I contacted them and spoke to the Director, Mr. Ron DeFrancesco. After speaking with him back and forth a couple of times, reading reviews  seeing videos and pictures,  I was excited & looking forward to their performance.  Seeing them on video & in pictures is one thing but having them perform at a party for you is something words cannot describe.From how they entered the room playing the drums to their whole ensemble the Samba dancers costumes, (which was so colorful & beautiful) the drummers, the Capoeira dancers it was  all truly mesmerizing. And the interaction they had with all the guests there from dancing with them taking pictures with them just so delightful nice fun & entertaining.  It was just mind blowing. They we're all very nice, professional,  happy and just delightful. Ron Defrancesco ( director/founder) performed as well & he and his group of drummers, the beats that they performed shook the whole room.  You could feel the energy from the drums, the dancers & performance  go through your bones. I cannot speak to the samba dancers at this company but the Caribbean limbo dancers that I hired…read morethrough this agency were extremely young, unkempt, and delivered an amateur performance. I expected limbo and theatrics - on par with what you would see at a Caribbean resort or cruise ship. Instead, the girls (who were no more than 18 years of age), performed sub par choreography for most of the session with minimal limbo work. The one girl who actually did limbo knocked the pole down with her hair bun on her first attempt to go under. Another had the top of her underwear exposed throughout the entire 2nd performance. To make matters worse, when Ron asked for my feedback on the show he became extremely defensive and unprofessional after I shared what was intended to be constructive criticism. If you are looking for an authentic limbo ensemble I would highly suggest you look elsewhere. Definitely not worth the $1300 that I was charged for two 30-minute performance sessions.

Ubeland NYC was a hit!…read more Despite the rain, this pop-up was packed, and depending on which booth you were trying to visit, wines could be as long as 45 minutes. There were beautiful purple banners hung across the street and each booth had festive bright purple signage. I thought this was such a wonderful and well put on event with lots of great promotion leading up to the day of. I wish there had been more large trash cans around the area to dispose of empty containers, and perhaps stickers on the ground or roped off areas to indicate where line started for certain booths, but other than that, I will absolutely be returning next year if this event comes back. Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC) offers many different types of shows, ranging from dramas, operas, dance and concerts...and much more! Check out their schedule for details! On this evening, we had the pleasure of seeing Hotel California; a Toronto, Canada based coverband for the Eagles! What a treat! It was 2 hrs (with 15 min intermission) of pure nostalgia! What talented musicians! I look forward to future productions at QPAC, and already have tkts to see Madame Butterfly in April! Can't wait!

When the name of the festival is "Bowl of Pozole", you kind of what that to be the star of the…read moreshow. While, the festival as a whole did have roughly 10-12 stations serving different types of pozoles. There were only two standouts. However, if you were there for the booze which was heavily mezcal but also included unannounced tequila, vino & cocktails. Then you my friend are in a really good place. The two standouts of bowl of pozole are: 1) Oxomoco - I expected Michelin star restaurants to bring it and this Michelin restaurant did not disappoint. It was the ONLY bowl of pozole I eaten twice. Very nice lady in the lime green blazer representing the station. Definitely will visit their restaurant when I get the chance to. You should too. 2) Taco Guey - Known for tacos but surprisingly brought out some really good pozoles. I ain't mad at that. Will pay a visit to their restaurant as well. The festival space was...well spacious. The outside space had a few stations for tacos, elotes, pre-mixed cocktails in cans and ample seating/fresh air. Inside the venue however was much different. The lighting was a bit odd since the lights were only spot lights that kind of ran in rows and left most stations especially the pozole stations in the dark. Why? With press, bloggers and those taking photos this made it extremely hard not to use flash or other distracting devices to make the photos pop. Now, if you had bought the VIP tickets which gave you that extra hour before general admission. I suppose that would have allowed you to take photos/videos in better lighting. However, I thought it would have been better to provide such lighting throughout the event. Just one man's opinion here... The booze was flowing...oh was it flowing. It is never wise to mix alcohol/liquor but you almost couldn't help it. Mezcal, which was the star attraction of the festival second to pozoles sort of got trumped by a few tequilas and mix drinks it seems. That is not to say that the mezcal wasn't noteworthy. Overall, I had lots of fun and I really liked the vibe of the festival. Fan.
