Came on a Sunday and it was a 10/10 self-care day. Arrived around 11am and scored great seats, then ended up staying until closing at 9pm. Everything we ate was delicious. I had the burger, fish sandwich, fries, and several blueberry martinis (a secret menu item, by the way). The inside had an eclectic, speak easy vibe that is very inviting. Loved that the pool never felt crowded, giving the whole day an exclusive atmosphere. Can't wait to come back!

I've been eyeing The Blackbird Hotel for a while now. Mostly because of their Happy Hour sign in the front. I didn't even realize it was a hotel with a pool until I walked into the lobby. The space was really beautiful and such a great space for grabbing a couple of drinks. It could also be a good space for working as they do have free wifi. I found a nook to hang out in which has a lot of privacy and was very comfortable. There were many options for food and drinks on the Happy Hour Menu. I decided to skip the drink this time and just try an appetizer, the Brussel Sprouts. It took a little bit for the brussel sprouts to come out (the server did come out to apologize for this) and it came out with a cover. I'm not a big fan of the cover, I always feel it takes away freshness of the food. The Brussel Sprouts themselves were good, not as crispy as I would have liked but there were different flavors and plenty in the serving. This may be a cute place to come work in the future. Service: Good, the bartender took my order at the bar and checked on me when the food was delayed. Drinks: Full drink menu. Outdoor Seating: There's a pool (which costs extra to go to) and some outdoor seating. Wifi: I was told they have it. Pets: Unsure, it was a nice hotel so most likely just outside. Parking: Plenty of street parking.

I bought a day pass here my last Monday in New Orleans and got drunk ...unintentionally as it was also happy hour . Made a few friends , swapped recipes and talked about wine during my little swim session . Someone gifted me a BLY which was really good !!!! Drinks were decent...have made better ones at home ( blood and spice was am3.5/5) . If I could do it again I would skip the regular price cocktails and just order from the HH menu as I thought there was batter value there . Also mocktails were apparently really good according to my new friends !!

From the moment you sit at the bar at The Blackbird Hotel and meet Tim, you are in the hands of a true professional. Tim's attention to detail is impeccable, not just in how each cocktail is crafted, but in how thoughtfully the entire experience is delivered. Every drink is made with precision, balance, and intention. You can tell this is not someone just making cocktails, this is someone practicing their craft. What really sets him apart is the way he takes time to genuinely get to know his guests. He listens. He asks the right questions. He remembers preferences. Then he translates all of that into a drink that feels custom, elevated, and effortless all at once. Watching him work is like watching art in motion. Calm, confident, and exact without ever feeling rushed or pretentious. I'm forever honored to sit at any bar he's behind. He elevates the entire space and turns a simple drink into a memorable experience. If you're lucky enough to be served by him, trust him completely. You won't be disappointed.

A friend of mine loves this place and had been recommending it for a while, so we finally stopped by. The decor was amazing, antique, stylish, and sleek. They even had privacy curtains at the bar, which was a fun and unexpected touch. The bartender was a bit dry. I wasn't a fan of how indifferent he seemed about my Corona preference. I didn't expect it to be served in a can, and when I explained how I usually enjoy it with a lime in the glass bottle, his nonchalant response was a little off-putting. But aside from that, the experience was great. I met a lovely couple and spent some time enjoying the pool area, which is beautiful and calming at night. Can't wait to come back during the summer!

Came here for the Fourth of July to do a pool day as a non-hotel guest and was very disappointed when I got there. They had a cover charge of $45 which is a high price point for a pool, and then after the fact proceeded to tell us that the pool beds were only reserved for hotel guest. So very limited seating lounging areas for non-hotel guest that paid that amount of money to be there. Pool and hotel itself is very boutique style cute, but the staff there weren't very accommodating. There were three open pool beds and we were told we cannot sit there even until the hotel guest arrived. We should've been allowed to sit and take the space until Hotel guest arrived. They did have a small mention of the pool beds policy that I did not notice on a piece of paper when paying the $45. We left and requested a refund and won't be returning.

The Blackbird has daily pool passes available (check website for pricing). The interior of the hotel and indoor bar are absolutely stunning. The front desk staff was nice and checking in for the pool pass is easy. The pool and outdoor area are equally as stunning as the indoor public spaces. What I loved the pool, cocktails and staff all wonderful. Decent price point. The food was just okay. Ordered the fish sandwich and it was mostly batter and pretty flavorless. Wish there was more seating pool loungers but overall a great spot to have a chill pool day

I visited Blackbird hotel for the pool and bar on a weekday after getting out of work a little early. It was the perfect pool day. My friend and I soaked in the pool and drank some amazing cocktails from the bar. The pool area wasn't too crowded. It was a really hot day in Nola that day so I was thankful that the building provides some shade.

Blackbird is where laid-back cool meets low-key luxe. Think craft cocktails that whisper "I'm fancy," but not in an obnoxious way. The vibe? Like hanging out at your artsy friend's place, but they actually know how to mix drinks. The bartenders? Chill and sharp. The drinks? A playful spin on NOLA classics that make you say, "Why haven't I been drinking this my whole life?" Whether you're there to impress a date or just escape Bourbon Street chaos, The Blackbird's bar has you covered. It's the kind of place where you leave feeling cooler than when you walked in. Bonus points for the courtyard--perfect for sipping under string lights while convincing yourself you've entered a Wes Anderson movie.

This has been a go-to for some weeks now! The ambiance, the bar, the pool, LOVE. Staff is kind and genuinely greets everytime I walk through the door. Matthew is the GM, very kind person. My dude Alvin kills at my drinks so does my girl Maya. They all make the experience great. This boutique hotel is my absolute fave, w| under fifteen rooms, it's quant and quiet. Truly a hidden gem Uptown.

*Review only for lobby bar* This is such a beautiful bar in such a beautiful hotel! So stunningly dark and lovely. The lobby bar is super cute. The bartenders are SUPER nice. I loved sitting and chatting with them and definitely want to swing by again. Along with the good vibes were great drinks. I had The Garden District first, which had Hendricks Flora gin, honey, elderflower, lemon, and egg white. It was quite light and refreshing. Perfect blend of citrus, liquor, and sweetness. I love a drink that's not overly sweet. I then tried the Blood & Spice, which had illegal mezcal, blood orange liqueur, jalapeño agave, and lime. It was a winner! I can't believe there was ever a time that I didn't like mezcal. This cocktail was perfectly balanced. The aesthetics of this place will draw you in but the cocktails will keep you in.

Such a beautiful spot for a day drink or night cap!! I love that Blackbird is tucked away in the LGD. It's super unassuming yet a eye-catching from the street, with it's sleek black exterior. I (can't yet!) comment on the rooms. But the bar makes for a wonderful, cozy evening. They have a great selection of both cocktails and wine. S/o to the amazing bartenders Cesar and Nick for being helpful and hospitable...I wasn't a guest at the hotel but it felt like I was! The backyard pool area is amazing! It's beautiful, relaxing, and has great photo ops, lol. To hang out by the pool, you'll need to purchase $25 of food/drinks (for locals) and $50 of food/drinks for non-locals. So, basically, purchase 2 drinks as a local and you're good. This is a lovely spot that I highly recommend. I'd love to gatekeep but, they deserve the business!

Beautiful hotel and bar ambiance! First time but definitely not the last thanks to our bartender Alvin. His knowledge of classic cocktails and bartending techniques were very impressive. I think this is my new regular spot for great conversation and service!

One of my favorite moments was chatting with a gentleman in the lobby who helped with our luggage. We mentioned we were visiting from Pennsylvania, and he shared that his very first job was in Pennsylvania and actually knew our area. It was one of those authentic conversations that makes you feel more like a guest than just another room number. Our room in the older section was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Housekeeping and the nightly turndown service were exceptional. We also spent plenty of time at the pool, where the staff and bartender were fantastic. The drinks were great, the food hit the spot, and the Fourth of July pop-up DJ made for a really fun afternoon. The service was so personal that one of the bartenders recognized us by name when we ran into her on the street a few days later. The only miss during our stay was the famous Carousel Bar. We never managed to get seats at the actual carousel during our four nights--which is understandable given how popular it is and being the 4th of July weekend. We did sit just behind it. Unfortunately, the service there was noticeably unfriendly and felt completely out of step with the incredible hospitality we experienced everywhere else in the hotel. That one experience wasn't enough to overshadow an otherwise outstanding stay. Between the beautiful historic décor, unbeatable French Quarter location, easy access to everything, and a staff that truly cares about its guests, Hotel Monteleone absolutely lived up to the hype. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Despite being old, the hotel is very clean and impressive, and the staff works hard to make the stay hospitable. I was also very happy to see them providing 2 bottles of water per night (I'm Diamond for reference so not sure of the criteria), which really helped considering the constant 90+ degree weather (also I'm a kidney donor so dehydration is a huge concern and danger to me when I'm traveling). One funny thing was I didn't get a Do Not Disturb sign, but no matter. After my first night, housekeeping also left some bathrobes and a piece of mint chocolate on each nightstand, which was a cute touch. I was impressed by the hotel's restaurant called the Fountain Lounge. While I didn't see a fountain, I enjoyed eating here daily, whether it was for breakfast, lunch, Chef's Happy Hour, or dinner. While hotel restaurant these days seem to have a bad rep for being both overpriced and boring, the dishes here were both a delight and competitive compared to a lot of quality sit-down restaurants nearby. It was good to see, as Waldorf Astoria was the brand that made eating out fashionable in the first place back before any of us were born. To set expectations, I don't expect perfection in this day and age as long as the basics are done right, and I even ran across some issues. But the staff were very willing to reasonably fix things so I can leave with a good experience, such as the front desk staff that fixed a check-in/credit issue, and a big shout-out to Ari, the F&B Manager who made my day on an unusually unlucky day for me. Next time I return, I do want to try more of their cocktails as they had many interesting ones. Sadly I started getting a fit of allergies, which may be related to the shampoo. They use Aesop products, which are high quality, but personally I find the fragrance strong and the shampoo seem to have some tree oil that makes my nose very unhappy. I may have to remember to bring my own shampoo next time, which is really unfortunately, but is no fault of the hotel. They do have valet parking, but sadly no EV charging. There are also many parking garages nearby for an extended stay if you don't mind carrying all your bags to and from the hotel. It is a full service hotel however, so count on that if you need a hand! The location is good as well, as it sits right on the border of the French Quarter near Canal St, meaning you'll probably be able to get better sleep than being right in it, but it's also right next to public transit and a very short walk away from Bourbon St. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay. They also have an outdoor "rooftop" pool (I believe it was the 4th floor) with a bar. Impressive that this hotel has 3 bars, including the hotel. I didn't see a gym, but they seemed to have spa service if you're big on that. Definitely my hotel of choice when I visit NOLA again!

The 2 things I care most about when staying in a hotel is a comfortable night's rest and a good bathroom/shower. The bed in our room was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. It was so mushy that when you laid your head down, you sunk so far into it that your legs were literally 45 degrees above your head. I ended up sleeping upside down in the bed with my head where your feet go in order to feel even remotely comfortable. The pillows were all extremely flat, when you put your head on one it sank so far your face was about 1/2 inch from the mattress. I had to use 3 pillows stacked on each other. I had a stiff back, neck and joints the entire time we were there. The 2nd issue was hot water. The first morning, we attempted to shower, it only got barely luke warm for me and when my husband showered immediately after he only got ice cold water. We stopped at the front desk that morning on our way out for the day and told the woman at the front desk. She said she hadn't received any other complaints so it must be specific to our room and she would send engineering there to look at it. (we were getting hot water in the sink). Later that evening when we returned to our room, we immediately tested the shower again and it was still ice cold. So we went back to the front desk to check if engineering had come. We spoke to the same woman from the morning who acted like it was the first time we were telling her this and she said the exact same thing. I asked if they were going to come ASAP because we needed to shower soon and we couldn't take ice cold showers. She ignored my question and answered the ringing phone. A manager happened to be at the desk and overheard our conversation. He asked what our room number was and said that because of the old building and the pipes the hot water takes longer to get there. He said this was a KNOWN Issue by the staff, management and the owner. He told us to run the shower for AT LEAST 15 to 20 minutes, simultaneously with the sink and it should get hot. He also offered to move us to a different room but when I asked if he could guarantee if we wouldn't have the same problem in that room he couldn't give me a straight answer. We had already unpacked everything and didn't want to go through that hassle without a guarantee. So we went back to the room and let it run for 20 minutes and it eventually got hot. So for the remaining 3 mornings, we had to set our alarms for 30 minutes earlier so we could get up and run our shower before hand. For nearly $300 a night, we felt that this was ridiculous. Old building or not, if its a problem, then either don't put people in those rooms, or get it fixed somehow. Why should anyone be subjected to an ice old shower or an inconvenience to their time because the owner hasn't done anything about it? We visited the hotel Bar, the Bourbon O'bar 3 times during our stay and each time we received TERRIBLE service. None of the bartenders were friendly to us, in fact they were pretty rude. Each time it took them at least 10 minutes to even take our order (by standing there and looking at us and not saying anything). The bar was not busy or crowded any of these times. They would then start making one of our drinks, put it down and make other people's drinks, leave and go into a back room, play on their cell phone, talk to each other, or carry the glass around while doing other things. My husband ordered an old fashioned and the alcohol was sitting in the jar with the ice for over 5 minutes while the bartender carried it around doing other things, causing it to get watered down. When making a cocktail, it should be completed from start to finish without doing other things in the middle. I ordered the Mardi Drop cocktail on 2 different days. The first time, it was actually very good. The 2nd time from a different bartender it was horrible .He also sprinkled probably a tablespoon of cinnamon on top of it (which the first didn't have) which made it nearly undrinkable. I had to stir it into the martini in order to not get a mouthful of cinnamon with each sip. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant Roux because of the bad Yelp reviews - we felt we could get a better breakfast elsewhere outside the hotel. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all unless you don't care about being comfortable or friendly service.

Just be prepared for the wall of noise if you're staying on a Friday and Saturday night and have a room facing Bourbon Street; you will need more than the sound machine and earplugs the hotel provides you. Depending on the side of the hotel you select when booking your room and the days you choose, you may be able to get away with just a sound machine and earplugs, or you may be getting too old and need to look elsewhere. If you stay on the courtyard side, you should have enough barriers to deflect the nonstop barrage of noise coming from all the bars and clubs on Bourbon Street, especially between Bienville and St. Ann, on a Friday and Saturday night particularly. We had a room on the third floor with a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street that gave us a great view and the opportunity to enjoy wine and cocktails as the festivities picked up steam throughout the afternoons of our stay. The bed was wicked comfortable. The set of drawers had plenty of space to put clothes with a small fridge for keeping drinks cool and leftovers from spoiling. The closet space was ample and was able to fit all of our hang-up clothing and our suitcases. There was a nice lounge chair next to the desk to chill if you didn't want to sit on the balcony. However, the bathroom was cramped and narrow with these weird double doors that could cause trouble if you are going to do business in the middle of the night. The water pressure wasn't great either and if you don't have the curtain positioned right then you're going to have a puddle. Housekeeping did come by to change our linens and provide fresh towels every day, which was appreciated. The front desk was very affable and accommodating, especially with holding out luggage when our room wasn't quite ready yet to check-in. And I liked that there was a security person checking people that were actually staying at the hotel to avoid stragglers, random drunks, and transients from entering. I didn't have the chance to use the pool while I was there, but we were busy walking around the French Quarter to really care. Same went with having anything in the restaurant for food. They did have the little mini mart on the ground floor that worked for when we needed more bottles of water that were larger than the complimentary ones.
