When we first pulled up, the line was out the door, so we knew it was good. We waited maybe about 15 minutes, and then we were let inside where we placed our order at the countertop. The menu is pretty big, so there were lots of options to pick from. I got the rooster, a fried chicken sandwich, and others got the kitchen sink plate with a Bloody Mary. After you placed your order, you found an open table. All of the tables were clean and accessible. I loved the vibe! Very up beat breakfast theme. Soon after we got a table, our food arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious! We all basically licked our plates clean lol. After they drop off your food, there is no 'service' so you do have to get everything yourself. But, I loved this actually since it was casual and it gave you an opportunity to get up and explore a tad bit. When we were done, the 'server' took our plates and we were out the door. The line outside kept steady! But, I see why! It was a great way to start the day.

I ordered the "Kitchen Sink" along with a side of biscuits and gravy, and everything was outstanding. The biscuits were fresh, fluffy, and easily some of the best I've ever had. The bacon was thick-cut, salty, crispy, and cooked perfectly. Every bite was excellent. I got takeout, so I can't really comment on the atmosphere or service, but the food alone was enough to impress me. I'm only in Memphis for two days, and this place was so good I'm already planning to come back tomorrow to try the breakfast tacos. Highly recommend if you're looking for an amazing breakfast spot in Memphis.

Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends. Sunrise Memphis ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire drive. If you're passing through town, do yourself a favor and stop here.

A step inside at the same time the counter guy hollered back to let the cooks know a graduation was about to begin so "expect to be busy soon" confirmed that fact! You order at the counter and are given a number for your table and your food is delivered with a smile and some casual southern hospitality banter. This place is quirky with its decor but on point with the food. Get the bacon! Always get the bacon! I'm still dreaming about it! Be warned! We were told during busy times, the line stretches around the building for a steady 8hrs at a time! May the timing of your visit ever be in your favor!

Sure, other colleges may have huge vacant areas shaded by massive, beautiful trees, but they don't have the Walk of Champions, the Pride of the South, and no one greets you with "Hotty Toddy" or "How's your Mamma and 'em?" There's only one Grove and it's at Ole Miss. Read this review with a slow, Southern drawl: It's a place where Saturdays are holy days and Ole Miss football is religion. Sorority girls and alumni ladies are dressed to the nines. Tents are adorned with ice sculptures, crystal chandeliers, fine silver, fancy tablecloths in red, white and blue, of course, and there's more delicious food spread out than you could eat in a week. Some folks even bring their tvs and satellite dishes so they can kick back and watch football until the big game starts. Boys and men toss around footballs in their Church clothes. It's a hellava party from sunrise to dark. There are no strangers here, just friends you haven't met yet. Before the game starts you have to gather around the Pride of the South as they play in front of the Student Union, then crowd around the Walk of Campions and wish the team luck as they make their way to the Vaught. You can feel the love in the air and it puts you in the mood for the excitement that will soon follow! There's a reason ESPN and Sports Illustrated rave about the Grove. If you get a chance to go on a game day, I'd highly recommend it. In the words of Larry Wamble, (even though I can't stand double negatives), "We may not win every game, but we ain't never lost a party".

The menu was front and back simple with breakfast items and small section for lunch. Breakfast is their main menu meal. I had coffee and ordered the Belgian waffle that came with fruit and whip topping. The coffee was piping hot anso delicious you can drink it straight. The waffle looked good just was not hot and skimpy on the fruit and whipped topping. It had a nice crispy taste and flavor and was really good just not hot when it arrived. Caroline was my waitress and she had such a pleasant smile and disposition. A very personal person. The way she took care of her customers you could tell she enjoyed her job. She brought me my bill and there was a Big Bad Breakfast postcard attached. Nice touch. Excellent service. I got a coffee to go and it was hot and freshly brewed. The tables were cleaned after each customer, sprayed down, chairs pushed in , tables straightened and fresh silverware placed. Check the time before you go but this is a great place to eat.
