We randomly stepped into the barbershop one day and spoke to the owner, AJ. Nice friendly guy - very welcoming with good vibes. He told my son, when he's ready, they would be ready for him too! This is what stuck with my son and so when the time came of him wanting to finally cut his hair, he knew exactly where he wanted to go! However, I messed up with scheduling on Booksy. I didn't get my original requested barber, AJ but AJ was still able to accomodate us and set us up with Salt! Salt was amazing! We loved his whole vibe! Hearing it was our son's first haircut, he was up for the challenge without hesitation. I knew we were in great hands. Salt was easy to talk to and he made our son very comfortable on the chair. Boy, did he transform our little man to something brand new...It wasn't just a hair cut, it was a glimpse of the boy he is becoming!

We never left Vallejo for those 6 days because I wanted to be close in case something happened. I knew I had to go home on Wednesday because my kid started school on Thursday but I wasn't able to get him a haircut because I was busy with family. I looked through yelp and called some places. Most places were booked or I didn't feel comfortable that they would be the right place. I called here at like 3:30 on Wednesday 7-14-24 and asked if they could fit my kid in. They said yes can you come in 20 minutes. I said of course. I was told to ask for Oscar . I went to the wrong barber shop at first and asked for Oscar. Now tell me why these folks were so rude about telling me Oscar didn't work there ? Turns out he used to and they were salty as hell about it. Complete turn off in my book. If I'm looking for your competition wouldn't you want to actually compete and see if I want to patronize your business? No they were rude to me all because they are in competition. Bad customer service in my eyes. I so glad I didn't go there. I finally find the right shop and I'm so happy I did. The shop is located across the way from the other shop and there is a spa inside. It's clean, it's nice, the people are friendly and it smells amazing ( I want to buy some spa products at this point ) Oscar is extremely nice! He had his chair all set up and was ready for us. He was so warm and welcoming. He told me about his training in cutting African American hair ( love the respect he put on our identity) and talked about how he didn't know there was a difference until someone told him early in his barber career. I loved that he reassured me of what was a concern of mine without me having to ask. He took his time cutting my kids hair. He said he doesn't rush and treats each haircut carefully and takes his time. I feel like this is the best haircut my kid has had because I've been taken him to the $12 dollar spot by my house in Hayward and I literally got $12 results . He respected my kids wave pattern and cut him up nice!!!! . I'm going to plan my family visits around his haircut so I can come from Hayward to see him. I would definitely recommend Oscar.
