very nice and accommodating, offering to have our hair recut by other barbers with more experience or a full refund. We took the latter as we just don't personally feel comfortable going back in. We are glad, however, to see how dedicated the company is to customer service and satisfaction.* It always saddens me to leave a negative review, especially when the stylist I had was so kind, but I have to separate the person from the product. I was happy when I left, but that was mostly because I went in with a mop and left with less. When I washed my hair, I realized that I had the beginnings of a "duck butt" already forming. And there was a bald spot cut into the right side of my head. My wife dealt with an entirely different issue: She has been to Red many times before, and they've always been able to give her a decently short bob with just scissors. This stylist absolutely refused to cut my wife's hair as short as she wanted, stating that she'd have to use clippers in order to get the desired look. My wife replied that multiple stylists had managed it before, and the stylist replied, "They didn't do it right then." Barber bullying is not something I've ever endured, but it's unacceptable. We will regrettably not be returning, even to get our cuts fixed. read more

After the owner read my review he contact me and offered to have a "Master Barber" fix my hair. While I did not feel comfortable going back to Red, and my hair needs time to grow before it can be fixed, he did offer a refund. I have short hair and have been trying to find a good salon. The stylist cut less than 1/2 inch off of my existing style. No shaping up or trim. Charged $60 and it took less than 10 minutes for the cut. I asked for a root touch up and was charged $106. $166 plus tip for a nothing special cut and color. Will not return. read more

After moving to Florida I was scared to let someone touch my hair because my stylist was one of a kind! So I looked up reviews on Red Salon and Spa. The area was nice and they has pretty good reviews. I went in for highlights and I myself am a cosmetologist so needless to say, I am the worst client to have. My highlights came out okay for the most part except they weren't on the scalp so it looked like I had regrowth right away. The owner who was very pleasant called me to ask how my hair came out and I let him know my concerns. He got me back in right away to fix the problem. The second girl who tried to fix my highlights made them even worse and noticeable. It's a month later and my hair looks really grown out. I thought I would give it another chance and went for a haircut. The girl was running late which is fine I understand. Well turns out she was cutting my hair while she let someone else's hair process. In the middle of my haircut which seemed EXTREMELY rushed, the front desk girl tells her that her next appointment is there and she started freaking out trying to find someone to wash out the other girls highlights. I did not feel like she took the time on my hair cut which came out okay I guess. It's time for me to find a new salon which is a bummer because it's not far from my work and I really liked the vibe. read more

I've gone to Red's on and off for over a decade. One reason I've kept going back is that Red's stylists are highly educated and are passionate about their work. If I want a cutting edge cut or color, they would be the first place I'd go to or recommend someone go. This isn't SuperCuts so you might be shelling out a little more cash, but it's worth every penny. I don't honestly think Red's is more expensive than any other high end salon and I've been happy with my hair each and every time I've gone to Red's. And as far as the noise factor, it's a busy salon, but I've always felt relaxed there. Red's also has a location in Cape Coral. They have great e-mail deals as well but don't bombard your inbox with spammy e-blasts daily, which I appreciate. Bottom line is that I've lived in Fort Myers my entire life and when someone asks me where to get their hair or nails done, I send them here. read more

After moving from st Louis to fort myers I needed some serious Tlc to my hair. I have been highlighting my hair since high school and it is always scary changing stylists. I went to two different aveda salons in the area and sat for 3 hours getting my hair highlighted. Nothing is more frustrating than sitting for 3 hours, spending hundreds of dollars, and leaving feeling like you look the exact same when you started. Sensing my frustration, a coworker suggested Red salon. It isnt as fancy as the aveda salons but I had Jenny recently and she was quick pleasant and did a phenomenal job!!! If you are looking for blonde highlights ask for Jenny. My hair is vibrant and looks natural plus she didn't push me to purchase any expensive products like other peers. This was my first time going here, all I wanted was a fresh blowout and some curls. I'm a hair stylist myself so I'm extremely particular about who does my hair (even for something as simple as this). I was put with Kassidy, she was super friendly and very outgoing, we talked the whole time. The only thing I would have liked differently, is that I told her I normally curl my hair using a one inch iron so my curls can last me a few days, but she used a bigger sized barrel and my curls fell before I even made it to dinner that night. This is the worst hair salon I have ever been to. The first girl I had at this salon was totally uneducated at cutting fine hair. This so-called "hairdresser" used thinning shears on my baby fine hair and made a mess of the entire back of my hair. It looked like a rat's nest. Then they had Debbie cut my hair. She was supposed to be one of their best stylists. Ha Ha. Debbie did what she wanted to my hair instead of listening to me. What a disaster. I had actual chunks cut out or holes cut in both side lengths of my hair (which ever way you want to put it). It looks awful, like one of my grandkids cut it. My hair that was once chin length is now cut to my upper lip. I could not take the holes in the sides of my hair. I want to thank Debbie for ruining my hair, my Thanksgiving, my holidays, my life for some time to come! The only way this salon has good reviews is because the owner screens them and doesn't allow negative reviews. But someone has to let the truth out about places like this that have horrible services. First impressions speak volumes to me and this salon made me feel quite awkward all around. Upon making my very first appointment I was asked how much I wanted to pay for my hair cut. Never in my life have I been asked this. I mean, I want my hair to be treated with the best care. How am I supposed to know how much that's going to cost me? I told the woman I am used to paying $60 for a hair cut. She said, oh okay! Then proceeded on...leaving me puzzled as to what I even signed up for. I walked in still with high hopes since I've read raving reviews online about Red Salon. Not a single person greeted me, nor was anyone at the front desk. I sat in the waiting area quite confused and looked around for anyone to notice me. After a few minutes I was finally approached by an apologetic desk clerk who obviously did not know I was even there. I arrived ten minutes prior to my appointment time. As those ten minutes went by, the desk clerk informed me my stylist was running a bit behind. No biggie, it happens. Ten more minutes go by... No update. Another ten minutes...still twiddling my thumbs. After waiting 25 minutes past my scheduled time I got a bit fed up. I have never waited so long to get my hair done. I immediately asked to reschedule to which the clerk was very understanding and accommodating. She approached my stylist, who was still working on someone, then told me it would be ANOTHER ten minutes. Overall, I am sad to say I will not be returning to this salon. read more

Renato is without a doubt the best stylist I've ever had. He is both highly technical and easy to talk to. He's managed to make my hair look good despite cowlicks, an odd lighter patch, and a bald spot. No small task, and he makes it look easy. Renato also cuts our son's hair and makes him look great; not too polished, artfully messy enough for a kid. This also deserves specific praise, as our son tends to move around a lot in the chair.
